CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally very sound. There are no loose joints. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. A pair of metamorphic library steps, four tread, mahogany and closing to chair form. Height 90 cm, width 46 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The steps are structurally sound with no significant condition issues. There are no loose joints. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. The hinges are sound and secure and there is no movement. The steps are sturdy and usable. There are numerous old marks and scuffs as one would probably expect. A Queen Anne style oak stool, with floral woolwork top, with carved frame and raised on cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet. Width 60 cm (see illustration).. CONDITION REPORT: The stool is structurally fairly sound. One leg is slightly loose at the joint. The same leg has some missing line fretwork at the top of the block on the frieze. Another leg similarly has line fretwork missing at the same point. The egg and dart moulded frame that surrounds the drop in seat squab has some nibbles and losses. The cabriole legs are all in good condition with only the usual scuffs and marks around the feet that one would expect. The drop in seat is sagging in the middle and the webbing is perished. The tapestry top whilst intact is somewhat dirty.

A pair of Regency mahogany hall chairs, with oval backs solid seats and raised on turned front legs. Width across seat 44 cm, height to top of back 90 cm. CONDITION REPORT: You will see from the images that both chairs have some issues. Both oval backs are in generally good order. One chair has had a repair to the base of the back which is visible both back and front. The same chair has a small amount of woodworm to the back rail. This appears to be long gone. The seat has been broken in half towards the rear. The rear legs do not appear to have any repairs nor do the side and front rails. The left hand leg has a stress fracture running from the tip of the leg up through both turnings. The right hand leg is okay. The second chair has had some repair where the back joins the rear rail. The rear rail has some old woodworm holes. There is also a repair to the rear right hand leg and there are two strengthening later corner brackets. The seat is slightly lifting at the front and there is a stress fracture running three quarters of the width across the seat. The front legs are in generally good order. There are some minor stress fractures to the knees.
A Regency mahogany brass strung elbow chair, with bergere seat and sabre legs. The bottom rail has a section of brass stringing missing. There has also been some form of upright between the two rails between the centre lozenge and the side rail of the chair. These are missing but this is not in our opinion significant. Both arms are in good order. There is very slight movement where they join the side seat rails. There are no repairs to the legs. The right hand leg has some brass stringing missing. The left hand leg has a very short section missing right at the foot. The cane seat is in good order with no breaks.
A set of eight Arts & Crafts oak dining chairs, each stamped with a Registration No. "455736" to the underside of the rear seat rail, with drop in seats and raised on tapered legs of square section terminating in spade feet (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: All chairs are structurally very sound with no loose joints. There are no significant issues with any really. One has had a break to the top finial on the right-hand side when facing front. This should be visible in our image. Another one has had a similar break which is not so visible. Both breaks are very sound and secure with no movement. The caps to the top of each stile all have varying degrees of rubbing and nibbles to the corners. None are broken they are just rubbed and marked through use. All chairs have minor scuffs to the extremities all of which could be easily sorted with a clean and polish. The leather seats are all in good condition with no sagging. There are scuffs and no perforations. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.
A Regency mahogany carver armchair, with rope twist top rail, downswept scroll arms and drop in seat and raised on sabre legs. Width across arms 54 cm, height to top of back 81 cm. A set of one carver arm and six single ash country kitchen dining chairs, with leather over rush seats and raised on turned legs. CONDITION REPORT: All chairs are structurally very sound with no loose joints. They are surprisingly tight. The armchair is in good order with no issues and no evidence of any damage, repairs or restorations. Three of the single chairs are equally in very good order with no problems. The fourth single chair is almost as good as the other three but has had an old repair to the top scroll of the stile. The repair is visible but firm and does not require redoing. A fifth chair is equally sturdy and in generally good condition but does have some woodworm to the left hand stile which runs from the top of the rear of the seat rail to the top of the stile. This has not caused any difficulty with the integrity and strength of the chair but should be treated. It is only confined to this one area. Of the chairs mentioned so far all leather seats are serviceable with no significant problems. The leather seat cover is over the original rush seating and very effective. The sixth chair is in good condition from a structural point of view with no issues in that respect. The leather seat cover is however perished and torn, it looks as if the chair has been kept in a barn or garage and not been in use.
A Regency rosewood bergere armchair, with bowed top rail and moulded showframe with loose cushion and raised on turned tapered reeded front legs terminating in brass castors. Width across arms 60 cm, height to top of back 88 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The height from the ground to the top of the cushion is 46 cm. Excluding the cushion this is 36 cm. Beneath this there is a section of the side rail that has at some point been broken. This should be visible on the image. There is no movement at all. The cane work appears to be in generally very good order. You will see some filler at the top of the cane work below the bottom of the top rail. This is old but there appears to be a fracture between the cane holes which runs for +/- 20 cm. The cane work is firm and solid and there do not appear to be any significant breaks or losses. Both arms are in good condition. All legs are original and do not appear to have any repairs or restoration. The castors are original. At the rear of the chair there is a small old under edge repair to the bottom of the back seat rail. The fillets of wood that would usually cover the cane holes at the top of each stile are not present. The chair is structurally very sound and we can see no evidence of woodworm.
