A pair of Augarten Vienna porcelain models of rearing Lipizzaner horses, each impressed 1550 and further factory marks. Height 22.5 cm, length 19 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: One horse is in first class condition with no issues. The second horse has a minor issue. The reins have a loss running from the top of the saddle and looping round to the edge of the saddle seat. There has been a further glued repair to the rein where it attaches to the upper leg of the horse. Other than the loss and repair to the rein there are no other issues with either horse.
An early 20th century Georgian style mahogany wing easy chair. Width across arms 77 cm, height to top of back 105 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound with no loose joints. The upholstery is generally worn and tired with scuff marks at the extremities. The seat and back are a little soft. We cannot see the webbing but it is likely that it has sprung a little bit beneath the base. The legs and stretchers are all in very good order and there are no loose joints and no evidence of any woodworm
A 17th century oak Wainscot chair with leaf carved cresting rail, panelled back and downswept arms with solid seat and raised on turned front legs with stretcher between. Height to top of back 118.5 cm, width across front of arms 59 cm, height to top of seat 43.5 cm, seat depth 40 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This chair is structurally extremely sound. There are no loose joints. The condition is generally very good. The rear legs have been tipped and the front leg bottom blocks have also been replaced. Other than this the chair is largely original and of good colour. It could be used in its current state without the need for any work.
A set of four Regency mahogany dining chairs, with bowed top rails, stuffover seats and raised on sabre legs. CONDITION REPORT: All chairs have issues. The top rails have either been broken off and re-attached or have had dowelled repairs. The repairs are all secure, but they are visible particularly from the rear. There are breaks to the stiles on one chair. There are repairs and losses to the backs. All chairs are slightly loose at the rear joints. The legs do not appear to have any breaks but there are some repairs where they join the seat frames. The upholstery is reasonably good with only minor staining but no holes or significant damage.
A Mouseman Thompson of Kilburn armchair, with leather upholstered back and seat and with typical mouse trademark. Width across arms 62 cm. Height to top of back 112 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This chair is in first class condition and would appear to have been barely used. There are no loose joints and no damage to the oak. The leatherwork is all in very good condition. When looking at the chair from the rear, the leather has originally been lighter in colour. There has been some form of slightly darker and warmer polish applied to the back panel which is now a closer colour to the seat cushion. If you look carefully at the image you will see the colour differentiation. The chair has come into us from a house clearance and we would not doubt the authenticity.
A Regency mahogany hall chair attributed to Gillows, with bowed top rail, splat back solid seat and raised on turned tapered splayed front legs. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound with no significant issues. The top rail and splat back are in good order. The seat has no significant splits. To the left hand side the bottom corner of the splat has a small old repair. The rear legs have had professional restoration at the top (where they usually split), the repairs are effective and only visible on close inspection. The front legs are in good order. There are the usual blemishes and small scratches and marks but no significant issues. Height to top of back 85.5 cm. Width across broadest part of seat 40.5 cm. Seat depth 39 cm. Height from floor to seat top 47 cm. The chair could be used in its current state without the need for any restoration work.
A 17th century oak Wainscot chair, carved with the initials EP and with moulded stiles, downswept arms, solid seat and raised on turned front legs united by a stretcher. Height to top of back 118 cm, width across front of arms 58 cm, height from floor to top of seat 48 cm, seat depth 40 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chair has come in for sale from a local estate. The back, arms, turned supports and seat are of good colour and do not appear to have had any significant work. The whole of the section beneath the seat has a form of painted stain over the lighter coloured oak. It is difficult to see what work has been done to the chair. The front rail and turned legs to the stretched seem to be original. The front right hand foot has been tipped. The left hand foot block may have been replaced, it is difficult to tell. The front stretcher is clearly old. Both side stretchers are period. The rear stretcher would appear to be also. The rear left leg has been tipped as has the right. This is from the point just below the stretcher line and up into the stile in a stepped fashion.
A Victorian aesthetic movement bedroom armchair, with oval seat and raised on cabriole front legs. Width across arms 59 cm, height to top of back 103 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound with no loose joints. There are no losses to the back splat or arms. The seat has clearly been recently reupholstered and is in very good order. There are no breaks to the legs or stretchers. The colour is uniform. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The chair could be used in its current state without the need for any work.
A set of four Regency mahogany Whitehaven design dining chairs, each with drop in seat, bowed frtont rail and raised on tapered legs of square section. CONDITION REPORT: All chairs are slightly loose at some of the joints. Whilst there are no repairs to any of the legs there are some stress fractures to the knees on two of the chairs. The bowed to rails and back supports are in good order on all chairs. The stiles are in good condition on two of the chairs. The other two have had a diagonal old repair to the top of two of the stiles. There is no movement. The repairs are sound and effective. They are however visible. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The seats are a little rubbed in places but serviceable with no significant sagging.
A Regency mahogany armchair, with drop in seat and raised on sabre front legs. Width across top of arms 52 cm, height to top of back 91 cm. These repairs are pegged and filled and visible from both front and back on close inspection. The stile and legs are all in good order with no repairs. The arms also are in good condition. There are no significantly loose joints. The drop in seat is serviceable but the upholstery a little tired. The chair is structurally sound and useable. There are some old repairs where the bowed top rail joins the stiles. These repairs are pegged and filled and visible from both front and back on close inspection. The stile and legs are all in good order with no repairs. The arms also are in good condition. There are no significantly loose joints. The drop in seat is serviceable but the upholstery a little tired.
A set of four Regency mahogany Whitehaven dining chairs, each with bowed top rail and drop in seat raised on turned tapered front legs. CONDITION REPORT: All chairs are structurally very sound with no loose joints. The colour is good. The seats have recently been recovered and are in good order as is the webbing beneath. One chair has had an old repair to the front left leg. The repair is good and there is no movement. The break appears to have been across the upper turned section of the leg. The same chairs has a stress fracture to the right hand knee. All top rails are sound and secure and have not been broken away. The very tip of the right hand stile of one chair has had an old break. There is however no movement and this is a minor issue.

