A Chinese hardwood writing desk, late 19th Century, carved with flowerheads, vines and leaves, the arched pierced gallery back above two shelves flanked by a cupboard and three short drawers, the base fitted with two frieze drawers on carved cabriole legs with claw and ball feet, together with a Chinese carved hardwood chair of bamboo design with pierced back above a solid seat and outswept legs.

An account book relating to the William Dowdswell's family seat at Pull Court, Bushley, Worcestershire, 1774-1793, 112pp. of neatly written accounts (approx. 30 entries per page), numerous blank leaves, contemp. reversed calf, slightly worn to extrems., folio William Dowdeswell (1721-1775) politician, Channcellor of the Exchequer. The accounts were commenced shortly before his death under the administration of his wife and continued by her until 1794. The entries are for expenditure and income being kept in running total. The majority of the entries are for running the estate which included rentals received and travel expenses etc. (1)
