Ultra-rare Kawasaki Z1. Pre-production press bike originally destined for Norway and one of only five survivors world-wide (#90009). Kawasaki's answer to the CB750 launched in 1972 and quickly became an instant classicTwin overhead camshafts and a top speed of 130mphThis 1972 pre-production Press bike is one of c.15 produced for the worldwide launch of the Z1It was number nine off the production line and was shipped to Norway in late 1972 by importer Ter-Rek ASTest ridden by invited journalists and seen by many whilst on display at the Ter-Rek offices in TrondheimUnfortunately, due to the oil crisis in 1973, the 50 bikes ordered for Norway failed to arrive and the importer went out of businessNumber nine was never returned to Japan, unlike its siblings which returned home to be crushed, escaping Kawasaki's instructions, and was registered new in Norway in 1973We believe only five of the press bikes escaped to survive to this day and most are in museumsIts previous owner, Norwegian Kawasaki enthusiast Johan Morstein, researched and sourced as many of the original parts as possible.
