Supplied with a CD player         . Fitted with the original interior         . Fitted with disc brakes, electronic ignition, alternator and spin on oil filter conversion         . Offered with a collection of paperwork dating back to 1970 Outside  This characterful Moggy is suffering from rust and bubbling on most exterior panels that will need some sort of treatment to delay the spread. All 4 Bridgestone tyres are in good order with plenty of tread remaining. Inside  The red vinyl and carpet interior presents better than the exterior, with some sagging in the drivers seat base, drivers door pull strap is looking thread bare and there is a tear in the vinyl in the foot well area. The carpets are in good condition front and rear as is the headlining and rear bench seat.  Mechanicals The engine starts and runs well and we've driven the car around the yard, been through all the gears and used the brakes, which work as well as you'd expect.  History  Supplied new on 1st March 1966 and registered by Lancashire County council and still pleasingly carrying its original registration number. Updated over the years with the sensible modifications of front disc brakes, alternator, electronic ignition and a spin on oil filter which all make for a much more useable vehicle and potentially a daily driver.  Our Opinion  Clearly the Morris has some issues to areas of the bodywork it already has some desirable upgrades mentioned above, so this is a car that can be used, enjoyed and improved as and when time allows. The Minors are great fun to own, easy to work on, with a plentiful supply of inexpensive spare parts and supported by the superb Morris Minors owners club.

The latest record of work completed is 23rd April 2021 from marque experts and Rolls-Royce main dealer P&A Wood amounting to £3924.06. Pleasingly there is a full book pack in the correct wallet and two sets of keys. Our opinion A rare opportunity to acquire one of only 1570 of these models produced. Our car has been used regularly and for those who know these cars this is a good thing. More importantly, it has been serviced as and when required which is evidenced with a fully stamped service book.   All Seraphs were hand built at the Rolls-Royce factory in Crewe. The car had a base price of £155,175 in the UK and was powered by a 5.4 litre aluminium alloy BMW V12 engine, making it the first twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce since the 1939 Phantom 111. Aside from the radiator grille, badges and wheels, the Rolls-Royce was externally identical to the contemporary Bentley Arnage, sharing both its platform and bodyshell. Inside, the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage were similar but quite distinct from one another. In the Seraph, the gear selector was column-mounted, and the gauges followed a traditional Rolls-Royce layout (for example, there was no tachometer). In both cars, the seats and dashboard were upholstered in Connolly leather, with dashboard trim and folding picnic trays for rear passengers and burr walnut veneer.

There is a rust hole on the inner rear offside wheel arch which is often the case with these cars. Inside  Cloth interior with twin electric sunroofs fitted. The seats, carpets and door cards and in good order though the headlining is sagging in the rear and there is a small tear just behind the driver’s seat. The dashboard does not have any cracks or sun damage. The gear lever gaiter is worn and discoloured. Mechanicals  The 3.9 litre V8 engine starts readily and settles down to a smooth idle. Our Opinion An extremely rare opportunity to acquire a V8 manual discovery. Our car benefits from a history file that supports its modest mileage. The centre caps have also dulled with age and can be replaced inexpensively.   Inside  The interior of this Boxster is near perfect which can only be faulted on the slightest of wear on the drivers seat bolster. The black carpets are good and the cabin is dry and damp free. It also has that familiar Porsche smell which seems to have disappeared  in the later generation cars.   Mechanical The car pulls well through all 6 gears and stops effectively and straight, with the Super Sound sports exhaust not being too intrusive as some can be. All the while you are accompanied by the throaty flat 6 induction noise from that wonderful 3.2 S engine.   All for tyres are in good condition with plenty of tread left.  History   The service history book has 5 stamps from various Porsche centres the last being Porsche Centre West London in 2015 at 33,380 from which time the maintenance is taken over by specialists including Zuffenhaus, RPM Specialist Cars and Paul Garland. Offered with a full book pack which evidences a full and comprehensive service history from new, its clear this Porsche has been lovingly maintained throughout its life.  On the road, the Porsche is a delight to drive, the clutch being light and the whole package is tight and responsive. No need to use the audio equipment, just drop the roof and listen to the fabulous exhaust note. This car wants for nothing and is ready to use and enjoy for the season, and sure fire solid investment.

