A Victorian ebonised walnut boxwood strung and inlaid salon settee, circa 1870, gilded and gilt metal mounted, the upholstered back above a pierced tablet centred by a classical roundel flanked by turned columnar supports, having a stuff over seat, on turned legs and castors, 105cm wide, together with a matching nursing chair (2).
Early 18th century eight day longcase clock movement, by Thomas Davis, London, with 11 inch square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds, date aperture and ringed winding holes, five-pillar movement striking on a bell, in later walnut veneered case with bull mouldings, 201cm high x 36cm wide (pendulum and weights present) CONDITION REPORT General overall appearance is good. Case is a modern replica, walnut veneered on oak. Movement is clean and may have been serviced fairly recently. We have not had the clock going and are unable to confirm if it is in full working order. Dial may not be original to the movement. Brasswork is clean but chapter ring is very dirty. Hands possibly new and dial plate is quite worn. Left winding arbor is larger than the right one. Seat board is new. Weights are lead
