Stunning pair of original Barcelona Chairs in dark brown color made of top grain cowhide leather. The chrome-plated stainless steel bars intersect to hold the seat. Bauhaus architect Mies van der Rohe followed his Modernist concept "less is more" to design the chairs for the German Pavilion at the Barcelona Industrial Exposition in 1929. This pair was purchased by an Illinois architect in 1968 from Knoll Associates, NYC.
