An early 19th century carved and painted beech x-frame stool, the reupholstered over stuffed rectangular seat on a moulded frame, raised on scrolled x-frame supports with foliate rosette bosses, united by a turned and fluted stretcher, 23½ x 17½in. (59.5 x 44.5cm.), 18in. (45.75cm.) high, old repairs. * Condition: Horsehair seat cushion has been reupholstered. Later overpainting throughout. Old repaired breaks around central joint on both supports, which have been supported by steel brackets attached with screws. Small pad of wood glued to two feet to ensure stool sits level.
An 18th century and later Wainscot chair, the carved back with foliate shaped top rail over a dragon carved panel and larger panel beneath with a sunflower below a guilloche arch, within foliate carved uprights and shaped arms on baluster turned supports, over a plain solid seat, raised on baluster turned front legs and block back legs with peripheral stretchers, 46¼in. (117.5cm.) high to back, 23 5/8in. (60cm.) wide.
A William IV carved walnut fender stool, the drop-in seat with architectural tapestry cushion titled 'Roma', (a/f), flanked by turned handles, over a cut card frieze, raised on turned and lappet carved supports to arched scroll carved and lion's paw paw feet with concealed castors, 56¼ x 19in. A profusely carved 19th century Anglo-Indian hardwood side chair, circa 1860, Bombay region, arched top rail with centralised peacock to front and rear flanked by foliate trails, side uprights bearing scrolling vinery detail and surmounted with figural finials, back splat with male and female costumed dancers to front and foliate carving to reverse, the seat with central panel depicting a rural scene featuring two figures with oxen within a foliate frame with florettes, serpentine form friezes to front and sides bearing conforming carved design, front legs featuring stylised feline heads to upper sections, foliate carved shoulders above scale carved stylistic dolphin feet, 39in. (99cm.) high, 20in. (50.8cm.) wide.
A Regency X frame window seat, stained beech over painted to imitate coromandel, seat with uprising and scrolled sides, painted gilt lined front and rear curved supports joined by two baluster turned stretchers bearing gilded oak leaf decoration, standing on four ball feet, 40in. (101.5cm.) long, 23in. (58.5cm.) high.* Condition: Has been repolished and well re-upholstered - structurally very solid. Frame has some wear to the painted finish beneath the polish and there is some more recent wear to the edges of the frame. Gilt decoration restored and largely repainted. Small, shallow split to inside of one side rail.
