A pair of vintage Don Bradman "Autograph" Sykes used cricket bats, both bats are in good condition with signs of use to the face, (2) Donald Bradman, widely acknowledged as the greatest Test batsman of all time, used bats produced by Sykes throughout his career. In 1929, shortly after Bradman scored the then highest First-Class innings of 340 while playing for New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sykes signed him up to help promote what became known as the Don Bradman bat, or the Autograph bat. On the 15th September 1940, during The Blitz on London, it is thought that incendiary bombs fell on the Slazenger factory. The Gradidge factory in Woolwich similarly suffered. The competing William Sykes Ltd factory at Horbury was undamaged by the bombings. Slazenger and Gradidge were able to continue production at other facilities but began a series of mergers with competing companies. In 1942, it acquired William Sykes Ltd. to broaden its wartime production facilities. Around 1943, Slazenger acquired F. H. Ayres. Thereafter the company was known as Slazengers Sykes Gradidge and Ayres.

He won gold in the 5,000m and 10,000m runs, but his final medal came when he decided at the last minute to compete in the first marathon of his life. He was nicknamed the “Czech Locomotive”.

Football in 1898 the first attempt to form a Players Union took place small membership card no.42 for National Union of Association Football Players issued to W Oswald Bury with note care of Jas Oswald Glasgow Rangers. The movement was started by Everton players and secretary was John Cameron, signed card, Cameron moved to Tottenham winning FA c/finals. Others who were members were Derby, Aston Villa, Man. City, it folded in 1901 and in 1907 the current players union was formed. Rare item of football history

(2) Sir Robert Charlton CBE (born 11th October 1937) is a former English footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, and an essential member of the England team who won the World Cup in 1966, the year he also won the Ballon d’Or. He played almost all of his club football at Manchester United (making 758 appearances) and in 1968, he captained the Manchester United team that won the European Cup, scoring two goals in the final to help his team be the first English side to win the competition. He is United's second all-time leading goal scorer (249), being surpassed by Wayne Rooney, and held the distinction of being England's all-time top goal scorer (49) from May 1968 to September 2015, when again, Wayne Rooney surpassed his record.

This is a player issued jersey and shows no visible signs of match wear whilst being in excellent condition. The game marked Howard Wilkinson's first game in caretaker charge of England against the recent winners of the World Cup. France won the game by 2 goals to nil. Leslandes made a total of seven appearances for his country and also had a spell in English football at Sunderland after being signed by Peter Reid

Known for his uncompromising defensive style, manager Bill Shankly once said of him: "Tommy Smith wasn't born, he was quarried". A central defender for most of his career, Smith's most memorable moment for the club probably came when he scored Liverpool's second goal in the 1977 European Cup Final. Smith played only once for England in 1971. Ian James Rush MBE (born 20th October 1961) is a Welsh former professional footballer. At club level Rush played for Liverpool from 1980–1987 and 1988–1996, he is the club's all-time leading goal-scorer, having scored a total of 346 goals in all competitions. At international level, Rush made 73 appearances for Wales, and remained the record goal-scorer for his country until 2018, with 28 goals between 1980 and 1996.

Watched by a crowd of 97,952, Albion took the lead in the first half when Clive Clark scored in the 7th minute. He scored again later in the half to give Albion a 2–0 lead at half-time. QPR reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute when Roger Morgan scored and then levelled the match 12 minutes later courtesy of a goal by Rodney Marsh. Mark Lazarus scored a third goal for QPR in the 81st minute, as QPR won the match 3–2 to win the League Cup for the first time.

In addition, she was a champion squash player, and prominent in other sports; she is considered one of the leading all-round women athletes of the first half of the 20th century. Sears was the daughter of Boston businessman Frederick Richard Sears and a granddaughter of T. Jefferson Coolidge (who was a great-grandson of Thomas Jefferson). Sears won the women's doubles at the U.S Women’s National Championships four times, including three consecutively (1915-1917). In singles, she was a finalist in 1912, where she was beaten in straight sets by Mary Browne. She teamed with Willis E Davis to take the national mixed doubles championship in 1916. She was inducted into the international Tennis Hall of Fame in 1968.

Worn in the Emirates Cup tournament which took place over the weekend of 30th-31st of July at the Emirates stadium, Player issue white short sleeved Nike example with Emirates Cup badges on the arms. -The front has the 1886-2011 anniversary design Club crest and also the "FLY EMIRATES" sponsor logo. The back is lettered VERMAELEN and bears the number 5. There are signs of match wear on the right sleeve tournament badge. Overall it is in excellent condition The teams competing in the Emirates Cup were Arsenal, Boca Juniors, Paris St Germain and New York Red Bulls. This was the first time that clubs outside of UEFA jurisdiction had taken part. This jersey is from the game against New York Red Bulls which took place on July 31st.

