Mick Cawston Pottery Sculpture of Badgers. This was made in Fathings studio on Exmoor and is thought to be Mick's first ever sculpture; it was certainly the first one he did after his move to Devon and we are not aware of a previous one. Size: 3" (8cms) High, Base: 6"x 3" (15 x 8cms). Its condition is not bad, the paint has worn off in many places but there is no substantial damage to the pottery itself that we can see. It is loose on its base. Very much a collector's piece and a little bit of history! Sold as seen. As with the bronze sculptures we will not ship these, they are collection only.

Midnight Purple, V-Spec, 26 years ownership and just 12,500 miles from new is a hard combination to beat! The R33 is now rightfully seeing the appreciation it deserves and what an undeniably incredible example this one is following its major service. The R33 was surrounded by huge hype following the popularity and cult status of the R32 and was unveiled at the 30th Tokyo Motor Show in August 1993, with the public having to wait until January 1995 for the GT-R to hit dealerships. This stunning 1995 R33 GT-R V-Spec is a remarkable example that's been preserved amazingly well and is one of 805 Series 1 V-Spec cars finished in the synonymous Skyline colour of LP2 Midnight Purple. It has covered just 12,500 miles from new, untouched by modifications even down to the seldom-seen original twin-pipe exhaust, with the car retaining all the original Japanese safety stickers and decals, preserved in remarkable condition. As a 1995 car, it spent its first three and a half years in Japan before being imported to the UK by the Toy Store Motor Company in 1999, who converted the speedometer to MPH, when our vendor purchased and registered the car in their name meaning it benefits from single UK-ownership. The reupholstered interior colour change was undertaken during its time in Japan and complements the car nicely. Changing from cloth to leather, the original seats, door cards and handbrake/shift boot were re-trimmed, so to put back to standard would be a remarkably easy task. The interior features lots of its original components such as the correct GT-R chequered flag mats. The car has been in long term, temperature-controlled storage and, as is frequently the case, the original book packs and Japanese history have been misplaced, so its history is limited to its UK V5C and invoicing for recent recommissioning work. The refresh has been undertaken by marque experts, Green End Garage, and included the timing belt, spark plugs and all fluids to give full confidence to a future custodian. Little used over here, it has covered just 30 miles between 2006-2024, and will come to auction with a fresh MOT offering peace of mind. The car appears absolutely on the button both mechanically and cosmetically. It's worth noting that there appears to be an erroneous input on the GT-R Registry where it states the car is white, however, as shown by the chassis number and chassis plate, it has always been LP2 Midnight Purple. The exterior, in totally original condition with gleaming paintwork, features the impossible-to-source 'V-Spec' decals and GT-R badges, factory-stamped forged 17" alloy wheels, Xenon headlights and adjustable rear spoiler. Accompanied by its original GT-R keys, this low mileage R33 GT-R V-Spec is just sensational to drive. Having spent so much time in a temperature controlled storage facility, under the ownership of its single enthusiast UK custodian, this car has been preserved exceptionally well, a testament to the previous owner and an asset to the next. Road &Track Magazine summarised the R33 GT-R very well in July, 2019 stating 'It isn't just better than you'd expect, it might well be the high-point of GT-R heritage'.The R33 GT-R has been criminally underrated for a long time, sometimes subdued by the racing pedigree and successes of the R32 GT-R, and the cult-like following and Hollywood stardom of the R34 GT-R but thankfully, the Japanese performance car market has woken up and there is an opportunity to be part of it with this original, well-cared for, low ownership and incredibly low-mileage R33. We welcome any inspection of this example; it will not disappoint.Specification Make: NISSAN Model: SKYLINE R33 GT-R Year: 1995 Chassis Number: BCNR33006649 Registration Number: N210 SGY Transmission: Manual Engine Number: RB26 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 12535 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: Purple/White LeatherClick here for more details and images
One of the most powerful and rare cars of its era, this Super Snake (#334) has been in the UK since 2008 and has covered a little over 12,000 miles from new. A legend worthy of the moniker, and perhaps the only household name of the 20th century that had to scrub his hands clean at the end of a working day, Carroll Shelby once described himself as 'just a guy from East Texas who likes cars' but was the embodiment of the American dream, and quite literally an oil-rags to riches story. Long before his association with Ford, the story of a bankrupt poultry farmer's journey to the Le Mans winner's podium within a decade is worthy of a film in of itself. The critically acclaimed 2019 box office hit Ford vs Ferrari, also known as Le Mans ‘66, tells the Oscar-winning story of Carroll Shelby’s development of the epic GT40 race car. However, Shelby had long been synonymous with high performance variants of the Ford engine with the launch of the Shelby AC Cobra in 1962. Following his 1966 success and seeing an opportunity to capitalise on it, Ford entrusted Shelby with their Mustang model to re-engineer under Shelby American from 1965 to 1967 and Shelby Automotive from 1968 to 1970. Humble he may have been, but ever the businessman he understood the importance of branding and we can think of few people today that could get the leading motor manufacturer in the world to have a model named after them. The Mustang-based Shelby GT350 and later GT500 quite literally muscled into the blue collar performance car market that came to define the American motor industry’s image for that period. Shelby and Ford parted company soon after but, following the introduction of the fifth-generation Ford Mustang, the Shelby name was revived in 2007 for new high performance versions but this time designed and built by Ford based on the Shelby GT500. Whilst Carroll Shelby himself admitted that the 2007 GT500 was a fast car, he always enjoyed showing Ford engineers exactly what he could 'bring to the party'.So, in 2008, Shelby Automobiles offered the Super Snake conversion for the GT500, for those who thought 500bhp wasn’t enough and rather fancied upwards of 725bhp instead. Production was limited to 1,000 cars mainly built at the Shelby HQ in Nevada, however cars could also be re-engineered and reborn as the Super Snake at authorised 'modification centres' around the US and each car bore a plaque confirming the centre and production number known as a 'CSM'. In 2008, this Vapour Silver GT500 was converted to Super Snake specification by the Shelby American Inc. authorised modification centre at Tasca Ford of Rhode Island and assigned the CSM number #334.It speaks volumes that the car was shipped to these shores later that year and first registered with the DVLA on 1st October. Appropriately registered SS58 USA, it's presented to auction with just 12,029 miles, at the time of cataloguing, and the advisory-free MOT Certificate is valid until 28th August 2024.Perhaps the ultimate American muscle car of its era, this early Super Snake has the distinction of being one of the rarest and most powerful cars available today.Specification Make: FORD Model: MUSTANG Year: 2008 Chassis Number: 1ZVHT88S185148569 Registration Number: SS58 USA Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 12029 Miles Make: Only LHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
The 2002 Motor Show Car, first registered to TVR Ltd and then Chairman Peter Wheeler. A remarkable modern classic from the end of British sports car history. One of the rarest TVRs ever produced and perhaps the last modern sports car to be launched in such a uniquely British way. Understood to be the first of two 2002 Motor Show cars commissioned by TVR chairman Peter Wheeler and featured in that year’s Top Gear British Motor Show Special presented by Suzie Perry. The factory build-sheet confirms that the car was built for the Motor Show and Peter Wheeler’s name is written on the underside of the interior trim, found when the car was later re-trimmed by our vendor. Named for its 3.5-litre petrol engine, the 350 C was produced in limited numbers when compared to more mainstream production sportscars, yet kept the Blackpool workshops pretty busy with 390 examples built. This car is even more special as it was factory-fitted with a speed-six 4-litre engine and was the car used as a Press Car, still badged as a 350C. Owned by TVR Engineering for the first three years, the car was subsequently purchased by a dealer and our vendor is the third private keeper. The excellent service history is complemented by a documented engine rebuild at 56,000 miles and the car has been subtly upgraded with ceramic coated manifolds, Sagaris brakes, Bilstein 'S' shock absorbers from the Tuscan and T350 Eibach springs all round.A unique car that differs in features and power from later production cars, this car’s provenance is fascinating and it's presented to auction with a cherished registration number, a huge history file and its Swansea V5C. This rare TVR had covered 82,000 miles at the time of cataloguing and the MOT is valid until August 2024.Specification Make: TVR Model: 350C Year: 2003 Chassis Number: SDLFB17A52B001596 Registration Number: T3 VOC Transmission: Manual Engine Number: P6403016 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 82000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Dark Blue LeatherClick here for more details and images
Classically beautiful, top of the range, 493bhp, 5.5-litre AMG SL fitted with the £8,500 F1 Performance Pack. Introduced in 2002 after some five years in development, the R230 Series SL Roadster was an engineering ‘tour de force’. Painstakingly modelled on a state-of-the-art supercomputer which enabled the designers to analyse every curve and line, it looked utterly sensational with an air of barely contained aggression that gave it huge road presence. Packed full of sophisticated electronic driver aids which made it immensely safe but still fun to drive, it was an instant success and is widely considered to be the best-looking Mercedes for many years. In late 2003, the striking SL55 AMG was introduced. Seriously powerful and impressively fast, the 5.4-litre V8 was rated at 493bhp with a stump-pulling 520 lbs/ft of torque. From 2004, the SL55 AMG could be further enhanced by the addition of the £8,500 ‘F1’ Performance Pack (Code 030) offering a host of upgrades including a limited-slip differential, SL65 front bumper, SL65 19" split-rim alloys, bigger composite disc brakes, an uprated oil cooler, modified software for the ABC as modelled at the Nurburgring and the top-speed limiter was raised to 186mph.This superb example is presented in Iridium Silver with a red leather interior and was first registered on 10th March 2004. Since then, it's patently been well cared for and lightly used on special occasions to account for its 23,071 miles at the time of cataloguing. The car is presented to auction with book packs, reams of receipts, Swansea V5C and an advisory-free MOT valid until August 2024.Elegantly styled with an interior flourish that sets it apart, this car is very much a 'wolf in sheep’s clothing'.Specification Make: MERCEDES-BENZ Model: SL55 AMG Year: 2004 Chassis Number: WDB2304742F073640 Registration Number: TBA Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 11399260025327 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 23000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Red LeatherClick here for more details and images
