Victorian ebonised bobbin armchair, the arm rests and seat upholstered in later tartan stuff-over fabric, on brass castors, 98cm high.CONDITION REPORT: Two or three cracks and losses to the lower back area. There is further age-related wear, paint losses and staining to the chair. There are some old holes to the right side of the wood at the seat area and some filled-in holes also.
Charles II period oak Wainscot chair, probably South Yorkshire origin, early to mid 17th century, with scrolled top rail and back rest, inscribed 1640 below, flanked by scroll ears above bobbin supports, scroll armrests, plank seat, on bobbin and plain supports united by beam understretchers, 116cm high.CONDITION REPORT: Possible later alterations. Lacking bobbin column to the lower.
Edwardian oak extending dining table, oval top with moulded edge, turned and ringed legs, two additional leaves, maximum length 220cm, width 145cm, height 69cm, together with a set of four oak high-back dining chairs; and two further dining chairs.Qty: 7Condition report:The winding mechanism doesn't seem to function. There is a light stain to one of the table ends, and the same leaf end has some indented scratch marks. Otherwise the top is pretty clean and the colour between the leaves and extra inserts is fairly even. The chairs are all solid in their frames. There are four with the carved foliate top rail with brown leather seats, and two with the barley twist supports on the backs with a redder seat. The chairs fit but it doesn't leave much room for your legs when sat at it as the rails get in the way.
Victorian mahogany framed easy chair, hoop back with buttoned upholstery (defective), carved and scrolled arms, turned legs, width 69cm, height 91cm.Condition report:Depth from the front rail to chair back is 93cm. Seat depth is 60cm. The frame is sound, with very little movement. There is a very crude repair to both front legs. Front casters are defective and the back two are a mis-match. Old repairs to rear left leg. No evidence of worm. In need of reupholstering.
Matched set of six late Georgian mahogany dining chairs, bar backs above X stretchers, upholstered seats on turned legs, including two elbow chairs, width 51cm, height 85cm, and four single chairs.Qty: 6Condition report:All the chairs have had some form of repair over time - repaired top rails, arms, repairs to the cross backs, etc. As they presently are they are all sound in frame, and the seat upholstery is fine, lacking a little stuffing and with some spot staining, but a little cleaning, and the set would be perfectly usable on a frequent basis. One of the armchairs has had the right arm repaired by a screw-head to the front of the arm. The screw-head could be disguised a little with a filler but nothing too drastic. The other armchair does have a little movement in the arms.
Pair of Edwardian inlaid mahogany tub chairs, upholstered hoop backs and seats, slat backs, turned and ringed legs on casters, width 69cm, height 80cm.Condition report:The frames are sound but tired with colour fading and water staining. They would benefit from a complete reupholster given both chairs are quite heavily stained and marked on the seat and arms and one same chair has a 12cm rip to the back of the back rest. Colour is sage green. Some casters are replacements and don't run well.
Oak and mahogany longcase clock, cavetto cornice, turned columns, trunk with long door, bracket feet, twelve inch square painted dial with subsidiary date aperture, signed Jno Birtles, Harboro, thiry hour movement striking on a bell, height 193cm, with weight and pendulum.Condition report:Not in working order, the pendulum guide looks to have been twisted so much that the pendulum won't fit and swing freely. The top of the pendulum has a crude old repair and seems to be lacking the hook regardless. The movement is loose from the seat board. The dial appears repainted and has an existing paint flake approx 1.5cm in diam above the flowal bouquet. The hood and door of the case are much later in age (the hood late 20th century replacement and doesn't match very well. The back panel has historic worm activity.
A vintage 20th century button back chesterfield fireside lounge armchair. Having an oval button back cushioned backrest, into flared elbow rests with stud work to front and drop in cushioned seat. All supported on block rocking feet. In oxblood colourway. Measures approx. 95cm x 96cm x 70cm.
