A highly detailed 1/8th in : 1 ft scale uncovered wood and metal model of a Fokker DR1, the braced metal fuselage of tubular construction with tail plane assembly, elevators, rudder and sprung skid, the woodclad cockpit with pilot's seat, control column, instruments, belt fed Spandau machine guns and other details, rudder bar and aeleron control 'wires', wooden wings with box spars, aluminium cowling with rotary engine and propeller, rubber tyred sprung undercarriage and many other details, unpainted, overall length 29 in (73.5 cm), wingspan 35.5 in (90.2 cm) (1)
*Etrich 'Taube'. A rare, possibly unique, early 20th century brass and copper model of an Etrich 'Taube' of the Imperial German Airforce, mounted on an Egyptian-architectural-style polished slate cased mantle clock, the two-blade propeller arranged to be driven from the clock mechanism by shafts and pulley, the two-seat aircraft with wire braced wings, tail and undercarriage with wing warping control wires, dummy engine side radiators and wheels with copper tyres, the white enamelled watch-type clock dial set in a copper plate with moulded Etrich logo above a horizontal plate (possibly previously engraved), wingspan of aircraft 19.75 ins, length 14.5 in, overall height 11 in The Taube (Dove) first flew in 1910 and was designed by the Austrian engineer Igo Etrich. A highly successful machine, pleasant to fly, the Taube went into production at the Rumpler works near Berlin, over 500 were built by this and other manufacturers. (1)
*Baby Bootlegger. A fine wooden scale display model of the American racing hydroplane 'Baby Bootlegger. NY', the hull built up of mahogany planks is fitted with pennant and flag, dummy engine compartment, ventilators, cockpit with seat, instruments and steering wheel, four blade propeller and rudder, finished in varnish, green and 'gold' and mounted on two turned brass columns on an inlaid base with legend engraved '1924 and 1925 Gold Cup Winner Gold Cup Class Speedboat 'Baby Bootlegger' Designer: George F.
