A George III mahogany side chair, late 18th century, the rectangular back with shaped toprail, the supports and stretchers with Chinese Chippendale fretwork, together with a chair to match, of recent manufacture (2)Condition Report: George III chair - solid and stable, the seat rails are visable, the rear rail appears to be a replacement, the others with age, some old tackmarks and signs of old woodworm, signs of later glue to the supporting timber, this has probably been restored - the legs are polished, the spandrells with some old breaks and repairs, probably some later elements here too. 20th century chair - solid and stable, this is very fresh to the seat rails, the legs are darkly stained to simulate the period chair, as catalouged this of recent manufacture - the period chair was perhaps taken apart to aid the manufacture of this chair, both were probably then upholstered at the same time as the manufacturing processthe chairs each measure: 99cm high, 61cm wide, 63cm deep    Condition Report Disclaimer

A set of twelve ebonised and parcel gilt armchairs, in Regency style, 20th century, after the manner of John Gee, each with a crescent shaped rattan back with central quiver of arrows motif Condition Report: Overall these chairs condition reflect lack of significant age and use, the chairs are all stable, there is some minor opening to some joints, there is some untidyness to the painted finish, there is some wear and chipping to the paint - this is mainly to the arms where it reveals a gilt layer below. there appears to be some refreshing in places, probably from wear, the canework appears intact to the backs and the seats, the seat cushions are removable pads, there are ties to the rear to secure them to the frames.