A good fun car that would be happy either as a daily driver or weekend Samurai warrior.

Lot 20

1956 Mercedes Benz 300 Adenauer 3 litre automatic 4 door saloon Highly desirable right-hand drive and automatic variant   Registration: NFO 136 Chassis:1860166500258 Odometer: 71000 Transmission:  Automatic MOT: Exempt • Offered with a comprehensive history file and Mercedes handbook • Bills on file for circa £30,000 for restoration work over the past decade • Original specification interior  • Subject of a bare metal respray  • Highly desirable automatic variant   Guide £30,000-£35,000        Outside Finished in the period colour Black which suits the car very well. There are luggage nets on the front seats. Mechanicals  The Mercedes starts readily and the engine is like a turbine in its operation. The starting procedure must be unique in that the gear selector lever is pushed foreword to engage the starter motor. The brakes and gearbox all appear to be as they should be and the suspension is supple. History There is a comprehensive history file with the car and most importantly the invoices from renowned restorer Stewart Walker engineers in 2014 amounting to circa £30,000 covering the restoration work.  Pleasingly we also have many photographs that detail the restoration work including the bare metal repaint. Our Opinion These cars we built to the very highest standards by skilled craftsmen at the Mercedes-Benz factory. They were fearsomely expensive and often used as Government vehicles or by Royalty. Our car is highly desirable being an automatic variant which suits these cars very well indeed. The 300 was delivered new to Kenya then imported into the UK around 1983 as evidenced by paperwork in the history file. These cars rarely come to the market and they offer the very highest quality motoring a relatively modest outlay.

Lot 37

1966 Ford F250 6400CC Pick Up Registration: GVU667D Chassis: F25YK808943 Odometer: 13565 Transmission: Manual MOT: Exempt  . Californian import   . Harley Davidson tribute   . Solid chassis and body work   . 4 on the floor manual transmission  . Power steering  . Servo assisted brakes Outside  Finished in gloss orange and matt black as a tribute to Harley Davidson the recent paintwork is in excellent order with no rust or blemishes. The chrome work all looks good as does the oak flooring in the load area which looks as though its never had anything in it. There are some badges missing from the wings and bonnet which the vendor says were stolen when he exhibited the truck at a local show. It has a modern rear step bumper fitted along with tow ball which again looks new. The truck rides on 20 inch alloy wheels with near new General Grabber A/T's all around.  Inside Up front there's a 3 seat vinyl and velour bench seat in maroon with seat belts for all 3 occupants the headlining is also maroon to match.   The exposed metal work of the interior and steering wheel is finished in the same orange as the exterior which along with a period push button stereo isn't as bad as it may sound on paper.  Mechanicals  The 6.4 litre V8 engine runs beautifully breathing through a Holley carb and what looks like recently fitted exhaust tailpipes. Looking under the bonnet its evident there's a few welcome additions including a new filter king fuel pressure regulator, power steering and servo assisted brakes. Driving the truck is quite an experience, the silky V8 engine pulls very well through the "4 on the floor" manual gearbox working seamlessly between ratios with the drum brakes performing surprisingly well when asking for a decrease in speed. The underside of the vehicle is in excellent condition as is usually the case with the Californian imports, if its to be used through the winter on UK roads some form of rust preventive coating would be advisable.  History Other than the V5C we have no other history with the car which was first registered in the UK in 2016 and has had 3 former owners. The vendor informs us that the engine was subject to a service in the summer of 2022.  Our Opinion  What an eye full this expertly finished truck is, if you want to get noticed then this is the one for you. With the desirable manual gearbox coupled to the powerful V8 engine, power steering and servo assisted brakes it would make a great usable truck either for work or pleasure.

