With a 24-inch frame number 796, a significantly original machine finished in two shades of blue (possibly re-enamelled) with box lining and company decals. Featuring Simplex gearing with a seat tube mounted chainwheel changer and a down-tube change, blue Bluemels mudguards, Brooks competition saddle, side-pull ALP braking, 16-inch drop handlebars fitted to a Milremo extension.

A c1951 Hetchins Nulli Secundus. With 22-inch frame numbered H13911, this early bicycle has been finished in light grey and retains Hetchins decals and badging. It comes with a combination Campagnolo five-speed gear with a Benelux chain wheel shifter operated from the seat tube. Also featured are 27-inch Alumlite wheels with large flange hubs, quick release spinners to the front, 18-inch drop handlebars fitted to a GB extension, double bottle holder, leather competition saddle, blue 'All Rounder' Bluemels mudguards, and Berthet Lyotard pedals.
An Arthur S. Gilliot 'Alpine Tourist' Bicycle. A mid 1950s (?) lug less framed machine of 24-inches with a bronze brazed seat tube, pannier carrier and lugs. Featuring Gilliot front forks and Agrati style rear fork ends, chain adjustment is via an eccentric bottom bracket. A 10-speed Cyclo Benelux gearing is fitted with two controls mounted on the cross tube, Endrick rims with wide GB hubs, semi-drop aluminium 19-inch handlebars, mounted on a GB extended stem, Brooks B17 saddle, Mafac centre-pull brakes and finished in a light brown. A frame number was not visible but may be stamped on the rear dropouts beneath the hub nuts.
Joe Cooke Imperial Petrel Semi-lightweight. A bicycle with a celebrated 'Superigid' frame with semi-circular stiffening tubes between the head and down-tube and the seat stays and rear forks. A frame number cannot be identified, possibly due to over-painting. However, although the Sturmey Archer FW rear hub is dated 1947, the bicycle is believed to date from the 1930s. Other features include Chater Lea chain set and pedals, Cantilever braking, 26-inch Roman rims and tyres, 18-inch semi-drop handlebars with cork grips, Brooks B64 saddle and Bluemels mudguards.
A Clément Sprung Frame Lady's Bicycle. Having a 20-inch loop frame and seat post stiffener, incorporating rear fork hinging, and shock absorbing front forks, this single-speed machine features nickel-plated 16-inch semi-upturned handlebars, wooden mudguards, leather saddle, matching wheel rims, a pair of side-pull calliper brakes, small 6-inch chain set and chain jockey wheel, split rubber pedals and woven raffia grips.
OF CIVIL WAR INTEREST - A 17TH CENTURY BASKET HILTED BROADSWORD, 91cm broadsword blade stamped with a German manufacturer's mark at the forte, crude strapwork riveted iron hilt, chiselled bun-shaped pommel, cloth bound wooden grip. This sword was sold as part of the contents of the Padley Hall Collection, lot 90 24 April 2016, Wilkinson's Auctioneers Ltd, realised £1,700 plus premium and VAT. Padley Hall was the seat of Thomas Eyre, a Royalist Captain serving in the King's Troop and reputed to have personally engaged Oliver Cromwell on three separate occasions. For a similar Basket-cage hilt see J1 on page 183 of British Basket Hilted Swords by Cyril Mazansky. The blade a later replacement.
A VERY FINE AND RARE PAIR OF 18TH CENTURY SPANISH (CATALAN) MIQUELET-LOCK BLUNDERBUSS BELT PISTOLS, 11.5inch four-stage barrels with ringturned belled muzzles, engraved to the breech flats Babiray Tadilla, Joseph Manol, Solo demi Diana Sol, further decorated with a flower to the back of the breeches on each flat, the cocks and pan seat with scalloped engraving to the edges, full stocks finely decorated over all with pierced brass inlaid panels and interspersed with brass studs, characteristic angled butts, belt hooks mounted on the left side, brass capped wooden ramrods.

A unique scale mock-up model of the first car that Volvo produced, wood and cast metal construction, blue body with blue spoked wheels, 7cm in length. This model is a mock-up made by Doug McHard of Somerville, inspired by a trip The Volvo Museum in Gothenburg, it is highly detailed in construction, with detachable back seat, and comes with an original photo of Doug with the car, scrambling underneath taking measurements for the model. This is possibly one of the only scale models ever made of this car. (Qty: 1)