There is no visible evidence of match wear and t item is in excellent condition Arsenal were runners up in the Champions League campaign in the 2005/6 season following defeat by Barcelona in a thrilling game at the Stade de France in Paris and finished 2-1. Almunia made 12 full appearances for the Club over the season. Jens Lehmann controversially became the first player ever sent off during a Champions League Final when he was dismissed for a foul on Samuel Eto in the 18th minute of the game. He was replaced by Almunia.

George Swindin 14ct gold 1948 Charity Shield medal, the obverse inscribed FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CHARITY SHIELD, the reverse blank, in original fitted case, case inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CHARITY SHIELD In the match played on 6th October 1948 at Highbury Arsenal defeated Manchester United 4-3 George Swindin joined Arsenal in April 1936 for £4,000 and made his debut against Brentford, playing 19 matches in his first season. The following season he played in 17 League matches helping arsenal to the League title. He continued to play through the WWII for Arsenal, while serving as a physical training instructor in the Army, making guest appearances for clubs including Leeds United, Clapton Orient and Southampton. Portsmouth successfully retained the League Championship in 1949-50, finishing level on points with Wolverhampton Wanderers, However, their goal ration was better thus they were crown league winners. Peter Harris was a crucial part of the the back-to-back league championship wins, An outside right, he was fast, well balanced, in the 1948-49 season he was joint top scorer with Duggie Reid on 17 goals and the following season he played 40 out of the 42 matches, this time scoring 16 goals. F.A. Cup winner's medal awarded to George Livingstone of Manchester City in 1904, 9ct gold fully inscribed but with the players name mis-engraved and missing the 'e' on the end of the surname, weight 17gms., sold with two cigarette cards featuring Livingstone, (3) George Livingstone was a Scottish international inside-forward/wing-half who was a member of the Manchester City team when the club won their first major honour, the F.A. Cup in 1904 beating Bolton Wanderers 1-0 through a Billy Meredith goal. Livingstone also played League football north and south of the border for Hearts, Sunderland, Celtic, Liverpool, Rangers, Manchester United and Dumbarton. At Manchester United he was also player-manager of the reserves team. He is the only player to date who has played for both teams in Glasgow and in Manchester derby matches.
Two Scottish football medals, the first for the Scottish FA 2nd XI Cup in 1919-20, won by WD Davidson of Queens Park Strollers; the other in 9ct gold & enamel awarded by the Dunbartonshire Junior FA in 1908 and won by W Armstrong of Mossfield Amateurs, combined medal weight 20gms., (2) Queen's Park Strollers were the 2nd XI of the famous Scottish amateur club Queen's Park FC.
An early Scottish football medal awarded to Alex Higgins of Kilmarnock FC for the Kilmarnock Charity Cup in 1886, 10ct. gold, fully inscribed with competition details, weight 6gms. Alexander Higgins was born in Kilmarnock 7th November 1863 and originally was a coal miner. The centre-forward, capped for Scotland, was signed from his hometown club Kilmarnock FC by Derby County to play in the first season of The Football League in 1888-89. He was the club's top goalscorere that season which included scoring four times in the home fixture v Aston Villa. He later played for Nottingham Forest before ending his career back at Kilmarnock. Higgins died on 17th April 1920 the very day Kilmarnock won the Scottish Cup for the first time in their history. His son Alex Higgins Jr. also played for Kilmarncok and was a capped Scottish international.
Neil Webb white Umbro No. 15 England "Home" jersey from the Euro 92 Competition game v Sweden which took place at the Rasunda Stadium, Solna on 17/6/92. This is a player issued short sleeved Umbro example that bears the Three Lions Crest on the front with "EURO 92 SWEDEN" embroidered immediately below. The no.15 is printed centrally in red and the UMBRO manufacturer trademark is also present. The back is lettered WEBB and bears the no.15. Both are defined in red. The shirt trim is blue with white highlights on the collar and the brand logo is on the sleeve cuffs and inside the collar itself. The Jersey shows some signs of possible match wear and ageing as well as being in fine condition. The Euro 92 campaign saw England led by Graham Taylor. The game v Sweden that this jersey was from saw the Three Lions go out of the competition, losing 2-1 to the hosts. EURO 92 was the first time that England had worn the player names on the back of the jerseys. The game marked the last appearance of Gary Lineker in his national colours as well as the player who wore this particular item, Neil Webb.

Cup Final (4) Arsenal became the first team in the history of the competition to win the F.A. Cup in a penalty shoot-out. Following a goalless draw after extra time, Arsenal won the shoot-out 5-4.