Right-hand drive JDM Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R, sympathetically modified but remaining largely unmolested. Following up on its widely celebrated R32 predecessor, the arrival of Nissan’s R33-generation Skyline GT-R in 1995 played a big part in the model’s eventual long-term success. Just prior to its release, several major Japanese auto manufacturers signed a panic-induced 'gentlemen’s agreement' with the government, limiting new model performance rating figures to 276bhp. There had, perhaps, never been a more inauspicious moment to release a sports car in Japan. Nissan, for its part, printed official marketing materials for the R33 which did not mention that the engine delivered approximately 300bhp straight from the showroom floor. The R33 nevertheless debuted at an optimal moment in popular culture. Video games such as Gran Turismo popularized the Skyline and other Japanese performance cars of the era even in the US and other envious markets where the GT-R was not be sold. It perpetuated the Skyline GT-R’s nickname, 'Godzilla, the monster from Japan', earned by the R32 after stellar performances in early 1990s Australian motorsport, as car enthusiasts embraced Nissan as a force to be reckoned with. Indeed, the R33 would make appearances in the first few Fast & Furious films of the 2000s, and its R34 successor was notably driven by the late Paul Walker, further publicizing the Skyline GT-R name.Finished in Motorsport White with a grey interior, this superb R33 GT-R has been sympathetically modified but remains largely unmolested throughout with an impressive cockpit area enhanced by a carbon fibre pack and a well detailed engine bay should the show arena beckon. Mechanically, it still wears the original turbos on factory settings running through equal-length downpipes supplied by RHD Japan, fitted in 2020 with unspent gases exiting through a Blitz Nur Spec exhaust system. Recently serviced, the Skyline is running and performing well and it is clear to see that it has been maintained as required over the years by its fastidious custodians including general services and cam belt changes being adhered to as and when required.Other works carried out over the years are detailed in the comprehensive history file that accompanies the car. Currently running on a set of Enkei RFPi alloy wheels fitted with Yokohama Advance AD08 tyres, the Nissan presents extremely well and with the JDM market moving on at a pace, your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the quality of this increasingly desirable Skyline.Specification Make: NISSAN Model: SKYLINE R33 GT-R Year: 1995 Chassis Number: BCWR33005746 Registration Number: J222 DST Transmission: Manual Engine Number: RB26 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 106600 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images
**Please note for clarity the original exhaust and tyres will be available after the sale, free of charge, to be collected from the vendor. The custom car cover and dash cover will be with the car.The ‘factory underseal’ is incorrect and is actually wax oil that our vendor removed and cleaned from the underside and engine bay, with some parts still visible in the door shuts. The car is totally unrestored and for every MOT the underside was sprayed with ACF50 to protect and preserve the immaculate condition of the car.The spare wheel is brand new, and Ford First Aid Kit, supplementary workshop manual, original owner’s guide wallet from Bristol Street Motor, original boxed fog lamps, tax disc holder and original car mats will be included.** Arguably the finest condition RS500 we have brought to market. #433 presents in wonderfully original condition with an incredibly low warranted mileage of just 12,802. On offer from 21 years of cherished ownership with multiple concours wins under its belt. If the RS Cosworth was an homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded 'evolution' model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500, with the vast majority (392) being finished in Black, 56 in Diamond White and 52 in Moonstone Blue. All RS500s had modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled. Indeed, during the model's 30th Anniversary year in 2017, the RS500 was named the 'Ultimate Cosworth' by one of the UK's biggest one-make car shows. The car presented here is the 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth, #433, finished in Diamond White and despatched from Tickfords on 6th August 1987 to Bristol Street Motors of Cheltenham. It was immediately registered by its first keeper as E100 GFH, before becoming the totally appropriate E433 COS during our vendor’s ownership. The condition of the car is truly remarkable. Iconic Auctioneers (formerly Silverstone Auctions) has been fortunate enough to bring over 30 RS500s to market, and this is undeniably one of, if not the, best of all. The paintwork is immaculate, with no evidence of having been touched over the years, appearing to be all original. The interior of the car truly sets it apart from the rest, having benefited from living in a temperature-controlled garage, under a custom-made RS500 car cover, with custom-made covers protecting the dashboard, gear knob and steering wheel, a wonderful example of just how cherished this ‘pride and joy’ car is. Mechanically it has never been messed with, retaining all its original parts, except for the new/old stock original specification exhaust, with the original item accompanying the car at the sale.In 2007, our vendor set his mind on sourcing and buying the best RS500 he could find to add to his Collection, and that is exactly what he achieved here. Following months of research, viewings and knowing the right people, he was able to find the car in question, #433, and purchased it for what, at the time, was the highest ever price paid for an RS500. Shortly after taking delivery in 2007, he set about removing as much of the factory underseal as possible in order to showcase the condition of the car’s underside being as strong as the topside. The well presented history file makes for confidence-inspiring reading and displays the same amount of attention to detail as the rest of the car. The original book packs are present in their original wallets, including the main stamped service book up to 9,167 miles, a large quantity of invoices for parts and maintenance and almost every single MOT from new in chronological order, confirming the car’s low indicated mileage. Although only used very lightly, the RS has been regularly serviced, maintained and detailed during our marque-expert vendor’s ownership, primarily undertaken by him, including two cam belt changes. His ‘perfectionist’ attention to originality can be illustrated by the fact that his cars are always stored on padded mats to ensure that the tyres never become squared-off due to lack of movement. The original set of tyres will accompany the car at the sale, alongside the original exhaust. This uncompromising approach might explain why this gleaming white RS500 may well be the best you have ever seen, and truly needs to be seen in the metal to be fully appreciated.#433 has been lovingly taken to shows and events where it has won a borderline embarrassing amount of awards, undoubtedly as a result of its incredible condition and microscopic attention to every detail. We understand that #433 drives as perfectly as you’d imagine, with a pure, unspoilt and original feel.Well known and much respected within the Owners Club, just 12,805 miles indicated, recently serviced with a fresh MOT and documented long term meticulous care from a dedicated owner all suggest that this is a remarkable opportunity and we invite and encourage your viewing of this best of breed example of a model that is considered the 'high-water mark' in Ford’s enviable back-catalogue.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: SIERRA RS500 COSWORTHYear: 1987Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGG38799Registration Number: E433 COSTransmission: ManualEngine Number: GG38799Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 12802 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Grey ClothClick here for more details and images
Superbly presented, matching numbers, left-hand drive 4.2-litre Series I Roadster in a stunning colour combination with only four miles since a total restoration. After all the fuss and fanfare of the 1961 launch of Jaguar's original 3.8-litre E-Type had died down, the company quietly introduced the new 4.2-litre car in late 1964. It was more of an evolution than a new model, but was significantly improved with more torque, a user-friendly gearbox, better brakes, brighter headlights and at long last, reasonably comfortable seats. It remained in production until the arrival of the one year-only Series I½ in 1967 followed by the S2 in 1968. With the benefit of hindsight, it's generally felt that early SIs, with their covered headlights and slimline bumpers, are the ones to have, retaining the elegant, uncluttered, head-turning lines of the original 3.8s but so much more enjoyable to drive. This beautifully presented, left-hand drive, Series I 4.2-litre E-Type Roadster was shipped new to New York, finished in Carmen Red with a black leather interior, where it was first registered to a Mr Robert Oraheim on 5th October 1965. Fast forward to the 2000s and the Jaguar was to be found in Oldenzaal, Netherlands where it was acquired in 2015 by its current owner. Not long after his purchase, he commissioned a fastidious full nut and bolt restoration, the quality of which is obvious today. His intention was to create his personal ‘dream car’ finished and equipped exactly as he wanted. Naturally it was fully stripped, sandblasted, repaired where necessary and then prepared to accept numerous coats of Jaguar’s Golden Sand (a period correct factory colour). The engine and gearbox were rebuilt as were the suspension, brakes, hydraulics, electrics, in fact everything that you normally do when restoring an E-Type to concours-condition. The black leather interior was replaced by one in Bordeaux Red with matching carpets and a black dashboard and the attention to detail is really impressive.Upgrades were carefully thought out and include ‘Dynamat Xtreme’ throughout offering better sound proofing and floor temperature control, a ‘Sundym’ windscreen to help keep the cockpit cool supported by modern air-conditioning, and beautiful 6.5" x 15" chrome wire wheels wrapped in new Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres. The soft top is now in a matching shade of red and the factory hard-top is finished in a Mercedes Obsidian Black. The Jaguar is now in the UK and UK-registered, remaining quietly in a heated garage as part of a private Collection and having covered just four miles since the restoration. It’s accompanied by its tool kit, jack, spare wheel, car cover and its Heritage Certificate.Over the years here at Iconic Auctioneers, combined with Classic Car Auctions, we have been entrusted with the sale of 378 examples of Jaguar’s legendary E-Type, it must be said, at varying levels of ‘gloriousness’, however, this lovely Series I is undoubtedly up there with the most desirable. Exactly what you hope to find – from 35 years long-term ownership, just one former keeper, impressively original, only 50,000 miles and in desirable Moonstone Blue. