A set of eight Carolean style high back oak dining chairs with bergere seats and back panels, circa 1900. Height to top of back 134 cm, width across seat front 48 cm. CONDITION REPORT: These chairs are in generally very good order with only very minor blemishes. The blemishes are in the main to the very top of each seat frame where there are nibbles to the very top scrolls on four of the chairs. These are old losses and not really of any significance. The canework is in generally good order and only slightly sagging on the seats. This is not caused by the cane pulling away from the frame but rather by slight stretching. The chairs are all nice and tight with no loose joints. There is no evidence of any woodworm.
