Aliwal, 1 bar, Sobraon; Army Long Service & Good Conduct, Vic., type 3, all correctly named but some details worn from bruising, the first and last very fine, the Sutlej only fair and heavily contact marked from the Star, and the Punniar Star poor and damaged as stated, nevertheless a rare group (4)

Published as part of the Fisher Unwin's Children's Library series, in decorated cloth boards with the floral pattern repeated on the edges of the book and on the endpapers. Also with a copy of the third impression, again published by Fisher Unwin, circa 1908, but where the illustrations are mistakenly attributed on the title page to Jack B. Yeats (which must have been a trifle galling to his father). This copy has one of the Yeats designs reproduced on the upper board. A most unusual pair. €300-€400