Raymond Kopa yellow-metal and enamel 1953 French Division 1 Championship medal, the obverse inscribed GCA, FFF, the reverse inscribed Le Parisien, Stade De Reims, Champion De France, 1'ere Division with ring suspension Stade de Reims won the French Division 1 Championship this season with 48 points, FC Sochaux-Montbeliard being runners-up on 44 points Provenance: Mullock Madeley, Football Memorabilia including The Raymond Kopa Collection, 11th April 2001, Lot 601 Raymomd Kopa was integral to the legendary Real Madrid team of the 1950s, playing and winning the European Cup three years in a row, the club winning the first five finals since the competition's inception. Often considered one of the best players of his generation, Kopa was an attacking midfielder agile, quick, and known for his dribbling, play making and prolific scoring. Awarded the Ballon d'Or in 1958, in 1970, he became the first football player to receive the Legion d'honneur and in 2004, Pele named him one of the 125 Greatest Living Footballers at a FIFA Awards Ceremony. A rare Swansea City AFC- "The Vetch 1912-2005" commemorative Limited edition Box Set no.871, a superb collection memories charting Swansea City's life and times at their former stadium, The Vetch Field. the set comprises of a large reproduction of the first game there played against Cardiff City in 1912, a first day cover depicting the final game there against Shrewsbury Town on April 30th 2005, the final match programme, a book discussing their final season there alongside "A People's History of the Vetch Field", a fine collection of DVD's relating to the fans, the stadium and also a virtual tour of the now lost venue. There is also a woodcut from the ground post demolition depiction a game being played there. The set is beautifully boxed, presented and is no. 871 from a limited edition of 1000 pieces and in excellent condition.

A large framed photograph of the Sheffield and Glasgow Representative Football Teams from the game that took place at Cathkin Park in 1899, taken by Geo Bell and Co of 152 Sauchiehall ST Glasgow, Sheffield are depicted in White shirts and Glasgow in stripes. The line ups feature famous players including Robert McColl, founder of the famous chain of newsagents and Ernest Needham, one of the first professional players to Captain England. The frame measures 25 by 19 and is in excellent condition. The Sheffield v Glasgow games, known as the Inter City games, pitted what were regarded as the very best from the two Cities against each other and were staged from 1874 to 1960, at one time drawing huge crowds. Stanley Matthews' international cap for the Football Association Tour of Canada in 1950, the blue cap inscribed TOUR OF CANADA, 1950, colour somewhat faded; sold with a Cancer Research Campaign signed by Matthews and relating to his donation of the cap for fund raising (2) Stanley Matthews was selected for the England squad for their first appearance at a World Cup in 1950. Somewhat bizarrely the F.A. asked Matthews firstly to go on their Tour of Canada. This meant when he then travelled onto Brazil he missed England's opening match v Chile.
Tommy Crawshaw white England v Ireland international cap 1895, white, inscribed 1895 Colour somewhat yellowed, but otherwise good condition This was Tommy Crawshaw first appearance for his country. The match was played at the Baseball Ground, Derby, on 9th March 1895. England won the match 9-0 with Derby County duo Steve Bloomer and John Goodall both bagging a brace. Sheffield Wednesday's legendary centre-half Tommy Crawshaw won a total of ten caps for England. Two 1920s England amateur international caps awarded to Frank Twine of Middlesbrough FC, rose coloured, the first for the match v Wales in 1923-24, the other for the Scotland game in 1926-27, (2) Both in reasonably good condition The Wales match was played at The Oval, Llandudno, 22nd March 1924 with England winning 2-1. The Scotland game was played at Filbert Street, Leicester, 18th December 1926. Scotland recorded an impressive 4-1 victory. The right-back Frank Twine was a member of Middlesbrough's 1926-27 Second Division Championship side of 1926-27. He transferred to Aldershot in 1928.

Matt Busby, Tommy Docherty & David Sadler, Manchester United, original signed card, size 6 1/4 by 3 1/2in., each signed and inscribed in ink, very good condition Sir Alexander Matthew Busby CBE KCSG (26th May 1909 – 20th January 1994) was a Scottish football player and manager, who managed Manchester United between 1945 and 1969 and again for the second half of the 1970–71 season. He was the first manager of an English team to win the European Cup and is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time. He took the vacant manager's job at Manchester United just after W.W.II, where he built the famous Busby Babes team. Eight of these players died in the Munich air disaster, but Busby rebuilt the side and United won the European Cup a decade later. In a total of 25 years with the club, he won 13 trophies. Thomas Henderson Docherty (24th April 1928 – 31st December 2020), commonly known as The Doc, was manager of Manchester United between 1972 and 1977, during which time they were relegated to the Second Division, but promoted back to the First Division as champions at the first attempt. In December 1972, Docherty attended a match that Manchester United lost 5-0 to Crystal Palace; in the Selhurst Park boardroom after the match he was offered the Manchester United job by Matt Busby. David Sadler (born 5th February 1946) is an English former footballer who was a skilful central defender who could also play usefully in midfield or even as a forward. Sadler signed a professional contract with Manchester United in 1963, helping the club win the 1965 and 1967 First Division Football League championships as well as the 1968 European Cup. He left United in 1974 after making 272 appearances and scoring 27 goals. He also gained four caps for England between 1967 and 1970.
