Simons (A. A., 18th century). Two Views of Antwerp and Port, 1788, a pair of oils on canvas, one showing a rich merchant and his wife inspecting barrels being unloaded at the harbour on the Scheldt, with two boats flying the pennant of the Dutch East India Company, view of the town of Antwerp to the left including Het Steen and the Cathedral of Our Lady, and (on the far side of the river to the right) Borgerweertpolder (now known as Linkeroever), the other showing a group of richly dressed figures disembarking at a jetty, with view of Het Steen to the left, the first signed A. A. Simons to lower right (above a barrel), and dated (on the wooden crate being used by a gentleman as a seat), relined and with modern professional restoration, unframed, both 214 x 223 cm (84 x 87.75 ins)These are both in generally good condition, although they have been professionally restored in modern times. Both works are relined with several patches of the relining adhesive showing through on the back of the relining canvas. There are also one or two strips of additional strengthening. Each panel has a small dark red/burgundy stamp to the upper left corner on the back, which we have not been able to decipher. It may be a restorers stamp or possibly a collector’s mark. An Ercol Furniture beech framed model 203 Windsor bergere two-seat settee or sofa, together with a model 203 Windsor bergere armchair, designed by Lucian Ercolani, both bearing gold foil labels and with loose upholstered cushions, width of settee 141cm and width of armchair 76cm, S/D. A set of three late 20th Century 'W' chairs, designed by Fabrizio Gallinario for Billiani 1911, each in a white painted finish and stamped to the underside of the seat, two of the chairs complete with brown suede seat pads, S/D, together with a circular occasional table with parquetry wooden blockwork top, probably Danish, over a painted cruciform pedestal with four splayed legs, height 64cm and diameter 80cm, unlabelled, S/D. A post war Volnay range teak dining suite, circa 1970, designed by John Herbert for A. Younger Ltd, comprising sideboard fitted with an arrangement of four central drawers flanked by a cabinet to either side, raised to tapered legs, bearing label, height 83cm, width 198cm and depth 48cm, together with a set of six chairs with woven cream coloured hopsack style upholstered seats and an extendable table of rectangular form, height 72cm, width 81cm and length 129cm when closed and 222cm when extended. (8) NB - The Chartwell chair was originally designed by Ambrose Heal and Philip Tilden for Winston Churchill's residence of the same name. Provenance - Consigned to auction sale from the Cadbury's chocolate factory. These chairs had been in use as part of the boardroom furniture.

Five later 20th Century light oak chairs in the manner of the Chartwell chair by Heal and Son Ltd, each with a shaped top rail above lattice backs drop-in seats and H-form stretcher frames, unlabelled and one drop-in seat pad missing, S/D, together with an oak veneered cupboard in the manner of Heals, with triangular chip-cut frieze with blue and green painted highlights, fitted with a central double door (two further door panels missing) height 52cm, width 208cm and depth 56cm, the cupboard A/F. (6) Provenance - Consigned to auction sale from the Cadbury's chocolate factory. This furniture had been in use as part of the boardroom furniture.
Nathan - An original retro vintage 1960's teak wood dining suite comprising of a circular extending dining table with folding leaf along with a set of four chairs. Shaped bar backs to the chair and cushioned seat pads with the table and chairs being raised on tapering wooden legs. Measures approx; 76cm x 123cm x 122cm.
A Edwardian mahogany piano stool. The piano stool having an overstuffed seat upholstered in a terracotta fabric with braiding to sides opening to reveal compartment within. The seat being flanked by scrolled turned wood bars with carved Tudor rose motifs to each, raised over a serpentine apron on tapering square supports. Measures approx. 64cm x 95cm x 38cm.
A pair of 20th century Louis XVI French style fauteuils armchairs. The chairs having carved palmette motifs to top with shaped stuffed arms raised over carved cabriole legs.
