Lot 1646

A French walnut open armchair, with moulded showframe, upholstered back, arms and seat and raised on cabriole legs, width across arms 62 cm, height to top of back 96 cm.

Lot 1957

An Edwardian inlaid mahogany armchair, the exposed showframe being satinwood crossbanded, boxwood and ebony strung and raised on tapered legs of square section terminating in brass castors. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally very sound with no repairs or restoration. There are no loose joints. The exposed showframe has all the usual scuffs and marks that one would expect from an item of this age but no significant issues. There are some old minor stress fractures to the veneers and crossbanding. There are however no significant losses. The front right-hand leg has an old stress fracture but there is no movement. All castors are original and present. The upholstery is serviceable. There are no springs protruding underneath the seat and the chair is comfortable. There are no holes, tears or stains to the upholstery.

Lot 1607

A Victorian mahogany framed settee, with exposed carved showframe, upholstered back, sides and seat and with loose cushion and all raised on cabriole legs. Width 147 cm (see illustration).

Lot 1545

Lot 1537

A set of five Regency mahogany dining chairs, each with satinwood banded bowed top rails, stuffover seat and carved front sabre legs. CONDITION REPORT: Four chairs are structurally sound with no loose joints. The legs do not appear to have had any significant repairs. One chair has dowelled repairs through the back legs to either side of the back seat rail. These are visible on close inspection. All chairs have scuffs and marks and wear to the edges of the legs. The upholstery in all cases is generally good and serviceable. Three of the bowed top rails have been detached at some point. If you look at our image you will see the cracks that are evident around the top of the stiles. The repairs are generally structurally sound with only very little movement. All chairs have minor nibbles to the edges of the top rails.
