Medieval `Peverell Family` Heraldic Pendant13th-15th century AD. A lozengiform cast copper-alloy horse-harness pendant, the surface with two diagonal panels in red enamel, each containing three crosses pattee; a chequered band of blue enamel and plain bronze squares in between; with suspension loop above. 13 grams, 40 mm (1 1/2"). The Peverell family owned lands in Nottingham, where the family held a seat. These lands were granted by the Duke of Normandy for their distinguished assistance at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 AD.
