FINE PAIR OF GEORGE III MAHOGANY AND UPHOLSTERED GAINSBOROUGH CHAIRS MADE FOR HACKWOOD PARK, CIRCA 1765 the arched backs and serpentine seats covered in foliate pattern silk fabric with reeded outscrolling arms above shaped aprons, raised on carved cabriole legs ending in scroll feet with castors, one of the seat rails inscribed in pencil `north` Provenance: Purchased from Michael Lipitch Ltd in 2003.