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold - somewhat worrying when the company's initial approach to the dealer network came back with an estimate that suggested they could sell around 1,500 units! The eventual sales record is, of course, history, Ford going on to sell 5,545 three-door cars (including the RS500, of which only 500 were built).Launched for sale in July 1986, and based on the three-door Sierra bodyshell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! The car presented here is a 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth in arguably the model’s best and most desirable colour. With just 32,000 miles indicated back in 1989, it was purchased by two close friends who used it only on dry days and very infrequently, adding a further 18,000 miles before it was placed into warm, dry storage in 1993. The friends have recently uncovered their beloved Cosworth from that closeted environment and rolled it out into the daylight. 'Wow, it was amazing, just like we parked her up yesterday; even that famous Cossie smell was still present!'. Thinking it wise to recommission the car, to bring it back to life properly, it was sent to a master mechanic and Cosworth expert where all mechanical components were removed, stripped, examined and rebuilt where necessary, including the engine, using genuine OEM parts as required. The fuel tank and rear exhaust section were replaced with Graham Goode parts, whilst the radiator is a Radtec of Cannock upgraded part. The wheels have been professionally refurbished and a set of new/old stock Dunlop D40 tyres fitted. The friends describe the paintwork as exceptional, and understand it to be wholly original. This special Ford is accompanied by numerous old MOT Certificates and paperwork, helping to corroborate the very conservative 50,000 miles indicted, plus its original / stamped Ford service booklet. With Fords of this era, ‘originality' is the key word, frequently misused but in the case of this car, totally appropriate, and any inspection is welcomed. The Cosworth has always been a car to draw attention. Its radical 'whale tail' ensured that it was always meant to be a poster boy of the time, but with their values now reaching such amazing levels – Iconic Auctioneers (formally Silverstone Auctions) sold a Moonstone example with 8,795 miles in November 2022 for £132,750 – where do we see this car, estimated at well under half as much as our record-holder? You will not be disappointed.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS COSWORTH Year: 1986 Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGB51491 Registration Number: A12 GOE Transmission: Manual Engine Number: GB51491 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 50200 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
**Please note for clarity the car comes with it’s original keys as supplied, and a custom made car cover** In immaculate condition and offered directly from its first and only owner having covered just 3,265 miles from new. Offered directly from ‘The Well Timed' Collection. In 2002, Ford launched the Focus RS, returning those famous letters to one of its cars for the first time since the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. The new Focus RS was inspired by Colin McRae's WRC rally exploits and featured a 2-litre Duratec RS engine with an advanced turbocharging system and oil-spray cooled pistons to achieve more power, which eventually peaked at 215bhp and 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds. The chassis was developed and a Quaife torque-biasing differential fitted to ensure optimal front-wheel drive tractability. Suspension was by uprated offset coil springs with Sachs Racing dampers whilst stopping power was provided by Brembo brakes. The cabin was competition-inspired and featured leather and Alcantara Sparco seats. The exterior of the car took a number of styling cues from the WRC rally cars and even used custom 18" O.Z. Racing alloy wheels as a nod to its competition cousin.Making the Focus RS this good on back roads meant changing almost every component. In the end, the roof, doors and bonnet remained the same as any other three-door Focus, but the rest of the exterior bodywork was new. In all, 521 parts were created just for the Focus RS, from the Sparco seats and handbrake lever, unique dials and starter button to the suspension and brakes. Ford built 4,501 Focus RS Mk1s, all individually numbered, and all thought to have been sold at a £4,000 loss to the company. Out of that total, 2,147 RS Mk1s were sold in the UK and, although the car still splits drivers' views, what isn’t in doubt is that this is now a prized modern classic. It's finished in Imperial Blue as they all were, with the Sparco front seats trimmed in contrasting black and blue leather with Alcantara inserts. The rear seats are similarly trimmed and the handbrake and gear knob are finished in machined aluminium. The interior is further enhanced by the addition of carbonfibre to the gear stick surround and the door cards have blue-trimmed inserts. This example was supplied by Hilary Brock Ltd of Buckinghamshire to its first and only registered keeper, our vendor, on 25th November 2003. It has always lived a cushy life, living in a temperature-controlled garage and parked on padding to ensure the wheels never squared off when not driven for a while. As expected, the V5C shows zero previous registered keepers. It's now presented to auction in exactly the condition that one would expect with a car that has covered just 3,235 miles from new, if anything, it’s even better, a testament to our vendor. The paintwork is simply perfect and untouched, the interior is spotless and the engine bay is wonderful, all in 100% original condition. The history file contains the RS-monogrammed book pack including the original purchase invoice, all manuals and stamped service book and the monogrammed key fobs are still attached to both keys. Here at Iconic, we are very lucky to deal with a vast array of special cars, but this is up there with the best, with incredibly low mileage, single ownership and undeniable time-warp condition. On offer from a significant private Collection, this low-mileage, original car has been the proud resident of some serious Collections of notable Fords. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986 and based on the three-door Sierra bodyshell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! In total 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra RS500 Cosworth. If the RS Cosworth was an homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded evolution model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, upgraded brakes, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980's Fast Ford! Indeed, during the model's 30th anniversary year in 2017, the RS500 was named the 'Ultimate Cosworth' by one of the UK's biggest one-make car shows. On offer here is a very special, UK-supplied, right-hand drive example presenting in wonderfully original condition and was showing just 13,985 on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. Finished in black with a grey cloth interior, the V5C details four former keepers and the car was formerly a resident of the renowned Bonkers Collection of low-mileage performance Fords. The Sierra is accompanied by its original owner’s manuals, maintenance invoices, stamped service booklet, an original sales brochure, a selection of magazines, an original first aid kit and an additional set of four genuine alloy wheels fitted with period correct Dunlop D40 tyres (for concours display only). Pleasingly, the seller is including the appropriate number plate, E500 YBD, in the sale.Cotswold Prestige carried out a lot of the maintenance work in recent years and we encourage and welcome all interested parties to go through the history file at our Documents Desk at the auction and see how much has been invested in this fabulous RS500 to keep it in the condition it's in today. On offer from a significant private Collection, this low-mileage, original car has been the proud resident of some serious Collections of notable Fords. BMM 917A is a previous RAC, Coupe des Alpes and Spa-Sofia-Liege rally entrant, restored by an enthusiast over recent years into fast-road spec. The 1,071cc Cooper S was the first Cooper S produced by BMC and the first of the Minis to succeed at the Monte Carlo Rally. Visits to the winners' circle became a regular event as the Mini chalked up numerous international race wins - including three at the prestigious Monte Carlo rally from 1964 to 1967. The definitive 'Giant Killer', only 4,000 or so 1,071cc-engined Mini Cooper S cars were made between April 1963 and August 1964.The car presented here started life as an early OEW/black 1963 Morris Mini Cooper 1071 S, which was built and first registered in May 1963 (according to its accompanying British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, number 92/784). It caught the eye of a young John Wadsworth (1937 – 2021) who went on to become a BMC Works Team driver and, although the car was despatched to Loxhams of Blackburn, it was registered in Middlesex, as John wanted one of the then new style, suffix registration numbers. John’s father was a customer of the Chequered Flag Garage in London and arranged for them to register the car as BMM 917A in late May 1963.John and BMM’s first major outing was on the 1963 Coupe des Alps, as car #57 (see website), where they finished in ninth place and second in class, winning a coveted Coupe. The Spa-Sofia-Liege followed as car #32 (see website), on which they retired and also graced the RAC Rally as car #61 (see image of it on the start ramp in Blackpool).Nothing is known, at the time of cataloguing, of BMM’s history after this time, before it was bought by our vendor’s father in June 1993 as a retirement project. He was an avid Mini enthusiast and over the following years, he set about restoring the car, utilising a later shell. The car was painstakingly worked on and finally finished, however not long after, the owner was taken ill before sadly passing away in February 2024. The family now wish for the car to be sold, and below is the information that they have been able to glean from handwritten notes left in the workshop:Bodyshell - Professionally restored and resprayed in red with a white roof, 'Works' alloy doors, fibreglass boot lid.Engine/drivetrain: 1,275cc engine bored out to 1,293cc (fully balanced), Longman big valve head, 11:1 compression ratio (not unleaded), 649 full-race camshaft, duplex chain, Weber carburettor, double SU fuel pumps, oil cooler, Aldon