On a two mile test , the car performed very well with sharp brakes , precise steering , smooth gearchanges and firm suspension. The engine pulls very well and emits a lovely exhaust note. The TR benefits from an electric Kenlowe fan , oil cooler and an electronic ignition. History There is a comprehensive history file dating back until 1976 with bills and MOT certificates. It is always pleasing to handle a car that has been in long term ownership and this is exceptional being bought by Mr Woods of SW18 , London in 1967 who kept the car registered at the original address until he parted with it in 2009 . It is always reassuring when you can identify the scope of the works carried out during the restoration process and this file certainly does that in great detail. Our Opinion This is a truly delightful example of the highly desirable iteration of the venerable TR range, These IRS models are highly sought after and our example has been properly restored and being a original home market right hand drive car is the one to have. Long term ownership , professional and a documented restoration process ; this car really is one for the true enthusiast and collector , a very safe place to put your money and much more fun than some share certificates or and ISA.

The bodywork appears to be free of rust in all the usual areas of the bottom of the doors, wings and sills. The paintwork is in fair overall order though there is a small dent and scratch on the off side rear wing and a few stone chips to the bonnet area. The chrome is reasonable though there is some pitting and the rear bumper is very dull and would benefit from chrome paint which is an economical alternative. The wheels are in good order with the trims and hub caps without damage. The tyres are matching Federal classic radials and have plenty of tread. Inside  The interior of the Rover is a very nice place to sit with delightful patinated brown leather interior that is without any rips or tears. It is worth noting that one of the seams on the rear seat needs stitching. The woodwork is dull and could be polished if required. The wood area to the driver’s door window has a small crack.  The door cards are in fair order though the lower carpet panel on the drivers door shows some wear . The carpets are reasonable though the drivers footwell has signs of damage. The headlining is very good and pleasingly the dashboard light is operational. The correct tool kit sits under the dashboard and still contains the two correct grey touch up paints. The dashboard and instruments are all in good order. Mechanicals   The Rover fires into life and the six-cylinder engine is silky smooth and sounds very good indeed with no undue noises or rattles. Driving around our yard the P4 ran well, stopping in a straight line with sharp brakes, supple suspension and smooth gear changes. History There is very little paperwork with the car apart from a V5c, old MOT certificate and an invoice from 2016 detailing the recommissioning work to the value of £2469.89. Our Opinion  These cars are hugely undervalued and are an inexpensive route to the fabulous world of classic luxury motoring. The Rover is in delightful patinated condition which means it can be used without fear of damage. These cars are easy to maintain, spares readily available and supported by the excellent Rover Sports register car club.

1973 Volkswagen GT Beetle 1584cc 2 door saloon  Only showing 21800 miles on the odometer and one of only 2500 cars produced Registration: PPF 905L Chassis: 1132349819 Odometer: 21851 Transmission: Manual MOT: Exempt Guide £600,0 to £8,000  . Offered on behalf of a deceased estate  . Rare and desirable 1600 GT   . One of only 2500 produced in 1973  . Original interior  Outside  The lovely original colour yellow lemon paintwork isn't too far from the JCB machines we sell lots of here at Gateway, and has been re-painted some time ago to a good standard. That said, there are a few imperfections, namely; rust bubble on the lower part of the bonnet around 5mm in size, some surface rust is showing on the far edges of both sides of the roof gutters where they meet engine cover panel, n/s rear 1/4 panel where wing meets the panel is bubbling with rust and will need rectification before it gets hold, on the same panel near where the rear of the window is there is some bubbling rust around 2 inches in diameter and finally where the ariel bolts through the scuttle panel there has been some rust which has been treated and touched up. Both front and rear bumpers chrome is pitted with rust which a bit of elbow grease could remove the majority of. The steel wheels are in good condition with matching Firestone tyres all round.  Inside  The interior of this GT is very original with no rips or tears in the seats or carpets and its headlining is nice and taught with no damage.  It has been retrofitted with a Pioneer stereo and speaker system and some inertia rear seat belts.   Mechanicals The engine fires into life with vigor and runs sweetly with an accompanying familiar flat 4 burble. It pulls well through all the gears with the selection being positive, that extra few horses supplied by the GT engine are certainly noticeable.  History  The accompanying paperwork is limited to hand full of maintenance invoices from 2015/16 which show some remedial works and a service.  Our Opinion  A great entry into the vibrant air cooled VW scene, this desirable GT model adds a small amount of performance to the unique characteristics of these wonderful cars. We think the colour makes this car and is ready to be enjoyed for the season ahead while improving some of its imperfections detailed above.

