Capo-di-Monte Pair of Reclining Rustic Figures, by Merli; each on a seemingly natural grassy seat and leaning on tree trunks, the seats set on scrolled gilt stands above white oval bases; the young woman with a lamb on her lap, it's mother by her side, the young man feeding a treat to an expectant shaggy grey dog; both having underglaze blue crowned N cartouches and impressed B.Merli marks; 7.75 inches (19.75cms) high. 1 figure has a finger missing.
A ladies 18-carat yellow-gold cased half-Hunter wristwatch, the outer case with enamel dial with blue Roman numerals against a light-pink chapter ring, the white-enamel dial with further Roman numerals and signed J.W. Maritime naval interest; an early 20th century walnut dining chair with horizontal crest rails and green-leather stuff over seat, turned front legs united by an 'H' form stretcher, to the underside of the rear rail is a brass plaque detailing H.M.S. QUEEN ELIZABETH ADMIRAL'S DINING CABIN 15th-16th NOVEMBER 1918. It is worth noting that H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth was a flag ship of the Grand Fleet and it was on board this ship that the surrender terms were dictated to Senior Navy Officers by Admiral Beatty when Senior German naval officers were present. The Imperial War Museum website records there is a painting by John Lavery in the Imperial War Museum, London called 'The End: The Fore-Cabin of H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth with Admiral Beatty Reading The Terms of Surrender of The German Navy, Rosyth, 16th November 1918'