distributor, lightened flywheel, high performance radiator, LCB manifold and RC40 exhaust; straight-cut gearbox, competition clutch, Salisbury LSD/Hardy Spicer couplingsSuspension/wheels: 1.5-degree negative camber bottom arms, adjustable shock absorbers, 7.5" front brake discs and rear Minifin drums, powder-coated Cooper S reverse rim wheelsOther: Top-tint laminated windscreen, 120mph speedometer, classic bucket seats and full harnesses; twin fuel tanks, leather bonnet strapThe family are also keen to state, 'Even though the car is classed as an historic vehicle, it was still presented for MOTs between 2013 and 2018; in that time, it always passed with 'No Advisories', covering just 465 miles. Since the last MOT, it has covered just ten miles before being laid up. The car has not moved since then (due to the owner's ill health) and has been stored in a dry garage.'Specification Make: MORRIS Model: MINI COOPER S 1275 Year: 1963 Chassis Number: KA254384633 Registration Number: BMM 917A Transmission: Manaul Engine Number: 9F-SA-H/19306 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Supplied new to British actor, Robin Ellis, this outstanding Interceptor II has been beautifully restored with absolute attention to detail and will continue to turn heads for another 50 years. Jensen's C-V8 replacement debuted in 1966, reviving a name first employed in the 1950s. However, several of the firm's traditions were broken in that the design was outsourced to Carrozzeria Touring and the bodies made of steel, not fibreglass. Early shells were built in Italy by Vignale prior to production being established at Jensen's Kelvin Way plant in West Bromwich. Power came from a 6,276cc (383ci) Chrysler V8, driving through either a 4-speed manual or 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission to an LSD Salisbury rear axle. Specification included electric windows, reclining seats, wood-rim steering wheel, radio with twin speakers, electric clock and reversing lights. Production of the Interceptor II (occasionally called the MkII or Series II) commenced in October 1969 and lasted for two years. This particular car has a chassis prefix, #123, so was one of 694 right-hand drive UK-cars powered by the E-Series 383ci V8 generating around 330bhp. It was first registered in the spring of 1970 and supplied new to British actor, Robin Ellis, best known for playing the leading role in the BBC series, Poldark, based on the novels of Winston Graham. Purchased for just under £8,000 or the equivalent of £150,000 in todays money, the Jensen was a serious car for special customers.Several enthusiastic owners enjoyed the Jensen over the years until 2015 when the decision was made to completely restore it. The car's condition today is testament to the outstanding workmanship of the specialist team commissioned to complete the restoration and we understand that this glorious, long-legged GT performs as well as it looks. The provenance and history of the Jensen is supported by a large history file containing the factory pre-sale inspection documents and paperwork which confirms that its first owner, Robin Adair Ellis, took delivery of the car on 6th May 1970. Also within the file is a detailed account of the restoration with supporting documentation, the current V5C ready for transfer or export, old MOT Certificates, the Heritage Certificate and a wealth of invoices for care and maintenance over the years, with the most recent service carried out in January 2023.The car was purchased by our vendor last year and fitted with a new power steering set up. The intention was to commission Jensen International Automotive to upgrade the car with their full Corvette engine and running gear conversion, at a cost of some £200,000, however, having viewed and subsequently purchased one of the early Corvette-engined, upgraded JIA cars from us in November 2023, he thoroughly enjoys the car and plans to keep it, making this car surplus to his requirements.Finished in a lovely shade of very pale grey, the Jensen continues to attract all the right attention and as a well restored and very well-maintained example, should only require basic maintenance. A rare blend of Italian styling, an American engine and British craftsmanship, these big GTs are comfortable and relatively practical with rear seats and a decent boot. It's a beautiful British classic that will undoubtedly be the talking point at any classic car show or event and would be welcome anywhere.Specification Make: JENSEN Model: INTERCEPTOR II Year: 1970 Chassis Number: 1233736 Registration Number: SUX 879H Transmission: Automatic Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Stylish 1950s top-down motoring offering more power, comfort and value compared to its European contemporaries. A nicely mellowed, older restoration from eight years of UK-ownership. Long before the Cadillac became known as the softly sprung, luxuriously appointed land yacht we recognise from the 1960s and 1970s, it had fought a fierce battle to be considered a serious sports car among its American contemporaries during the late 1940s. The few pre-war designed European sportscars that found their way Stateside barely tempted the domestic market who adored the swooping, if rather rotund, flanks, the acres of chrome, refinements like electric windows and all powered by a gruffling V8. They made European sports cars seem somewhat flimsy and it must have been therefore a bewildering sight to see Briggs Cunningham at the wheel of a new, outwardly standard 1950 Cadillac Coupe alongside the Ferraris, Aston Martins and Jaguars on the grid of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Finishing tenth overall, the Cadillac averaged 81.5mph for the entire 24-hour event with top speeds of around 120mph achieved on the Mulsanne Straight.Domestically, 1950 was a significant year for Cadillac too, as they finally surpassed Packard in sales and would go on to dominate the American luxury market for several generations. Along with styling, elegance, and luxury, the performance aspect of Cadillac was taken to new heights with the launch of the 62 Series and these models are regarded as the most typical examples of 1950s styling with swooping lines and acres of chrome. Naturally, a luxuriously appointed convertible was the car of choice for the successful and remains the indelible image of the era’s 'American Dream'.Built in 1952, this fabulous Cadillac was restored before arriving in the UK and subsequently registered here on 1st September 2013 to the first of just two keepers. The 1952 cars were powered by an all-new 331ci (5.4-litres) OHV V8 featuring wedge-shaped combustion chambers, 'slipper' pistons and hydraulic valve lifters, and now offered a respectable 160bhp. Well presented in ivory with a glorious bright red interior, it has been well maintained by our vendor since his purchase in 2016 as the invoices on file testify. Offered from the eclectic collection of our well-regarded vendor, an auction regular of many years standing who is downsizing due to advancing years, it's accompanied by the aforementioned maintenance receipts and Swansea V5C.This third-generation Series 62 Cadillac is a piece of classic Americana and we think that it's a seriously tempting proposition given the realistic guide price and sheer scale of this impressive American icon.Specification Make: CADILLAC Model: CONVERTIBLE Year: 1952 Chassis Number: 526282784 Registration Number: 849 YUX Transmission: Automatic Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: Only LHD Interior Colour: Red Click here for more details and images
A UK-market car from 20 years ownership, fastidiously maintained, subtly enhanced and just 17,500 miles. By 1997, rallying had captured the imagination of petrolheads all over the world and Mitsubishi sold 6,000 Evolution IVs in the first three days of its launch! In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI came to be and in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite son’s four consecutive WRC drivers' titles from 1996-1999 - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Mäkinen Edition' (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour de force, but the TME had a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension, quicker steering, a different exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper and authentic 17" WRC Enkei alloy wheels. There was a special interior featuring embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw the 0-60mph time down to 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150mph. Power was rumoured to be over 300bhp, rather than the 276bhp 'agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge, it was now available in five colours, with Passion Red and Canal Blue joining Scotia White, Pyrenean Black and Satellite Silver. Only 250 TMEs (across the five colours) were officially imported into the UK, with 100 examples going to Australia and the rest sold domestically in the Japanese market. Official figures show that of the UK's allocation, only 50 examples were in Canal Blue, perhaps the more discreet colour for a TME.The car presented here is one of those in Canal Blue, so not only is it a genuine Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition (CP9A/SNGF2) car, but it is also an official UK-market example. This means it was officially imported by Mitsubishi-affiliated Ralliart UK and consequently it would have been professionally SVA'd. It's supplied with UK service books, a calibrated speedometer, an unleaded-spec fuel restrictor, cold-climate battery and an alternator, plus it is individually numbered with a plaque in the cabin, reading #119.It was supplied new through Ralliart Mitsubishi Motors/Colt Car Company Ltd of Gloucestershire and passed through a few enthusiast owners before being acquired by our vendor in 2004. He had always wanted a TME and bought the best example he could find. It was in superb original condition, with a full-service history and approximately 15,500 miles. Over the last 20 years, remarkably, the car has only covered just over 2,500 miles, yet no expense has been spared on maintenance, servicing, enhancement and care. Just some of the top-quality upgrades include: HKS Silent Hi Power exhaust, Ecutek remap, Walbro fuel pump, Turbosmart EBOOST 2 boost controller & dual port dump valve, AP Racing 6-pot 362mm brake kit and Ultralite ATEC ll alloy wheels. The car has been always garaged and stored on a trickle charger in an insulated private car cave. It's accompanied by its full bookpack including service booklet and numerous invoices for its upgrades and maintenance, giving any potential buyer huge confidence. After many years of diligent ownership, circumstances now mean that the family have to sell this special car and hope it goes to a similarly-minded enthusiast to use and enjoy.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: LANCER EVOLUTION VL 'TOMMI MAKINEN EDITION' UK-SPECIFICATION CHASSIS #060 Year: 2001 Chassis Number: CP9A0201389 Registration Number: Y232 HEU Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 4G63G0605 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 17541 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: TMEClick here for more details and images