Lot 5

1938 Rover 10 1398cc 4 door saloon Original brown leather seating and registration number  Registration:  EYL 698 Chassis: 802230 Odometer: 92,000 Transmission:  Manual MOT: Exempt No Reserve Outside Finished in the very traditional pre-war colour of black. Whilst there is no signs of rust on the body , the paint has issues all over the car , looking good from 10 feet but closer inspection reveals micro blistering to most panels which some may say adds to the charm and usability. The chrome is aged but in serviceable condition and matches the paint , though the Lucas side lights have lost all there finish and are down to the under paint. The wheels are in good order and the tyres have plenty of tread depth. Inside This is where the magic of this car really shines. The seats are original and in fine condition with the exception of the seam on the offside rear seat having a split and a small tear on the front passenger seat. The door cards and headlining are without issue. Mechanicals  The Rover starts readily and when driven around our yard appeared to perform well, stopping and steering as sit should though we have not had the opportunity to test if the Freewheel function is operational. History This charming Rover was registered in London central on 2nd June 1938. Sadly, little is known about its history other than it has had five former keepers and been in the current ownership since 2015. Our Opinion This is an inexpensive opportunity to enter the fabulous world of pre-war motoring. The Rover is in delightful patinated condition which means it can be used without fear of damage and of course would allow entry to the highly popular “oily rag” events. These cars are easy to maintain , spares readily available and supported by the excellent Rover Sports register car club.

Lot 8

1989 Volkswagen Golf GTI 1.8 litre 3 door hatchback Original specification hot hatch with comprehensive history file  Registration: F386 TWP Chassis: WVWZZZ19ZJW668007 Odometer: 121000 Transmission: Manual MOT: 9th February 2024 No Reserve   . Fitted with factory tilt /slide sunroof   . Optional BBS alloy wheel    . Original interior and dashboard without any cracks   . Two sets of keys   . Fully documented history from 1998 until 2005   . Full book pack including service book   . Comprehensive history file  Outside  On the whole the exterior of this car looks good with no scratches, dents or corrosion to the bodywork, however the car has been subject to a repaint at some point in its past which hasn't been done to the highest standard. In some areas the silver paint work looks a little flat and isn't as smooth to the touch as it should be. This shouldn't detract from what is a very good car and would be an excellent car one the paintwork has been addressed. All the plastics are good with no damage, marks or scratches. The 15" BBS alloy wheels look great and are shod with excellent matching tyres all around.  Inside  The cloth seats are in excellent order with only a small sign of wear on the drivers seat base bolster where the bolster is slightly thread bare in an area around 5 mm in size. The car comes with electric windows and a modern stereo. All carpets are in good order as is the headlining and the parcel shelf is still present and free from any speaker holes. The doors have that familiar heavy feel and pleasing shut noise only found on VW's from this era.   Mechanics The torquey 8 valve engine starts and runs well, and the driving experience is a pleasure. Everything feels tight and solid just like a Golf should, the only fault being a temperamental cheap aftermarket alarm system which means the hazard lights sometimes come on. We feel it would be better removed.  History Supplied new under lease to Banque Paribas it remained with them until circa 1991. It then passed to another owner before being acquired by William Barnaby of Kilmarnock in 1998 who kept the car until 2005 during which time kept a fastidious log of all works carried out along with the relevant invoices. The car comes complete with a full book pack, comprehensive service history and two sets of keys. Our Opinion  Rare to find an example that has not been modified and messed about with. Our car offers and inexpensive route into the vibrant VW scene.
