Ein Paar feine Rokoko-Armlehnsessel, Italien/Venedig, 18. Jhdt. Aufwendiger, teils durchbrochen geschnitzter Holzkorpus. Originale Polimentvergoldung auf orangefarbenem Bolus, teilweise punziert. Auf vier leicht s-förmig geschwungenen, detailliert beschnitzten Beinen die dreiseitig fein gearbeitete, teils durchbrochene und leicht bombierte Zarge mit zentraler Kartuschenschnitzerei. Darauf die erneuerte Gurtung mit Polsterung. Seitlich hochziehende, fein geschnitzte Armlehnen, ebenfalls elegant geschwungen mit volutenartigen Handhaben. Anschließende, gerade Rückenlehne. Mit feinem, rötlichem Seidendamst bezogen. Gesamthöhe 114 cm. Sitzhöhe ca. 50 cm.Zustand: II -Condition Report:Dem Alter entsprechend in guter Erhaltung. Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren. Teilweise restauriert. Zeichen von Wurmstich, nicht aktiv. Bezug partiell berieben. Gurtung, Polsterung und Stoffbezug erneuert. Vergoldung teilweise bestoßen und minimal berieben. Schöne originale Patina.A pair of fine Italian rococo armchairs, Venice, 18th century Elaborate, partly openwork carved wooden corpus. Original poliment gilding on orange-coloured chalk, punched in places. On four slightly s-shaped, curved legs with detailed carving, the three-sided, finely carved, partly openworked and slightly cambered frame with a central carved cartouche. The renewed straps with upholstery on top. Finely carved armrests rising at the sides, also elegantly curved with volute-like handles. Adjoining straight backrest. Covered in fine, reddish silk damask. Total height 114 cm. Seat height approx. 50 cm.Condition: II -Condition Report: In good condition, commensurate with their age. Showing traces of age and use. Partially restored. Traces of worming, not active. The cover rubbed in places. The webbing, upholstery and fabric cover renewed. The gilding scuffed and with minimal rubbing in places. Beautiful, original patina.

Sattelauflage aus fein paspeliertem, mehrfarbigem Leder. Anhängend originale Beriemung mit eisernen Steigbügeln. Exzellent erhaltener Rundhocker, Bronze, römisch, 1. Jhdt. Sechsbeiniger Bronzehocker mit runder, leicht konkaver Sitzfläche. Die Unterkonstruktion besteht aus im Querschnitt quadratischen Beinen, die durch zwei umlaufende Bänder verbunden sind. Das untere Band ist in Durchbruchstechnik mit Wellenranken verziert, das obere ebenfalls mit einem Wellenmotiv. Markiert mit der Bezeichnung GR 792. Intakt. Schöne Patina. Höhe 28,5 cm. Gewicht 4 kg. Ein Meisterwerk römischer Bronzegießerkunst! Vergleichbare Stühle sind z.B. bekannt aus dem Haus des Ephebus und aus dem Haus des Fabius Rufus, beide in Pompeji (Vgl.: Rediscovering Pompeii (Rome 1992), S. 56-57). Ein vergleichbares Stück auch im British Museum (Inv.-Nr. 1856, 1226.667).Provenienz: Aus ostdeutscher Privatsammlung. Zuvor Privatsammlung USA, erworben 1991 in der Merrin Gallery, New York.Zustand: IIAn excellently preserved Roman bronze stool, 1st century Hexapod base with an openwork strut with wave pattern, the legs with square, profiled finials. Circular seat with central depression and down-turned rim. Intact. Beautiful Patina. Height 28.6 cm. Weight 4 kg. A masterpiece of Roman craftmanship. Bronze stools of a similar size have been discovered in Pompeii in the Houses of Ephebus and Fabius Rufus, see the catalogue Rediscovering Pompeii, Rome, 1992, nos. 56-57, and a further example in the British Museum (inv. no. 1856,1226.667).Provenance: East German private collection. Previously in a private collection in the US, acquired in 1991 from Merrin Gallery, New York.Condition: II