CONDITION REPORT: The back arms and seat are in good order with no issues. The metal mechanism beneath appears to operate as it should. The stem of the chair does adjust. The legs are all in good order with no significant damage or repairs. The rise and fall mechanism does operate but its operation does take a little working out. The chair will have originally have had castors which are not present.
An early 18th century longcase clock with eight day striking movement by Wat Broadhurst Lichfield, the two train striking movement with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, face dimensions 28 cm x 28 cm, the hood with moulded cornice and the trunk door with lenticle and all raised on bun feet complete with weights and pendulum. Height 213 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains and is currently ticking away, striking and keeping good time. The case is in extremely good condition from top to bottom. The door closes as it should and is not warped. The clock has a rising hood (i.e. no door). With the hood in situ the face does seem to fit correctly. The seat board is clearly original. In our opinion the clock is not a marriage. The clock has come in for sale from an extremely good local estate along with the better pieces of oak furniture in this sale.

There is some rubbing. The settee frame is structurally fairly sound. There is slight movement at the joints on the rear legs which would easily rectify. There is no movement of any significance at the front. The front right hand spandrel has been reglued into position. There are minor scuffs and nibbles around the bottoms of the feet as one would expect. There are no springs protruding from beneath the settee. The webbing is however not visible. There is no evidence of any woodworm.

The rear whilst similar are later. All legs are in good order with no breaks. The front and side rails are in good condition with no issues. The rear rail is softwood and probably a replacement. It has some traces of old long gone woodworm. The upholstery is a little tired. It is faded and stained in places. There is some rubbing around the arm tops. The chair is generally structurally sound with no significant loose joints. The exposed mahogany section of the chair is more akin to that of a Bergere chair, but we are unable to tell whether this has been converted.

The seat webbing is fairly recent and there are no protruding springs. The front edge of the integral cushion has had some slight shifting of the padding. There is no movement. The arms and supports are in good condition. The seat cover is serviceable but has four very minor holes towards the front edge. The webbing is slightly split underneath. All four legs are structurally sound. One has had a diagonal repair at the narrow point below the knee. This is only just visible. It is evidenced by two screws from the rear of the leg.

The outswept arms are scuffed at the front and have numerous small scratches and dings. The front left hand turned support has a loss at the foot. The seat and back leather are in generally good order with only minor blemishes. There are no holes. The leather to the rear of the chair is in slightly poorer condition but again there are no holes simply surface scuffs and scratches. The swivel action operates as it should. The turned section beneath is in good order. The legs are in less good condition. They have all had repairs and there are bracing hooks beneath. The repairs are secure but are visible. The castors are all present.
A Victorian Chesterfield settee, with foliate patterned beige fabric with gold coloured piping and raised on turned front legs terminating in castors. The legs are all in good order and the castors original. The upholstery is serviceable but does have some clicks, particularly to the scroll, the left hand scroll upright, the right and left hand sides and rear corners. This looks like cat scratching. This would improve simply by trimming the pulled sections of the material. Other than this damage the upholstery is certainly serviceable. There do not appear to be any holes or any significant staining. There is no significant fading and the colour is uniform. There are no springs protruding from the underside and the seat is not sagging.