**Please note for clarity the car has an ‘untouched underside’ and no restoration work has been done since its import. It retains its original GT-R mats and most of the standard original parts will be in the boot/included in the sale. The Rays wheels were on the car upon purchase and in our vendors ownership, all work has been undertaken by J A Kit and Customs with the exception of MOTs.** Simply put, this R34 is JDM royalty. Possibly the most iconic car from the modern classic era, immortalised in film franchises and rightfully adored by all. With mechanical upgrades and JDM goodies galore, this R34 is running c.550bhp, yet looks undeniably OEM+. Offered directly from ‘The Well Timed' Collection. The Skyline R34 GT-R is highly revered by all, whether a JDM aficionado or not, one cannot deny their presence and popularity in the car world. Standing as arguably the most iconic Japanese performance car in history. Whilst many of the PlayStation generation may have first experienced the drama of the R34 GT-R V-Spec through Gran Turismo, it was its appearance in the Fast and Furious franchise that led to an explosion in global popularity for the R34 GT-R, with the late Paul Walker driving one in 2 Fast 2 Furious, enhancing its almost cult status. But it was in the 'real' world where the R34 GT-R V-Spec would cement its reputation. Described by Evo magazine as 'A warrior-class performer' in its 2007 road test, where a standard R34 GT-R was pitted against the likes of the McLaren F1, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari F40 and Bugatti Veyron, the GT-R’s reputation as a class act remained intact. While the R34 may not be able to claim the original 'Godzilla' title, as that remains with the R32 GT-R, the newcomer certainly carried the torch, and arguably the R34 GT-R has become the most iconic and most recognised car ever to emerge from Japan, especially in their late 1990s golden era. The R33 GT-R was a very good car, but many found it to be too bulky in design and too heavy to be a worthy successor to the R32 GT-R, which the R34 sought to rectify and did so with flying colours. Released with a shorter, sharper design and the performance to match, it’s safe to say the bite truly matches the bark. The car featured aggressive new styling, a stiffer bodyshell and a reworked version of the bulletproof and highly modifiable RB26DETT twin-turbo inline-six under the bonnet, mated to an all-new Getrag 6-speed gearbox and transfer case, although the electronically-controlled Super HICAS rear-wheel steering system was retained. Unlike some other performance cars of the 1990s, Nissan did not neglect the braking system and fitted Brembo brakes with 300mm vented discs. For a car released in 1999, the R34 came crammed full of technology meaning it was well ahead of its time. It featured a 5.8" LCD multifunction display in the dashboard, showing seven different live readings of engine and vehicle statistics such as boost pressure, oil/water temperature and throttle percentage among others. The V-Spec was introduced in October 1999, just nine months after the launch of the R34 Series I, making it an almost immediate upgrade over the standard car. While the Series I was a fantastic car, the improvements were thorough and ensured the V-Spec and V-Spec II cars are even more desirable. Changes for the V-Spec included an improved suspension system, featuring stiffer springs and dampers, Brembo brakes as standard, lighter forged aluminium wheels allowing wider tires, an active Limited Slip Differential and an improved aero package with a front lip spoiler and carbon fibre rear wing.Arguably the black sheep of 'The Well Timed' Collection, this R34 is simply phenomenal. Of the 11,578 R34 GT-Rs produced, just 1,238 of them were Bayside Blue (TV2) V-Spec Is, and this is surely one of the finest examples to reach the open market. This R34 GT-R V-Spec I presents in simply exceptional condition and has been maintained religiously throughout its eight-year UK ownership. Within the history file there is every MOT since its 2015 import and a whole host of Japanese paperwork including the original service pack, featuring an abundance of rarely kept Japanese maintenance paperwork, original Skyline instruction manual and three sets of keys. Additionally, there is paperwork documenting its upgrades whilst in Japan including the ¥915,000 (c.£5,000) sheet of fitted JDM upgrades including HKS, NISMO and Apexi parts amongst others, as well as their accompanying sales sheets. The bulk of the UK servicing has been undertaken by J A Kit & Customs, as well as by our enthusiast vendor. Our vendor wanted the car to be the best of the best, whilst retaining OEM/OEM+ aesthetics and fitted a host of upgrades including bronze Rays CE28 wheels, electronically adjustable Tein coil-over suspension, NISMO sway bars, an HKS turbo timer, new turbos, a Link G4 ECU and a host of undetectable mechanical upgrades (summary sheet provided in history file), which allowed marque specialist tuner, Martin Battye, to extract well over 500bhp from the wonderful RB26.With the way that R34 GT-R prices have skyrocketed comfortably into the six-figure department in recent years, this cherished, uprated, Bayside Blue example is surely the last chance to acquire such a desirable car for reasonable money, especially considering the 25-year import rule has now legalised the import of this car into the USA.Sympathetically upgraded to OEM+ specification, this GT-R looks, drives and is exactly what you’d wish a GT-R to be. Audi's Quattro is a legend that re-wrote the form book in International Rallying, as well as causing rival manufacturers to rethink their offerings and was, quite literally, a trailblazer. The story began with Audi chassis engineer Jörg Bensinger, who spent a Finnish winter testing the Volkswagen Iltis, a four-wheel drive West German military and forest service vehicle, and found it could outperform all other machines on snow, whatever their type or power output. He put the idea of a four-wheel drive version of the Audi 80 Coupé to the company's hierarchy and, well, you know the rest. The resulting model was launched to great excitement at the 1980 Geneva Salon and then released to European customers later the same year, powered initially by the WR-prefixed, 2,144cc in-line, five-cylinder, 10-valve SOHC unit with turbocharger and intercooler. For the 1988-model year, Audi introduced the most significant changes yet. The second-generation Quattro was cosmetically little altered but, at its heart, the new Quattro MB had an engine that was 93cc bigger than before at 2,226cc. It was fitted with hydraulic instead of solid lifters, compression was increased from the original 7:1 to 8.6:1 and a new KKK K24 turbo replaced the early car’s K26 item. Turbo-boost was reduced from 0.68 bar to 0.56 bar and there was a new electronic 'wastegate' control. Although the MB Quattro's official power output of 200bhp at 5,500rpm was unchanged, the new car offered peak torque lower in the rev range: 270lb/ft at 3,000rpm instead of 285lb/ft at 3,500rpm. The Quattro’s 5-speed manual transmission was uprated with a Torsen torque-sensing differential and the brakes were uprated with twin-piston calipers and a larger master cylinder.Production of the MB Quattro continued from August 1987 until July 1989, at which point it was replaced by the 20-valve RR variant, making the MB the rarest iteration. On offer here is a very special, UK-supplied, right-hand drive Quattro MB that's showing just one previous registered keeper on the V5 and had only covered 49,960 miles from new at the time of cataloguing. First registered on 25th August 1988, the car is finished in Nautic Blue and is accompanied by its original service book (12 stamps), marketing material, booklets and previous MOTs.The last service recorded in the booklet was in April 2000 at 49,347 miles so, remarkably, it’s only covered 613 miles during the past 24 years having been cherished in long-term storage for over two decades. In the past couple of years, the Quattro has been thoroughly mechanically recommissioned in order to return to the road and the results of this hard work are clear to see. The car now boasts a current MOT valid until July 2024 and we really do recommend interested parties come along to Sywell Aerodrome to see this example in the metal. To find a rare 'MB' Quattro that shows just one previous registered keeper, has covered less than 50,000 miles and is fresh to market from long term ownership is a rare opportunity and this one will surely reward a closer inspection.Specification Make: AUDI Model: QUATTRO 10V Year: 1988 Chassis Number: WAUZZZ85ZJA900593 Registration Number: A601 XAM Transmission: Manual Engine Number: MB001349 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 49960 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Well presented in Galway Green, this Defender 90 was originally part of the late Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham Estate. The humble Land Rover Defender is one of life's great classless cars, being favoured by all walks of life looking for a reliable go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle. From Royalty to land workers, from Kensington to the Kyle of Lochalsh, you’ll be sure to find a Defender working away exactly as Solihull’s engineers designed it to do.Powered by a plethora of petrol and turbocharged diesel engines and boasting all wheel-drive, low and high-range gearing, advanced suspension setups and a seemingly endless list of both factory and after-market customisation options, the Defender is rightfully referred to as the king of all production off-road vehicles, and remains both a design icon and a landmark part of automotive history to this day.For 2007, the Defender benefited from a serious refresh with a new common-rail diesel EU4-compliant engine from the Ford Transit, a new 6-speed gearbox, new fascia, new seats and a heating and ventilation system that actually works.Offered in the rather exclusive combination of Galway Green with a black cloth interior, this lovely Defender 90 County spent the first 18 months of its life on the late Queen's beloved Sandringham Estate. When it returned to Land Rover Vehicle Operations at Gaydon in 2010, it had only covered only 679 miles. It was sold through Harwoods Land Rover to its second owners who used it in Scotland for a few years before driving it down to Spain to enjoy at their property down there. It was subsequently sold to a dealer in Spain and later returned to the UK in 2021.This lovely Land Rover County has now covered some 41,725 miles and is supplied with an MOT valid until July 2024 showing ‘No Advisories’. The service book details five services, mostly completed by main dealers, and a history file that contains numerous previous MOTs.As 'evergreen' as ever, these defining Defender 90 Counties still have the ability to blend into any occasion and, with its early Sandringham connection, would be welcome anywhere. Quite possibly the most British vehicle imaginable; a Range Rover Classic with an Aston Martin V12 heart. Fabulously detailed, in wonderful condition, a bonkers idea turned into a wonderful reality. The first-generation Range Rover, now coined the Range Rover Classic, was produced from 1970, with the two-door models remaining hugely popular to this day. Whilst certainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, the early Range Rovers had rather