An Edwardian satinwood and painted bergère caned tub chair with single caned back centred with an oval medallion, double caned arms with turned uprights and raised on square section tapering legs to spade feet. Provenance: From a private Worcestershire collection.Additional InformationThe arms are double caned and there is damage to both of these. The back has clearly been re-caned and it is probable that this originally was also double backed. You can see the marks beneath the canework on the frame, which is rather untidy. General surface rubbing to the arms. The seat is torn and giving, therefore this would require complete restoration of the caning.
A pair of Edwardian stained beech and painted elbow chairs with turned top rail above down swept arms, bergère caned seat and turned tapering legs united by stretchers, height 80cm.Provenance: From a private Worcestershire collection.Additional InformationBoth are simulated beech intended to look like satinwood. On one of the chairs, the bergère caning has gone completely, on the second chair it is starting to give. Both are of relatively sound construction, have general surface wear to the arms, with some of the paint now lost through to rubbing. General surface marks throughout.
A 17th century style carved oak joint stool, on turned legs, height 46cm, width 45.5cm, depth 27cm, with a stained oak stool with woven leather seat, height 41cm, width 40.5cm, depth 30.5cm, with a nest of two stained oak occasional tables, height 51.5cm, width 60.5cm, depth 30.8cm (4).Additional InformationThe nest of two tables heavily throughout, the leather topped stool with general age wear, rubbing to the staining and scuffs but essentially fair, the joint stool with some sun fading and general age wear.
A pair of Victorian lacquered papier mache children's chairs decorated throughout with gilt and painted floral motifs, with caned seats, on turned legs with splayed feet, height 60cm (2).Additional InformationOne of the caned seats is in poor condition and will need replacing, the other caned seat is better but the caning is probably not original. General age related craquelure to the finish throughout, other general scuffs and nicks here and there commensurate with age and use. A little tired but overall fair
A Victorian walnut spoon back armchair of serpentine outline with carved detail to knees on castors.Additional InformationSplit through the left arm with crude repair, further chips and losses, touch ups and other split to the further splits to frame, obvious repairs where the arms meet the back of the seat, further scuffs, scrapes, touch ups and repairs including to the right foot above the castor, upholstery somewhat tired.

Heavy general wear throughout, feels loose, stains and fraying, thinning and general tiredness to upholstery, some lifting to brass detail etc.

Some of the joints are slightly open at the top. General scuffs and wear around all four of the legs. The carved cresting bar to the top of the back is cracked to the left hand side, this may have been detached and re-glued but not recently, overall fair.

It has clearly been re-gilded at some stage. Of a sound construction, missing the very top section of the scroll on the top rail.
GILLOWS; a pair of Victorian carved rosewood side chairs, with scroll carved backs and floral upholstered seats, on cabriole legs, height 83cm, each chair stamped to the underside of the seat. Additional InformationOne of the chairs has three breaks to the small sea scroll sections at the top of the back. The upholstery is later, some old worm holes hear and there but nothing living. General light age wear patina to the wood throughout. One of the walnut chairs with repairs to the carved detailing below the oval splat, one a little loose to the joints of the upper section of the chair. Both with general age wear scuffs and marks.
A 19th century ebonised rush seated bobbin corner chair, together with an elm ladder back rush seated chair and two similar examples (4).Additional InformationThe joints are loose on the corner chair, heavy wear to the rush seat on the single chair, one of the pair has been cut down, knocks, scuffs. Height of tallest chair 88.5cm.
A set of four stained beech folding garden or beach chairs with later upholstered backs and seats on rectangular legs, height 88cm, and an early 20th century Vono folding games table, top 76 x 76cm (5).Additional InformationAll are a little messy where the upholstery has been done, there are many old holes and marks from where previous upholstery nails have sat. The front left join of one of the X frames where it meets the bar for the seat is open and will need re-gluing or fixing back into position. The varnish surface is possibly not original. Despite faults overall appearance ok.

The splat to the stained beech chair with blue needlework seat has been glue repaired and the left upright support has also been broken and glue repaired. The low chair is lacking both finials to the uprights and the splat is also repaired and has a chip, the back left leg with a chip at the base. All a little tired with some attention needed.
A near set of four 19th century yew wood and ash Windsor chairs, the stick hooped backs with pierced splats and scrolling arms above saddle shaped seats on turned legs with crinoline stretchers, height 91cm.Additional InformationChair 1 - old crack to the arm hoop back on the right hand side. One crack to the pierced splat. Old cracks to the two turned uprights for the arms at the front. The upper hoop with a crack along the top and also to the right hand side at about 2 o'clock. Front right leg also with some cracks.Chair 2 - some old worm damage and gnarling to the scroll of the front left arm, a few slight cracks to the turned uprights for the arms. Chair 3 - the turned upright arm to the left side has been reconnected, there is old polish over resin filler repair to the top of the arm. There is an old crack to the very top of the hoop. Two cracks to the splat. Chair 4 - the main arm hoop is split to the front where it joins to the splat, the crinoline stretcher has a repair to the centre of the hoop and the spindles are a little loose where they join into the crinoline. Both back legs have been re-attached to the solid seat. All four chairs with general age related patina of knocks and rubbing throughout consistent with age and use.Seat height 44cm.
