A GEORGE III OAK EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK THOMAS RADFORD, LEEDS the 31cm brass breakarched dial signed to the centre on scrolling banners T RADFORD LEEDS, with date sector and subsidiary seconds dial having mask and dolphin spandrels, in crossbanded case with segmental pediment and pillars to the hood, on panelled base and bracket feet, 225cm h, c1780 Provenance: Purchased George P Henzell Esq from the Leeds trade on March 6th 1945 for £29. 8. 0.; thence by descent to the present vendors.++Dial with old polish residues especially in the spandrels but thought to be original to the movement, the movement apparently complete, on later seat board, the cheeks not packed and some minor old structural repairs and slightly specked with paint. Sold with two weights and a pendulum with brass bob. Restored for the late owner in 1985 by Kenneth Chapelle of Glasgow
A SCOTTISH GEORGE IV MAHOGANY EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK, ROBERT CRAIG, KILMARNOCK the 31cm engraved brass breakarched dial with ringed winding holes, date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial, signed on a convex disc to the arch Robt Craig KILMARNOCK, having mask and dolphin spandrels, the case with rudimentary swan neck pediment and spiral fluted pillars, the trunk with fluted pilasters, 215cm h, c1830 Provenance: Purchased from Jean Megahy of Glasgow on 26th August 1961 for £22.0.0.; thence by descent to the present vendors.++Dial with old polish residues and lacking one hand, original to the movement, the movement reasonably clean and complete, the plates to the movement with outset `feet`, the seat board old, possibly original, the cheeks packed with various pieces of old and wormed wood, the hood with modifications and probably associated to the trunk. Sold with two weights and pendulum with brass bob. Painted to the inside of the trunk door are a number of old newspaper cuttings and a photograph. The lower part of the trunk slightly speckled with white paint. Restored for the late owner by Kenneth Chapelle of Glasgow in October 1985.

A late 17th Century Walnut cased Verge 30-hour Wall mounted Clock with pull repeat, Christopher Gould, circa 1695, the lift-off hood with overhanging cornice, surmounted by a moulded caddy top and fitted with a gilt Brass pine cone finial, to a glazed dial and side panels, mounted on a carved floral and foliate bracket to a 6? engraved square Brass dial, signed ?C H R Gould Londini Fecit?, with cast and applied cherub spandrels enclosing a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with outside minute track and inside quarters track, to a matted centre and fitted with carved pierced and blued steel hands, to a movement with plates united by four baluster columns and a verge escapement and short bob pendulum and with strike on two graduated bells and also a self- powering pull repeat to the base, height 16? (published ?Old English Master Clockmakers ? Cescinski? page 85) Condition:Hood - Missing finial. Some lifting to veneer/knocks to woodwork and may have some replacement veneer to right side, crack to left hand side seat mount.Movement - Requires cleaning. Bell appears replaced.
