Garden Seat:A Coalbrookdale Medallion pattern cast iron seat last quarter 19th century fully stamped CBDale & Co and with diamond registration stamps 170cm.; 67ins wide This design, number 149934, was registered and patented at the Public Records Office by Coalbrookdale on 13th March 1862, and is seat no. 35 in their 1875 Coalbrookdale Castings Catalogue, section III page 259 (see engraving) ++One old repair on back of left hand side of seat, repaired with an old victorian wrought iron bracket.
Impressive Victorian carved oak Baronial throne chair in the Carolean revival taste, with crowned helm cresting and knights helm arm terminals with feather crests, original upholstered padded seat, back and arms, on spiral-twist supports, 124cm high x 73cm wide. Provenance: Sold with letters of provenance stating it was believed to have been used by Queen Victoria at the Great Exhibition of 1851 CONDITION REPORT Cresting split across base and loose, otherwise good solid original condition - rather dirty overall. One of the helmet visor bars is broken on the right arm terminal
