A Regency mahogany mantel timepiecewith domed case, painted dial signed Schuler & Son, 64 City Road, associated single fusee movement with engraved brass backplate signed Wightman, London,H. 44cm. D. 17cm.The case of good rich reddish mahogany tone, a number of fine cracks in the veneers around the dial, dial a little rubbed and dirty, and some losses to the back door with damage near the top hinge. Brackets supporting the movement are strangely placed and there is no seat board. A William IV brass inset mahogany bracket clock,with arched architectural case and painted Roman dial and twin fusee movement,width 30cm depth 16cm height 50cmLooks to have been restored many years ago, pineapple finial and extreme top fluted section possibly associated, dial repainted at some point but many years ago, top of case a little faded, single key working the bezel and back door, cracking and old repairs around the back door, movement raised on a later seat board suggesting that it is probably associated though looks to be an appropriate 19th century anchor escapement example, cracking to the glass of back door.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place. A set of four late 18th century French carved beech fauteuils,with caned backs and seats, on turned and fluted tapered legs,W.54cm D.53cm H.91cmAll four chairs at some point have been stripped of their original painted and probably gilt finish, old seperations in the joints showing to the frames but all but one remain fairly solid, one being rather loose in the joints, later squab cushions are removeable, caning is fair and has been painted gold at some point but is now faded to a rather soft tone, signs of old worming around some of the seat rails but nothing active noted, later reinforcements to the underframes.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place.
