An Arts and Crafts child's chair, circa 1900, the back splat inlaid with a clown, with rush seat supported upon turned legs united by stretchers. Width 62 cm, height 73 cm, depth 36 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Other than being a little dirty the chair is in extremely good order. There is no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The rush seat is in good order also. There are no loose joints. The chair simply needs a good clean.
A Victorian carved oak hall seat, with shield back panels and scrolling arm rests, all supported upon turned tapering legs. Width 105 cm, height 95.5 cm, depth 41 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The bench is generally structurally sound. The back centre panel has an old small loss to the top centre right which should be evident on our web image but this is not problematic. The left hand arm top scroll has had a break and been reattached. There is a small loss. The same scroll arm has been pegged through the top into the arm support. The right hand scroll arm has a loss to the right hand edge. This is an old loss and the patination and polish over is the same as the rest of the piece. The seat is in good order. There are no repairs to any of the legs.
A Japanese inspired aesthetic armchair, having an ebonised and part upholstered frame with horsehair and sprung stuffover seat, all supported upon slender turned tapering legs. 59 cm wide, 95 cm high, 49 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound with no loose joints. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. There are no missing sections of fretwork but there are some minor fractures, the most noticeable being beneath the seat front rail. There is a fracture across the top of the second step of the front fretwork section and whilst there is no significant loss here there is movement. All legs and stretchers are in good order. There is some rubbing to the ebonised finish particularly around the sharp edges. The upholstery is generally reasonably good with no holes or significant staining. The seat springing is serviceable. There is slight wear to the tops of the upholstered arms. Generally speaking the chair is in good order.
A Victorian cast iron rusticated garden bench, the supports cast as gnarled branches knotted wood back rest and seat. 167 cm wide, 84 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The bench ends are in good order with no repairs, damage or restoration. They have clearly been painted several times and are a little rusty in places. One nut from the coach bolt through the seat is missing. The seat is very rickety when rocked from side to side. The timber slats are very damp and have numerous losses and are in generally poor condition. The top surface of the wood is very soft. These slats even though currently serviceable should really be replaced. It might be possible if they are left to dry out that they could be sealed in some form or other. This would not however rectify the sideways movement and work would need to be done to the joints.
A set of two carver arm and eight single 19th century mahogany Chippendale style dining chairs, with pierced splat backs, drop in seats upholstered in pink linen and raised on moulded legs of square section (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chairs are generally in good original condition with no significant issues. Both armchairs and 7 of the single chairs are all structurally very sound with no loose joints. One single chair has slight movement at the rear leg stretcher joint and where the stile joins the side rail. In our opinion this is not an issue. Another single chair looks to have had the left hand join of the top rail where it joins the stile glued. It is only on the left hand side and barely visible. There is no evidence of any woodworm. All seat pads are in generally good condition although a little faded in places with the odd minor stain. The legs have the usual minor scuff marks that one would expect.
A set of eight (6+2) George III style mahogany dining chairs, having a camel hump top rail above a pierced back splat with floral motif and radiating leaves above a stuffover seat supported upon square channelled legs united by plain stretchers, the armchairs 66 cm wide, 95 cm high (see illustration).
A 19th century yew wood Windsor armchair, of typical form with low back, solid seat and turned legs with crinoline stretcher. Width across arms 54 cm, height to top of back 88.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally very sound with no loose joints. There are no repairs to the legs. The crinoline stretcher is sound and secure but does have old stress fractures to the rear and the supporting stretchers appear to have been re-fixed at some point. The rear legs have a few very old woodworm holes. These are not active. The seat is not split. Again, there are a few old wormholes at the rear but these are minimal. The arms, stretcher, spindles and top rail are all in good order with no significant issues. The chair could be used in its present state without the need for any repairs or restoration.

A Lamb of Manchester ebonised corner chair, late 19th century, with turned and reeded supports and drop in seat all upon square tapering reeded legs united by a plain stretcher, stamped to the inside "Lamb, Manchester". 59 cm wide, 76 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is in reasonably good order. It is slightly loose at the joints but not significantly. All of the joint corner blocks have been replaced. Other than the replacement blocks there do not appear to be any other repairs or restoration. We can see no evidence of any breaks. The ebonised finish is rubbed in places particularly around the tops of the arms and other proud sections of the chair. There are some minor nibbles to the legs and around the feet. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.
A late Victorian Florentine inlaid boudoir settee, the showframe with part slatted backs and side with scrolling arm rests and upholstered seat, all upon splayed legs with boxwood stringing, 141 cm wide, 93 cm high, +/- 52 cm deep (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Both rear legs are loose at the joint to the back rail. The front legs are secure. The back showframe is all in good order and there are no missing slats. All side slats are present also. The front showframe is in very good condition on the right hand side. On the left curve there is an old stress fracture just to the left above the leg. The upholstery whilst serviceable is a little tired and showing some rubbing on the tops of the arms. There is some discolouration and the odd minor stain.
An Edwardian mahogany framed settee, with foliate carved and scroll moulded exposed showframe, upholstered in burgundy velvet type material and raised on cabriole front legs terminating in castors. Width across arms 140 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The settee is in structurally very good order with no loose joints. There are some minor scuffs and scratches to the showframe but no evidence of any damage of any significance, no repairs and no restoration. The seat is well upholstered and the material in good condition. The springs are tight and there are no protrusions. The arms are well upholstered. The back panel is also in good condition on both sides.

The condition of the gilding and paintwork is generally very good with only minor rubbing in places. There are no significant losses to the showframes. The upholstery to both chairs is serviceable. There is some minor staining to the cushion on one chair. The seat springing to both chairs is in good order.
A Windsor wheelback armchair, large form, with solid seat and raised on turned legs. Seat width 54 cm, height to top of back 115 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is in first class condition. It could be used in its current state without the need for any repairs or restoration. The chair has no great age and may only be 30 or 40 years old.
A late Victorian oak inlaid hall bench, circa 1880, the top rail with central rosette carved pediment above three Florentine style inlaid panels, with channel moulded arm rests above a solid seat in turn above turned and block legs united by a moulded stretcher with turned spindles. 91 cm wide, 105.5 cm high, 46 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: Height to top of rosette is actually 106 cm, width 91 cm and maximum depth 45 cm. The condition of the piece is generally very good and it could be enjoyed in its current state without the need for any work. It is structurally very sound with no loose joints and no issues.

CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally very sound. There are no repairs, splits or cracks to any of the exposed woodwork. The upholstery is generally a little dirty and there is some rubbing around the extremities of both arms. The seat cushion has lost some of the conolised finish particularly to the front piping and in the creases. There are however no holes. The sides of the chair are in good order. The back again has no holes but does have some marks and slight indentations to the leatherwork. The height to the top of the seat cushion is approximately 48 cm.
