090 - - Mathias Hornung. Kommunikation. 2020. Farbholzschnitt, Offsetfarben auf beschichtetem Zeichenpapier. Unikat. 90 x 120 cm. Ungerahmt. Mathias Hornung arbeitet im Grenzbereich zwischen Fläche und Raum. Am Anfang waren Holzschnitte - aus den Druckstöcken wurden Reliefs, Skulpturen und Tischobjekte. Gleichzeitig entstanden Drucke mit ausgeprägt räumlicher Wirkung. Zerfall, Zerstörung von Strukturen und latente Bedrohung charakterisieren die inhaltliche Ebene dieser Arbeiten. "Kommunikation" entstand aus Abdrucken von "Air Seat". Im Unterschied zu komplexeren Farbexperimenten des Künstlers lebt diese Arbeit von der Reduktion und darf als humorvoller Kommentar auf die Möglichkeiten zwischenmenschlicher Begegnungen gelesen werden. - Mathias Hornung, geboren 1965, studierte nach einer Ausbildung als Maschinenbauer Bühnen- und Kostümbild an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart-Weissenhof bei Peter Grau und Jürgen Rose. Seit 1993 lebt und arbeitet er in Berlin; zahlreiche Ausstellungen im In- und Ausland.
