CONDITION REPORT: The chair is in structurally very good order. There are no loose joints. There are no repairs to the legs and the original castors are substantial and sound. The top rail is firm but there has been a fracture to the left hand top corner where the top rail joins the stile. There are no losses here only stress marks. There is a similar stress mark at the same point to the rear of the opposite side of the chair. There are some minor surface scuffs and scratches to the chair legs but no major issues. The chair is not bleached. There are no springs protruding through the webbing which appears strong. Clearly the chair requires re-upholstering.

Lot 1709

An Edwardian inlaid mahogany open armchair, with upholstered back, stuffover seat and raised on tapered turned and reeded front legs terminating in castors. Width across arms 57 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This is a good quality rosewood chair. The colour is extremely good and the timber heavy and dense. The chair has clearly been recently re-upholstered and had little use since. The only minor fault that we can see is some very small losses to the boxwood stringing on the inside edge of the arm supports. There are similar very small losses to the boxwood stringing on the rectangular panels at the top of the seat blocks. In our opinion these losses are barely significant. All legs are in good order with no issues. The height to the underside of the front rail is 17.5 cm. The height to the tallest part of the piece is approximately 45.5 cm.

CONDITION REPORT: Width across arms 70cm, depth of seat 56cm, width between arms at front 52cm, height to top of back 87cm. The chair is structurally very sound with no loose joints. The castors are original. There are some scuffs and marks around the legs as one would expect. The upholstery is serviceable although a little faded in places. There are some minor marks around the tops of the arms. No serious issues.

Lot 1731

A Queen Anne style walnut framed armchair, with stuffover back and seat upholstered in woolwork, with foliate carved arm terminals, exposed front rail and cabriole legs. Width across arms 70 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound. There are no loose joints. We cannot see any repairs to the legs or frame. The arms are in good order, again there do not appear to be any repairs. The chair is in original and restored condition and does have numerous old minor surface scuffs and marks particularly around the bottom of the legs. The upholstery is tired and worn. There are numerous small holes and in reality the chair at least needs re-covering if not fully re-upholstering.

Lot 1864

A set of two carver arm and six single mahogany ladderback dining chairs, late 19th/early 20th century, each with stuffover seat and raised on moulded front legs. CONDITION REPORT: All chairs are structurally in very good condition with no loose joints, no significant damage and no visible repairs. There are some minor surface scratches and blemishes as one would expect but these really are minimal. The seats have clearly been fairly recently upholstered and again are in extremely good condition. One armchair has some minor marks to the seat. One single chair has one small insignificant stain. Another single chair has more substantial discolouration to the seat cover. This is the only real issue with this set of chairs which are otherwise in extremely good order.

Lot 1904

CONDITION REPORT: The stool is structurally sound with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. There are no loose joints. The leather work is all intact. There are traces of stress marks across the tops of the leather in places but the colour is generally good and there are no tears or losses. All studs are present and correct.

Lot 1846

A Victorian walnut ladies chair, with moulded exposed showframe, the back and seat upholstered in scroll and foliate patterned material and all raised on cabriole legs terminating in castors. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound. There are no loose joints and no repairs to the showframe or legs. All castors are original.