basic, utilitarian interiors with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards that were designed to be washed down with a hose. Convenience features such as power-assisted steering, carpeted floors, air conditioning, cloth/leather seats and wooden interior trim became more common later in the production run. Marketed as 'A Car for All Reasons', the Range Rover was more capable off-road than the Land Rover and was much more comfortable, whilst also offering a top speed of almost 100mph. With the quality of performance and ‘go anywhere’ capability with timeless styling, one can easily see why the Range Rover has been the chariot of choice by the Royal Household, celebrities, military, emergency services, explorers, and everyone in between for decades. It can be argued that the car presented here hasn’t exactly taken the path of least resistance. Quite the opposite in fact… Surely one of the most exquisite projects to reach completion, this 1971 Range Rover Classic is unlike any other. The story starts with the team at Bishops 4x4 sitting having a beer after work when a conversation sprung up about what engine to transplant into one of their ‘restoration stock’ which already had an incorrect powerplant. With the boss, Chris Bishop, having a huge appreciation for Aston Martin, but at the time without one in the garage, it became almost inevitable that a Range Rover/Aston Martin ‘lovechild’ was on the horizon. The technical specifications paint quite the picture on the level of creativity and craftsmanship the Bishops 4x4 team put into the car. Almost every single aspect has been improved, upgraded, or strengthened to end up with a fabulous cocktail of Britishness that will likely never be repeated, certainly not to this level. The car was essentially built as a showcase for what Bishops 4x4 could do, and while they knew it would be a long project, I don’t think anyone imagined it would take the next 2.5 years of full-time work to complete. The base car was a 1971 Range Rover ‘Suffix A’ that was in dire need of restoration, already housing an incorrect engine, and the Aston Martin DB7 V12 powerplant was selected for a few reasons. Firstly, the boss has a soft spot for Aston Martins, especially the V12s. Secondly it was the biggest and best power unit they could lay their hands on, with 420bhp and 400lb/ft torque, even if the crashed donor car did cost over £5,000 alone. Thirdly, and hugely importantly, it was because they were told it couldn’t be done. Clearly this was time for a “Challenge accepted” mentality.A monstrous amount of engineering went into the build of the car. The front portion of the chassis rails had to have cut-out sections put into them before re-welding with strengthening bars to compensate for the narrower rails. Due to the size of the V12, a significant proportion of the engine needed to sit under/through the scuttle in order to fit, which meant measuring, cutting and re-welding for weeks on end, with an emphasis on precision and tidiness, striving for a factory-like finish. Even with the cutting and remodelling, the engine still didn’t fit as it was, so the alternator was repositioned, which meant re-routing the ancillary drive-belt and making custom idlers to suit, with the coolant hoses and fuel pipes also requiring custom manufacturing.Supporting the modified chassis were a pair of stronger Defender-type axles with heavy-duty springs and Bilstein dampers. The front axle was then fitted with over £3,000 worth of AP Racing stopping power in the form of dinner plate-sized 362mm grooved and vented discs, with 6-piston callipers. The brakes were housed by 18-inch 5-spoke wheels with 285/65/18 Toyo Proxes tyres all-round. Due to their beefy size the tops of the arches had to be flared and the bottom of the wings altered to house them. Of course, cutting no corners, the flared arches were made up in-house from alloy. To assist its breathing, the inlet tubes were made up with free-flowing air filters feeding the inlet manifold, with the in-house custom stainless steel exhaust system fabricated in its entirety from the manifolds back. With the major mechanical complexities dealt with, it was then time to make the car run. A pair of tuneable ECUs were purchased, one for each bank of cylinders, which were then mapped to the Aston Martin factory ECU, as well as having a ‘Compushift’ mapping session for the 4-speed Ashcroft upgraded Land Rover ZF gearbox. The grille, now with twin headlights, was installed as an homage to the grandfathers of modifying and improving Range Rovers, Schuler and Overfinch, which certainly gives the car a distinctive look, if you somehow saw it before you heard it!Due to being a radically altered vehicle, instead of simply stating it had an alternative engine fitted and chancing it with the DVLA, Bishops 4x4 went down the V627/1 route, had the DVLA inspect the car and issue a Q-plate to reflect the changes. The exterior was painted in 4 layers of Bishops 4x4’s signature dark maroon colour, with a subtle grey roof. Three Aston Martin badges were fitted, one to each wing and one on the tailgate. The ‘piece de resistance’ is the airbrushed Union Jack flag on the bonnet, trailing up the wings, which took around two weeks to complete, but done so to embody the ‘Best of British’ theme the car truly represents. The interior is wonderful. It has been completed to an extremely high quality, commensurate with the external and mechanical work. It’s ultimately a blend of original and bespoke. With Range Rover seats retrimmed in soft brown leather and thick brown wool carpeting throughout. The dashboard is a wooden Wood and Pickett dash, from the workshop stock, modified to house an Aston Martin DB9 push button starter in the centre, flanked by a pair of chrome-rimmed gauges.Turning on the radio causes two Aston Martin tweeters to rise out the top of the dash, and the digital dash displays a virtual representation of the instruments from a Range Rover Classic featuring a rev counter, speedo, etc. By pushing the sport button, the dash changes the dials to represent what you see on an Aston Martin dashboard, again all digitally presented. The final touch was the build plate on the slam panel which reads AMRR007001, giving a shared nod to both the Range Rover host and the Aston Martin heart and soul.It is not unfair to say that the whole project was brain-numbingly complex, and yet what a fantastically wonderful machine has emerged. The craftsmanship is simply unbelievable and needs to be seen in person. With the Range Rover being marketed as 'A Car for All Reasons', the reason for this is surely ‘Because we can’.You do not want to miss the opportunity to see this car in person. While the phrase ‘unrepeatable’ gets thrown around fairly frequently in the car world, I challenge anyone to say they could repeat this car, to this standard, in that timeframe, and offer it at such a reasonable estimate.SpecificationClick here for more details and images
Extremely well specified, finished in its original paintwork of Techno Violet over the amazingly rare factory-optioned Anthracite Alcantara M-Cross + Amaretta Vader interior, just 60,000 miles with its two owners and a full BMW service history from new. At the Paris Motor Show in 1992, BMW introduced the successor to the widely adored E30 M3 with the E36 M3. The second incarnation of the model was a different animal to the original 1980's E30, replacing the four-cylinder with a straight-six, sleeker styling, modernised and a more refined demeanour. At the time, the Motorsport Division's new take on the iconic M3 was to utilise the standard M50TU engine (used in other E36s and earlier E34s), however there were numerous upgrades over the standard M50 including individual throttle bodies, continuously variable 'Vanos' valve timing, dual-mass flywheel, lightweight pistons, graphite-coated connecting rods, larger inlet valves and redesigned equal-length exhaust manifolds.Things continued to improve with the expansion of the range in 1994 with the arrival of the second generation E36 M3 Evolution cars powered by the new S52B32, a 3.2-litre straight-six with the compression ratio raised to 11.3:1, significantly upping the power output from 282bhp to 321bhp at 7,400rpm, mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a sequential DSG transmission. Other changes included a new Cornering Brake Control system and staggered 17" wheels, with meatier 225/45 ZR17 fronts and 245/40 ZR17 rear tyres. The E36 M3 Evolution was and still is regarded as one of the best sports cars of the 1990s and was awarded Best-Handling Car by Car and Driver magazine in 1997. BMW’s E36 M3 Evolution was destined to become a classic from the start but, although unfairly overlooked in recent years, its time will come. This stunning 1998 E36 M3 Evolution is arguably the best specified example we have ever seen, making it quite possibly the ultimate E36 M3 Evolution. A late car, first registered in October 1998, it's finished in the rare Techno Violet paintwork with the very, very rare Anthracite Alcantara M-Cross + Amaretta interior optioned from new and is fitted with a strong selection of optional extras.Becoming increasingly popular and difficult to source in excellent condition, this E36 M3 Evolution offers a rare opportunity to own an example that has covered a warranted 60,200 miles in the hands of its two owners from new. Having formed part of a private Collection of modern classics, the car has a history file that is as exemplary as its aesthetics. With 12 main dealer services and three additional BMW specialist services, it is safe to say that the car has been cossetted all its life and needs nothing. Our vendor is a true perfectionist and had the car inspected and detailed by a trusted detailer who has confirmed that (with the exception of the front bumper) the paintwork is all original, increasingly hard to find. There are a few minor stone chips present on the bonnet, but nothing more than what is to be expected. With so many of these E36 M3s being turned into track cars, race cars or simply not maintained, it is heartening to see such a wonderfully specified, original example in such outstanding condition. Criminally underrated, with values steadily on the rise, these E36 M3s truly warrant their time in the sun.Specification Make: BMW Model: E36 M3 EVOLUTION Year: 1998 Chassis Number: WBSBG92000EA90755 Registration Number: 44 MXW Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 60031851 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 60200 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey AlcantaraClick here for more details and images
