A WWI period twin blade propeller for a 130HP Samson engined Voisin two seat bomber by W D Oddy & Co, Leeds:, the laminated blades with reinforced tip stamped to the boss 'WD Oddy & Co 58-2311 130HP Salmson Voisin 1499', also stamped with War Department dates 'WD 29.4.17', remains of Oddy & Co transfer label to each blade, 285cm long. *Notes- The British Voisin LA was an improved version of the French aircraft originally designed in 1912 as a bomber and ground attack aircraft. A two seat pusher plane with light steel frame, it was a versatile aircraft and notable for becoming one of the first dedicated bombers. Powered by Salmson engines it had a range of 175miles with a top speed of 70mph and a ceiling height of 11,485ft. Advances in other aircraft design by the end of the war made the Voisin obsolete.
