A set of six Charles II joined oak Yorkshire chairs, circa 1660, having a pair of arched splats carved scrolling centre by a mask, with cusp-profiled upper edge and horse-shoe shaped lower edge with curved projections, the back uprights with inward facing scroll terminals above scratch-carving and applied split-moulding, panelled seat, on block and ball-turned front legs, joined by an elongated ball-turned fore-rail and plain side and rear stretchers; together with another chair in a similar style.100cm H (7)
A Staffordshire pearlware Toby Jug, circa 1790, of traditional form modelled holding a jug in both hands, a pipe leaning against the chair leg to his right, his frock coat washed in grey, with green waistcoat, yellow breeches, the handle and rear part of the chair picked out in green, all upon a canted square base, 23.5cm high (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The piece shows evidence of restoration to the hat and boots, and possible restoration to the held jug. There are firing cracks to the handle, the left sleeve, the legs where they join the seat, the interior of the handle, and the handle of the held jug. There is the odd firing pit and frit, and various small glazing faults to the surface. The piece shows surface crazing throughout, including craze lines to the handle which run around the exterior to the interior.

Blocks added with glue deposits to the underside joints, one rear leg has a worn rounded foot, overall general heavy marks and scuffs.

* A harlequin set of eight ash, elm and alder Lancashire spindle back chairs, 19th century, each with two rows of turned spindles over an envelope rush seat, raised upon turned front legs, to include two carver chairs each with three rows of spindles, heights 110cm and 100cm (8)Copndition reportThree of the chairs have had spliced repairs to the feet, raising the seat height to 47cm, each of the chairs have very slight 'sagging' in the rush seats, otherwise the joints are firm with little or no play and general wear commensurate with age and use.Both carvers have seats at 45cm, one has a replaced arm, the other with light wear to the arms, the rush seats have been re -worked and therefore have little or no wear, general wear and marks commensurate with age and use, little or no play in the joints.Of the other three chairs, two have had historic worm with some minor chips and losses due to the worm and possible further repairs hidden by stain, although both chairs appear firm with little or no play, both chairs with re worked seats, the third chair with slight play in the joints but otherwise general commensurate wear only, seat height 45cm
