A First World War group relating to 457783 Private Fred Defoe, 87th Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force including a 1914-1918 Medal and a Victory Medal, the associated Death Plaque, a copy of his will, letters from the Department of Militia and Defence relating to the burial, a pair of binoculars in a leather case dated 1916, and a Circumstances of Death Report stating 'The above mentioned soldier was shot through the head by a sniper and instantly killed, while doing trench duty, 15-5-17'.

A 'Grasshopper' skeleton clock by The Greenwich Clock Co. of London with three enamelled dials, fusee movement, grasshopper escapement and an anchor motif within a mahogany and glazed case, h. 45 cm *This clock is based on the first marine chronometer made by John Harrison (1693-1776) CONDITION REPORT: Prior to delivery, the vendor has had this clock operational. The auctioneers have not set up the clock to run whilst at the auction centre and cannot guarantee the working condition. With key. Frame at base of cover slightly loose and requires reglueing.
