Samuel Bough, R.S.A Scottish (1822-1878) oil on canvas, 'Hamilton' a woodland scene with deer grazing in the distance, remnants of an earlier label and inscribed Samuel Bough to verso, approx 42.5 x 31 h cms. Note: the view of this woodland may be what is today Chatelherault Country and Deer Park formerly the seat of the Dukes of Hamilton.
A late 18th century oak lambing chair, with panelled back and sides, on tapered legs, height 101.5cm.Condition Report: The chair does not have a panelled wooden seat but has a string webbing, rustic appearance throughout with old knocks, splits, chip, etc, consistent with age and use, the scroll ends of the arms are a little loose as they join the uprights of the legs with visible old holes and gnarling and later screws, despite faults overall appearance ok.
An early 20th century carved oak hall seat with open sides, on sabre legs, width 94cm, height 78cm, together with a pair of Victorian balloon back dining chairs on cabriole supports.Condition Report: All five splats have been re glued to the cresting rail and seat.there has been a repair to the seat where the left hand splat meets it.
A pair of early 19th century faux rosewood caned seat chairs, on turned legs, with a later 19th century stained beech cane seat chair and an Edwardian corner chair (4).Condition Report: All with general age wear patina to the surface consistent with age and use, the caning to the chairs is not original and one is slightly sagging in the caning, the material to the seat on the corner chair in worn.
A French carved and stained beech Louis XV style open arm fauteuil with upholstered back arms and seat, on cabriole legs, height 99cm.Condition Report: Upholstery generally ok, frame with general age wear scuffs and mark but essentially ok, one of the back legs with a crack which appears to have been glue repaired.
