A British Martin Patent ejector seat British Patent Nos. 583257, 640520, serial No. 48 ( possibly early 1950s ), seat without leather cushion, with a plaque inscribed 'DANGER DO NOT PULL HANDLE', approx 140cm high. Sir James Martin, Captain Valentine Baker founded Martin-Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd. in 1934. The company began as an aircraft maker before becoming a pioneer in the field of ejector seats. Since the first live ejection test in 1945, the company claim that over 8000 lives have been saved by ejector seats and the company supply ejection seats for 95 air forces worldwide.

There are numerous repairs to the frame in areas, including the broken leg, the inlay to decorative roundel and other areas and legs. * The front leg where the patera inlay is repaired has also previously been broken and repaired.  The seat rails are not visible - being concealed by a dust sheet. Other knocks, scuffs and wear commensurate with use and age. In our opinion, the sofa dates from the George III period.

A SET OF EIGHT REGENCY MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS (8)On sabre legs, stamped ‘GEE’, including a pair of carvers (one with a replacement top rail)Condition report: A repaired set - one carver has a top rail which has been replaced with a plainer rail, many other chairs with repaired top rails where they join the upright supports. The seats are re-caned, beneath the later padded lift-off seat. The caning is generally in good order, although one with a hole at the back. The seat rails are stamped ‘GEE’ and with some variable initials. Some of the stamps are concealed by the caning. The central horizontal splats with odd roundels - seven with one plain and one leaf carved, the plain one a replacement for each chair. One side chair with two plain replacement roundels.Various other inevitable scuffs, scratches, dents, some chips (notably to some  feet) and marks commensurate with wear, use and age.Please see extra images of the top rails, splats and caned seat with hole at the back edge.
