A 19th century hall chair, stained mahogany and beech, with caned back and seat, turned supports and scroll carved, ball finials, 58 by 64 by 135cm high, purportedly once belonged to the Marquis of Huntley and came from Cotterstock Hall, together with a book showing photo of the Marquess of Huntley seated in an almost identical chair, and a framed guest rooming list from a grouse shooting party, August 1895, at Lowther Castle, showing the German Kaiser was one of the guests - Hugh Lowther, the Fifth Earl of Lonsdale, was married to the third daughter of the Marquess of Huntley. A George III Thames Valley Windsor armchair, by John Prior of Uxbridge, with elm seat stamped 'I. Prior Uxbridge', stained beech and yew wood high hoop back, shaped and pierced splat carved with Prince of Wales feathers motif, raised on turned back legs and later added carved cabriole front legs with pad feet, a/f cracked seat, stretcher missing, and replacement front legs, 74 by 53 by 115cm high.