Perhaps the most accomplished Evo ever, one of 35 examples specially enhanced by Mitsubishi to be a UK-market only model; 403bhp, 387lb/ft, 0-62mph in 3.8sec, just a single owner and only 7,600 miles. The Evo X is likely to go down in history - because since production stopped in 2016, Mitsubishi no longer sells a successor and, in fact, the brand has pretty much pulled out of the UK-market altogether. Buy an Evo X and you’re buying the ultimate evolution of one of the greatest performance car series ever. The Lancer Evo X was a bigger step on from its predecessor than any other model in the Lancer Evolution series. Like previous Evos, the unit was still a 2-litre turbocharged inline four, but the cylinder block was cast aluminium rather than cast iron. It was 12kg lighter as a result, used a timing chain rather than a belt and featured MIVEC valve-timing for both intake and exhaust valves, rather than just the intake. The raw statistics alone are impressive – 403bhp, 387lb/ft, and 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds – car magazine said: 'This is the best Evo X; it is quantifiably better – not just faster – than every other Evo X, and quite possibly the best Evo ever'.All FQ-400 Evo X cars started life as FQ-360s (and were registered as such) before being enhanced by Mitsubishi-appointed tuning companies and each FQ-400 had to be registered through an SVA/IVA Type Approval scheme due to the modifications. The engine output was now 201.7bhp per litre thanks to high-flow fuel injectors, a new hybrid turbo, upgraded intercooler, and re-mapped engine management. But the area where New Zealand-based WRC Developments (responsible, along with Ecutek, for the whole UK FQ line-up) has made the biggest difference is in the suspension, which now featured new Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs. Track widths are up 20mm front and rear and the whole body sits 30mm lower, those are big shifts, and they make a big difference. The brakes too, Alcons replacing the previous Brembos, are mightily impressive and are easier to modulate in the first inch of travel. The exterior was not neglected either with a redesigned bonnet, lightweight front bumper, restyled composite rear bumper, a trapezoidal centre-exit exhaust and lightweight 18" wheels. The car presented here is a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400, having covered just 7,600 miles from new with its one and only owner. It is #17 of 35 examples specially enhanced by Mitsubishi to be a UK-market only model. Offered to auction from the revered Mayo Collection, this is an exceptional car, remaining factory-standard. Looking suitably purposeful in Phantom Black (one of only six FQ-400 examples in this colour), it was supplied new through Mitsubishi dealership, Colt Cars UK Ltd., in 2010 and was first registered on 1st March. It's accompanied by its handbooks and sales brochure as well as a large history portfolio. Its original owner, a collector of some notable cars, sadly passed away last year and ownership passed to his sister who hasn’t even driven the car and now lives overseas. Iconic Auctioneers welcome any inspection of this limited production ‘supercar with four doors’, you will not be disappointed – it is quite possibly the best example of its type available.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: LANCER EVOLUTION X FQ-400 Year: 2010 Chassis Number: CZ4A0006599 Registration Number: HY10 AAO Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 4B11BT7758 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 8000 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
An ex-Ford Motor Company Press Car in Moonstone Blue with a grey cloth Recaro interior in all round excellent condition. In 1988, Ford introduced the four-door Sapphire Cosworth, a family saloon which was, perhaps, a little more discreet than its be-spoilered sibling. As the name suggests, it was based on the Sapphire saloon and used the existing 1,993cc Cosworth twin-cam turbo.A couple of years later, in January 1990, the third-generation Sierra RS Cosworth was launched, this time with four-wheel drive. As early as 1987, Mike Moreton and Ford Motorsport had been talking about a four-wheel drive Sierra RS Cosworth that could make Ford competitive in the World Rally Championship. Ford Motorsport's desire for a three-door 'Motorsport Special' equivalent to the original Sierra RS Cosworth was not embraced however, as it was felt that the more discreet, family-friendly four-door version was considered to have a better marketing potential. Consequently, it was decided that the new car should be a natural development of the second-generation cars and would be launched in conjunction with the facelift scheduled for the entire Sierra range in 1990. They were now powered by the 220bhp Cosworth YBG/YBJ mated to the Ferguson 4x4 MT75 transmission and 0-60mph took just 5.6 seconds, pretty impressive for a family saloon. On offer here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive Sapphire Cosworth that was used by the Ford Motor Company as a press car, featuring in many marketing materials as you can see in the images one our website. First registered on 15th March 1990, the Sapphire is finished in Moonstone Blue with a classic RS Recaro interior in grey velour and cloth and was showing 78,418 miles at the time of cataloguing. The vendor, a true RS-enthusiast, has owned this wonderful Ford Press Car since 1995 and he has kept it carefully garaged and maintained with regular lubrication services during this time. Coming to market due to retirement and subsequent loss of dry storage, the car will be presented to auction benefiting from a major service that included a fresh cambelt, water pump and an advisory-free MOT.It’s accompanied by both keys, a period Cobra Alarm, recently refurbished alloy wheels, its history file and an original copy of the July 1990 Fast Ford Magazine in which the car featured as part of its former press activity. This is an important example in all round excellent condition that’s worthy of serious consideration by any collector of RS Fords.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS COSWORTH Year: 1990 Chassis Number: WF0FXXGBBFLY26936 Registration Number: G364 COO Transmission: Manual Engine Number: LY26936 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 78418 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey ClothClick here for more details and images
An incredible opportunity to acquire possibly the finest low-mileage example of the best selling commercial vehicle in UK history, a Mk1 Ford Transit, rescued from its slumber by none other than TV's own Mike Brewer. Found nestled in the rear of a garage, this particular Transit was found by TV's own Mike Brewer some years ago. It had been acquired as an ex-German Fire Service truck, having been rolled out of its garage occasionally, cleaned regularly and attending very few events, explaining the low mileage. Those of us who spent their formative driving years at the wheel of a Mk1 Transit will remember them with fondness. Quick (when empty), nimble (they could out-handle an MG B), easy to drive and reverse and generally totally user friendly. Mike Brewer obviously felt the same way and was quick to snap up this left-hand drive 'Fire Engine Red' LWB twin-wheeler with about 10,000 miles (at the time) for a forthcoming episode of Wheeler Dealers (Season 17, Episode 13).During the programme, the unflappable Elvis explained the rather complex process of converting the van to right-hand drive in great detail. The first job was stripping the front end and removing the engine, gearbox and the many parts that were attached to the front bulkhead. Then the conversion could begin, and a chap called Keith had supplied a handy template so Elvis knew where to cut the holes for the steering gear and pedals. Back at the workshop, a clever plan to cut and weld the dashboard meant Elvis could re-locate the instrument binnacle and then it was a matter of fitting all the parts that would complete the conversion. The now right-hand drive van could head off to get a fresh coat of Ford Light Grey, its original colour. However, there was still plenty of work to do! A front leaf spring needed to be reconditioned, various new bushes fitted and the final drive ratio reduced from 5.8:1 down to 4.6:1 with a replacement crown wheel and pinion, enabling much more relaxed cruising whilst still retaining decent acceleration.Mike has called this one if his favourite builds on Wheeler Dealers and he certainly loved the result. It’s obvious at the end of the programme that he really didn’t want to part with the Transit but the whole idea of the show is that the vehicles have to be sold and it soon became the property of a local van dealer for the full asking price. The van dealer was a very helpful chap and agreed that Mike could borrow the Transit to take to the Classic Motor Show at the NEC a short time later as part of their Wheeler Dealers presentation, however once reunited with the van, Mike decided that he wanted to keep it and made his dealer friend an 'offer that he couldn’t refuse' and his beloved Mk 1 joined the Brewer Collection.Mike had no intention of selling the Transit, or either of his two Porsches also in our sale, but a rather exciting (and probably expensive) project is on the horizon so a bit of space needs to be created. We invite and encourage your viewing of this 'best of breed' LWB Transit.Specification Make: FORD Model: TRANSIT MK1 LWB Year: 1974 Chassis Number: GB81PT11846 Registration Number: SAT 78M Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 18000 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images
**Please note for clarity the original plenum and induction kit will be available after the sale, free of charge, to be collected from the vendor. The tracker is fitted but has never been turned on.The car comes with a custom made car cover.** Uncovered from its factory 'matte' wrap, the gleaming black paintwork has been brought up to a phenomenally high standard. In OEM+ condition with sympathetic Mountune upgrades and just under 7,700 miles from new. Offered directly from 'The Well Timed' Collection.Offered here is a very special RS500, #128/500, first registered in the UK on the 17th September 2010 as one of 101 right-hand drive examples and believed to be one of just two RS500s fitted with the striking Red Nappa Leather front seats, from factory, from new.The history file is very impressive, containing a plethora of paperwork and documentation from the second it was ordered. It comes with its original book pack with a stamped service history up to 4,500 miles. It was ordered new by a private individual via Rufus Carr Ltd, Lancashire and within the file there is the New Vehicle Order Form dated 28th April 2010, the original Purchase Invoice dated 31st August 2010 for £36,700 including the £1,000 DVD SatNav option, the handover checklist dated 17th September 2010 and pre-delivery/delivery transportation documentation from the factory in Germany where they were built. Crucially, this includes the factory production document for the Nappa Red Recaro seats. Additionally, there are photos of the car upon collection, Ford documentation on how to clean and care for the 3M wrap, the Mountune Certificate and physical copies of every MOT from new. To say the first owner was a perfectionist doesn’t quite cover it. There is a plastic envelope including every fuel receipt (always Shell Super Unleaded) for the first six months of its life. From the Mountune document, we understand that on 18th March 2011 they fitted some performance parts including their Sports Exhaust and inlet plenum. These parts remain fitted to the car, but the first owner wisely kept all the original parts and they will be included in the sale. For safety and insurance purposes it has a Tracker system fitted with all the associated paperwork. This particular car, alongside its Sierra RS500 stablemate, featured as the main article and front/back cover stars of Fast Ford magazine, issue 302 March 2011 and a a copy is included. The car was bought new, then later sold to another private buyer, bought back by the original owner, then sold to our vendor, a personal friend, so it's actually three owners from new but reads as three previous keepers on the logbook. #128 was purchased by our vendor in 2014 at 6,000 miles and kept ever since, covering just 1,500 joyful miles in those ten years. Not liking the quality or aesthetics of the factory 'matte' wrap, our vendor set about removing it to reveal the Panther Black paintwork underneath, which he expected to be in showroom condition, but as all RS500s were wrapped, Ford clearly didn’t bother making the paintwork perfect. As a result, our vendor then spent over 24 working hours machine polishing the paintwork to bring it up to an incredibly high standard, before attaching their 'uncovered' title to the back of the car. This RS500 stands above the rest for all the right reasons and looks undeniably stunning in its gleaming Panther Black paintwork. An RS500 is a rare car at the best of times, however, to find an example in such incredible condition, let alone the fact that it has covered less than 8,000 miles and is virtually ‘out of the box’, is a brilliant opportunity for any modern classic collector, whether a ‘Blue Oval’ enthusiast or not, and is certainly not to be missed.