An H. B. Smith Company, Smithville N.J., Special Pony Star Safety Bike, 1885-1891, Designed by George W. Pressey, Hammonton, New Jersey, USA, 1881. Model no. 3715. Together with a custom made museum stand. Front Wheel: diameter: 24 in. Rear Wheel: diameter: 40 in. h: 46.50 x w: 65 in. Note condition: in full working order (rideable), lacking seat, professionally restored and leather, rubber and spokes replaced. Surface refinished and repainted and breaks in working order. The break has a hairline crack due to age.

US Pre- Civil War Pattern 1847 Grimsley Dragoon SaddleCa 1850s. Copper nameplate in horn section reads Earle A. Royce Willsboro New York. Saddle measures 19.75" from pommel to cantle. Leather in the seat section of the saddle is a period replacement and is void of its original quilted pattern. This was common practice to replace the quilted padded leather since by its inherent nature the padded leather did not have a long lifespan. Brass furniture throughout.Thornton Grimsley was a saddle maker in St. Louis, MO. These saddles had deep-seated trees and a very high cantle that were inspired by Spanish/Mexican saddles that were popular at the time. Grimsley saddles were used by General U.S. Grant, General Thomas Sherman and General Robert E. Lee. [See Caba, 1982: 35-45. See also Dorsey and McPheeters, 1999: 19-21.] Condition: Very good. Lacking one brass rivet on front of pommel, otherwise leather is supple and is complete.Starting Price: $1500

Complete with eight leather bosses. Stirrup on near side is present, but off side stirrup is missing. Condition: Very good. White paint specks cover parts of the saddle.Starting Price: $300
