Terminating on small lappet feet 21 ins (53.5 cms) in height, the top 14½ ins (37 cms) in diameter (a few minor losses of inlay).

The rectangular moulded seats above curved and reeded seat rails and flanked by swept reeded legs.[A similar pair of Gillows stamped hall chairs are in the collection of Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal. Gillows also made a set of `shell back` hall chairs for the Rev. Holland Edwards of Pennant, Conway, North Wales in 1811.