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: FOCUS RS500Year: 2010Chassis Number: WF0GXXGCDGAJ82946Registration Number: R55 OOCTransmission: ManualEngine Number: AJ82946Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 7681 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Red LeatherClick here for more details and images
Looking very handsome in Kingfisher Blue, this is one of only 26 right-hand drive 5.3-litre Virage Volantes built by the factory with the optional wide bodywork. The Volante had been the big seller of the previous generation of AM V8s, so the only surprise was that it took Aston Martin more than two years from the Virage Coupé's introduction to come up with a soft top sister. The production Virage Volante debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1991, a prototype having been displayed at Birmingham's NEC the previous October. Weighing in at over two tons, the open Volante was even heavier than the closed coupé, itself no lightweight. This increase in weight is accounted for by considerable body strengthening to compensate for the absent roof, plus the extra complication of the power-operated convertible hood. Electrically powered, the latter was beautifully made and incorporated a glass rear window, complete with heated de-misting elements. Mechanically, the Volante remained much the same as its closed cousin, though with a slightly lower final drive. Top speed was slightly reduced also, to a still outstanding 150mph. Automatic transmission was standard on the Volante, the original 3-speeder being superseded in 1993 by a new 4-speed dual-mode (normal/sport) unit as featured on this particular car.For those customers who felt the need for more power, Aston's solution, ahead of the forthcoming twin-supercharged Vantage was for the Works Service Department to offer 6.3-litre conversions for the existing 5,340cc V8-engined cars. Introduced in January 1992, this package could cost more than £60,000 (depending on options) and offered increased power and a menu of modifications to the bodywork, suspension, and brakes. In addition to the expanded wheel arches necessary to accommodate the wider wheels, the bodywork was a lot more dramatic with air dams, spoilers, splitter, flowing sills etc., a bit more Le Mans than Ledbury. It was a good looking car and inevitably there were customers who admired the 'racy' looks but didn't feel in need of 6.3-litres, focused suspension and brakes, so the factory developed an option, known internally as 'Cosmetic Wide-body', which was available on the standard 5.3-litre Virage soft top. We understand that 26 5.3-litre Virage Volantes were finished by the factory with this bodywork. The hand-built example on offer here is indeed one of those 26 factory-built, UK-supplied, right-hand drive 'Cosmetic Wide-body' cars and is finished in Kingfisher Blue with Parchment hide piped in dark blue and fitted with dark blue mohair hood. It was supplied new to its first owner through Lancaster of Sevenoaks, who were responsible for the car's maintenance initially. Details from that period and subsequent servicing can be found in the owner’s book pack alongside some older MOT Certificates.Reassuringly, regular maintenance can also be found from a number of noted Aston Martin specialists including Aston Workshop and RS Williams. This includes superficial paintwork correction, new tyres, brake work, mechanical adjustments and tracking more recently as well as rebuilt throttle bodies, new HT leads, battery and comprehensive service a little further back. The Aston Workshop repaired the low front spoiler as well as both front quarter panels, blending in all areas and finishing with a full machine polish. Later that year, a full service was carried out with some electrical rectification. RS Williams also checked through some battery defects, brackets, hood mechanism issues and relays with a thorough road test to finish.Produced to recapture the spirit of the 'golden age' of Grand Touring, this rare Aston is high on the list of desirable, sought after models and is sure to fulfil the requirements of enthusiasts and collectors alike.Specification Make: ASTON MARTIN Model: VIRAGE VOLANTE Year: 1995 Chassis Number: SCFDAM2C0PBR60113 Registration Number: M802 RKO Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 89/60113/A Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 30094 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Parchment HideClick here for more details and images
Rare and increasingly desirable, this superb Escort 'AVO' Mk1 RS2000 is fresh from an exacting restoration. With their Escort doing so well in the world of rallying, it made sense that Ford would try and sell developed versions beyond the usual homologation specials. The job of creating more widely produced, fast Escorts was left to Ford's new Advanced Vehicle Operations, based in Essex.Following up on the rather complex RS1600 of 1970 came the Mexico and RS2000 which were far more suited to the man in the street. In June 1973, the Mexico was supplanted by the RS2000 and the model fitted nicely into the AVO line up with its performance almost comparable to the RS1600, but with the same reliability and ease of maintenance as the Mexico. Importantly, the RS2000 utilised the same Type-49 body shell as the Mexico and RS1600.The RS2000 was the first Escort to be powered by the overhead cam four-pot, as Ford decided that their 1,993cc 'Pinto' engine was to be used in the new model however, Ford faced the problem of persuading the bulky Pinto engine to fit into the engine bay and the only way of achieving this was to discard the engine-driven cooling fan and replace it with a thermostatically controlled Kenlowe unit. When finally nestled in place, the Pinto engine produced 100bhp and the RS2000 once again proved to be a quick and delightful car to drive, whilst being more accessible to buy and still offering customers a great choice in terms of colours and options.Finished in its original factory colour of Olympic Blue with a grey cloth interior, this fabulous RS2000 is offered fresh from an exacting professional restoration and with work just completed, it’s clear to see the lengths that have been taken to preserve the original detail with the standard of work being exemplary. No stone has been left unturned with every nut, bolt, washer and screw having received attention. The matching numbers engine and gearbox have been rebuilt by Ridgeway Racing Engines with particular attention to detail as Paul Broadway, the founder of Ridgeway Racing Engines, was the previous custodian, having had the Escort in his care for some 27 years. The original Twin 40 DHLA Dell’Orto carbs have been replaced by a pair of 45DCOE Webers on a Simpson stainless steel manifold with burnt gases exiting through a stainless-steel 2.5’’ sports exhaust system. Delve a little deeper and you see the original etched glass still in place, even the original radiator has been retained rather than replaced, simply requiring a new core. Similarly, the suspension and braking system have been fully overhauled as required and the car now sits on the correct RS-Ronal 7.5"x13" 4-spoke alloys wearing fresh Nankang rubber. The interior has also received the same level of attention with a retrim by Aldridge Trimming and the delicate dashboard veneers carefully refinished. So fresh, in fact, is the build that a period of running-in is strongly recommended to obtain the very best from this spectacular Ford.Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the detail of this RS2000 which is as clean on the underside as it is on top. To find a genuine AVO-built RS2000 is a rare thing, particularly when factory-fitted with the Custom Pack, but to find one in this condition is extraordinary.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT RS2000 Year: 1974 Chassis Number: BFATPY00498 Registration Number: OAL 776M Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 611 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
One of 130 UK right-hand drive examples of the final year of production 930 Turbo with the G50, 5-speed gearbox and less than 10,000 miles from new. First introduced in 1975, the 930 Turbo version of the amazing Porsche 911 evolved every few years to maintain its position as one of the fastest and most desirable sports cars of its time. By 1989, the final versions were offering 330bhp, which when coupled with the new G50 5-speed gearbox, propelled the car up to a top speed of 162mph and a 0-60 was covered in just 4.9 seconds. Porsche enthusiasts often consider the 930 of 1989 to be the ultimate incarnation, as it was the only year that this model was fitted with the 5-speed G50 gearbox which offered ratios better suited to the Turbo's power delivery, and 1989 was the last year of production of the iconic 930 Turbo which makes it just that bit special.Offered here is one of those 130 final UK (C16), right-hand drive cars finished in its original factory Paint to Sample (PTS), Minerva Blue with a Colour to Sample White interior, almost certainly unique amongst those final G50 cars. Supplied new to its one and only owner by the Official Porsche Centre, Swinford Motors, on 1st August 1989, it has remained cossetted in his heated garage for nearly 35 years, covering only 9,955 miles in that time.It was meticulously maintained by Porsche Centres until 2005, when the owner acquired a Ferrari 430 and the Porsche was carefully stored until now, but constantly maintained and used only sparingly on fine days. This truly exceptional, UK-delivered C16 Porsche 911 Turbo comes complete with a comprehensive list of factory options, an 'as new' tool kit and is MOT’d until November 2024.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ93ZKS000458 Registration Number: G464 LWD Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 67K00624 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 9955 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: CTS White LeatherClick here for more details and images
