A pair of Queen Anne style wing armchairs, with outswept arms and all raised on shell carved cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet. Height to top of back 120 cm, width across arms 91 cm, height to top of seat +/- 52 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both chairs are in structurally extremely good condition. There are no loose joints. We can see no repairs to any of the legs. The upholstery is also in very good condition with no holes, no repairs and no staining. They have clearly seen very little use. All of the springing appears to be in good order and there is nothing protruding through the webbing or base material.
A 19th century ash and elm Windsor stickback armchair, with shaped seat and raised on turned legs. Width across arms 68 cm, height to top of back 102 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally fairly sound. It has had some old repairs. The front left and right hand spindles are blacksmith made iron with a bolt to the underside of each. The left and right hand spindles beneath the top rail which run through the hoop and down to the seat are also blacksmith made iron with a bolt beneath. There has been a repair to the right hand side top of the top rail (you should be able to see the two screws.) The seat is of good shape and in good order with no significant fractures or damage. The two rear legs and left hand front leg all have the same primitive turning. The front right hand leg is slightly more simple and although old is not the same as the other three. There is a metal brace to the right hand corner of the front edge of the seat.
A Victorian rosewood ladies chair, upholstered in cream cell pattern material with braiding and raised on cabriole legs. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound with no loose joints. There are no repairs to the rear legs. The front left hand leg is in good order. The right hand front leg is structurally sound but has had a repair to the bottom scroll. There appears to have been a break and there is some filler around the scroll. The repair is structurally very sound but a slightly different colour. The upholstery is serviceable. It is a little rubbed in places and very slightly discoloured particularly to the top roll and to a lesser extent on the seat. The springing seems strong and there is nothing protruding through the hessian backing to the underside.
A pair of Chinese moulded pottery conservatory seats, 20th century, decorated with roundels and assorted blossoming flowers and plants to include bamboo, peony and peach, all between decorative bands and in a dark turquoise glaze, 46 cm high, 32 cm wide. CONDITION REPORT: One seat has a 5 cm firing crack to the underside base. Both of these are not of any significant age, possibly no more than 50 years old at the most. There is very light rubbing to the glaze on some of the decorative floral panels but other than that they are free from any obvious chips, cracks or restorations.
A Victorian mahogany nursing chair, with scroll back and raised on short turned and reeded front legs. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally fairly sound. There is no movement at the two front legs. The rear legs do have slight movement at the joints. The exposed show frame has numerous holes, scuffs and marks particularly around the arm areas. There are however no breaks or repairs. The upholstery is in generally good condition with no significant wear. There are some minor old water stains to the seat area but these are faint. The braiding is intact all round.
A Regency mahogany simulated rosewood stool, with rope twist carved carrying handles and moulded exposed showframe. Width 112 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The stool is structurally very sound. There is no movement in the frame. There are no breaks or repairs to the legs or stretchers. There is some wear beneath the flat part of each foot. One of the four carrying handle supports has had a repair where it joins the corner of the seat support. There appears to have been a break which has been pegged. The repair is very strong and there is no movement. At the same side the rope twist carrying handle looks at some point to have been detached but is now secure and fully serviceable. It is possible to see on inspection where the repair has been and there are some small timber losses. The other side of the frame is in good order. Clearly the seat pad requires recovering although the upholstery underneath is in good order. There are traces of long gone woodworm in the cross members and on the legs. In our opinion these are not problematic.
A large Edwardian window seat or dressing stool, upholstered in beige and grey cell patterned material, with fretwork splats and raised on foliate carved cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. Width 104 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The stool is in very good order. The upholstery is clearly fairly recent and in very good order with no staining or discolouration. There are no loose joints. There are no repairs to the legs or frame and all of the fretwork is in good order. The colour is generally good and the piece could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any work.
A set of fourteen Edwardian mahogany Chippendale style dining chairs, two arm and twelve single, two bearing plaques "Hewetson, Milner & Thexston Ltd., Tottenham Court Road" (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: All fourteen chairs are structurally very sound. There are no loose joints and no breaks or repairs to any of the legs or stiles. All of the splat backs appear to be in good condition also and there are none of the usual breaks where the cresting rail joins the side rails or tops of the splats. One chair does have a fracture across the centre of the top rail and there is a small timber loss at this point. This should be visible on our image. This is the only damaged chair. All seats are in reasonably good condition with no significant sagging or any major damage to the covering. All chairs have numerous small scuffs and marks (some greater than others) particularly around the front legs, the front seat rails and the bottom of the rear legs. All of these marks are fairly minor and a clean and wax would probably rectify.

A set of six George III country oak Chippendale style splat back dining chairs, with solid seats and tapered legs of square section. CONDITION REPORT: Five of the six chairs are structurally extremely sound with no loose joints or movement at the back. The sixth chair has very minor movement at the rear joints and on one of the stretchers. All chairs are a similar colour. Two of the chairs have a shrinkage crack between the two panels that make up the seat surface. There is no movement here. One of the two referred to also has an old stress fracture left to right across the seat. Again there is no movement here. The final chair has a stress fracture across the seat surface. There is slight movement at this point. Two of the chairs have very small losses to the bottom corner of one side of the splat back. In our opinion all issues are minor.
An Anglo-Indian carved hardwood armchair, profusely carved with foliage and animal masks. Width across arms 82 cm, height to top of back 98 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The drop in seat has been recovered at least 3 times but is in generally intact however the hessian underneath has deteriorated and is showing through to a woven wicker underside. The springs appear to be in good order. The carved framed appears to be in good order throughout with no signs of any obvious losses, faults or repairs. There is a small 2cm tall x 1cm wide slither of the decorative band running along the bottom missing at the rear, this would appear to have been missing for some time. Also on the rear left hand there is an age split running approx 34.5cm through the frame terminating at the top with a small 3cm x 1cm section of the carved woven band missing a smaller 1cm length section is missing further along. There is a small 7mm x 7mm square section missing in the rail of the arm rest. On the right hand side on the upper section of the inter woven carved band there again is a small section of the band approx 3 cm x 1 cm that has been badly repaired. There are no signs of any woodworm. Although upon reading the faults may seem excessive but having seen a large number of these chairs this is not a bad example and all repairs look to have some age about them and are not recent

The front right hand leg looks to have been broken but again there is no movement. The same comments apply to both rear legs which are structurally very sound but have had old repairs. There is a slight tear and rub through the material on the top left corner of the back. The seat is a little worn. There are no further holes and the condition of the upholstery beneath the outer fabric appears to be reasonably good.
