A pair of antique Italian carved fruitwood hall chairs. Each with a scroll work cresting rail carved with a mask and formed with herm shaped back rests with pierced panels, having dished seats and raised on pierced scrollwork panel supports, 117cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. One seat cracked. Both with signs of wood worm damage. Minor loss to the extremities. Structurally sound.
JOHN LENNON GARDEN FURNITURE - KENWOOD - a set of white painted iron-work garden furniture with all-over entwined bracken and ivy decoration, comprising: a two seater bench, the undulating top rail above a pierced back with in-curved arms and slatted wooden seat on down-curved legs (90.2x144.8cm) with two matching armchairs (91.1x63.5cm) and a circular low table with concrete top (43.8x67.3cm). The furniture stood on the Kenwood lawn and was originally sold in Christie's Pop and Guitars 1996 sale when sold by Cynthia Lennon (see images from catalogue).

CONDITION REPORT: Heavy wear to table top and surface scratching, with several heavier scratches. Bleaching to top and chairs. Wear and scratches to seats. One chair reglued at stretcher for seat.
A musical longcase clock, the 30.5 cm arched square brass dial signed Thomas Armstrong & Brother, Manchester, the silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, the matt centre with subsidiary seconds dial, and with CHIME/SILENT and WESTMINSTER CHIMES/WHITTINGTON CHIMES subsidiary dials to the arch, the gilt brass spandrels decorated musical instruments, flowers and foliage, fitted an eight day movement striking on eight bells and five gongs, in a mahogany case, inlaid with urns, bows, scrolling acanthus leaves and foliage, 236 cm high See inside back cover colour illustration Condition report ReportWith three brass cased weights, a pendulum, winding key and trunk door key.Report by MWThe movement has eight bells, and there are eight hammers, there are also five gongs which have five hammers. The movement looks dirty and would benefit from cleaning but would appear complete. There is evidence of restoration work to the case including new seat board and cheeks.
A longcase clock, of unusually slender form, the 16 cm square brass dial with alarum disk, and having Roman numerals, fitted a 30 hour movement, in a tall and narrow walnut case, 206 cm high See illustration Condition report ReportThe trunk is 19.5 cm wide, with a trunk door key, two weights and a pendulum, probably later, hinges replaced on trunk door, as is the lock, some splits and old repairs, the hood door hinge is replaced. Various scrapes and other damages.Report by MWThe hood has had some repairs and new wood let in, including the sound boards on all three sides. The top moulding has been re-glued on both sides. There is a large split running side to side. On the top board, there are two large shrinkage splits, one on either side of the side panels. Also the hood door does not fit very well with a pronounced gap at the top. The movement sits on a new seat board and also the cheeks have been replaced. The trunk door has replacement hinges and is slightly warped. The right hand side of the case, when looking straight on, has been repaired with nail heads showing through and it would appear that the back board has been replaced.
