Four late 19th/early 20th century German chair tapestry designed panels, comprising two floral decorated shaped back designs and two rounded rectangular seat designs, both hand painted on grid backgrounds, inscribed in German and numbered, the larger designs 48 x 32cm, the smaller designs 33 x 34cm, all framed and glazed (4). CONDITION REPORT: Foxing to two largest. Two 4 inch tears form bottom edge of both. No apparent stamp in ink. See photo for company name.
A George III oak box seat settle, the triple panel back above swept arms, hinged seat and panel front, width 122cm. CONDITION REPORT: On the seat there's evidence of 4 replaced hinges to the top. Three new blocks holding the split top of the underside of the seat. Lock missing. some minor losses. Base appears to be replacement.
A good Bells Insight Cylinder musical box, Swiss circa 1880 with alterations. The 33cm cylinder playing twelve airs, listed on a facsimile tune sheet number 32720 accompanied by six saucer bells, the seat board replaced, contained within a rosewood and simulated rosewood hinged box, the top finely inlaid with musical instruments and flowers and leaves enclosed by line inlays, the front transfer decorated with musical instruments, music, leaves and blooms raised upon bracket feet working order. 32cms high by 66cms by 38.5cms (illustrated).
A 19th century inlaid mahogany three train longcase clock with a 35.5cm brass and silvered dial signed in the centre J Callcot, Cotton with subsidiary seconds dial and outer date calendar, eagle, urn and leaf spandrels, the lunar calendar painted with a masted vessel and a castle in landscape, the three train movement striking on a saucer bell and eight graduated bells, the case with a swan neck cresting above fluted hood columns, the trunk with a shaped crossbanded door, fluted quarter columns raised upon a plinth base, well figured wood and bracket feet, overall inlaid with line inlays and checkering, approximately 229cms high, with pendulum, three weights and a winding key, (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Swan neck cresting good condition. The door original glass, a piece of veneer possibly replaced on the right hand side, small piece on the bottom right hand corner. paint work to the lunar calendar good condition. The case in good condition. Original back board, plinth on good condition. Minor scratches to the canted angles. The seat board replaced, movement not checked.
A George III mahogany longcase clock with a 33cm brass and silvered dial signed with a plaque J.Kaye, Liverpool with subsidiary seconds ring against a leaf and lattice ground, outer date calendar, Roman and Arabic numerals, cast leafy spandrels, the arch painted with a dwelling in landscape, the case with a swan neck and leafy cresting, minor reductions, fluted columns above a blind fret work carved frieze, shaped long door in well figured wood, fluted quarter columns raised upon a panelled plinth base and ogee bracket feet, 226cms high with pendulum, two weights and a winding key, (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: The centre above the swan neck and flower cresting has been cut, glazed door original, glazing to door original, chaptering bright, centre and spandrels good bright condition, some dentil moulding missing beneath the hood, right hand side approx. 14cms, small piece to the left approx 2cm, small piece on the angle on the left hand side 5cms, right hand side going back to the wall three small pieces, blind fret carving on the front frieze good, blind fret frieze left hand side section missing at the back approx. 8cms, some blind fret cover missing on the right hand side approx. 7 cms, good well figured door, well figured plinth, bracket foot on the right front missing, original back board, original seat board, just below the seat board there is a rectangular section cut away possibly infilled with later piece of wood.
