A Regency Tea Caddy, of sarcophagus form, veneered in burr yew , the edges enhanced with cross-banding and stringing, with gilt-metal ring handles to the sides, raised on gilt-metal ball feet, opening to reveal two conforming hinged-lidded canisters and a central well for mixing bowl, first quarter 19th Century, 31cm width, 18cm high
An attractive First Period Worcester coffee cup, painted in purple monochrome with two Chinese figures, one pointing to a departing ship, the other seated beside a large jar, flanked by sprays, with inner trailing floral border, having scalloped rim and grooved loop handle, 6cm h, c1760 (see illustration) ++ A few very light glaze scratches. No damage or restoration
A First Period Worcester slop basin, transfer printed in bright underglaze blue and painted with the Bat pattern, the design embellished with gilding, 15cm diam, printed disguised numeral, c1785 ++ In fine condition, a good example without restoration, some slight rubbing to the gilding around the rim
A Chelsea fluted teacup, finely painted with two landscapes with figures near ruins and with a spray of flowers, 6cm h, c1752; a First Period Worcester turquoise ground square dish, painted with a central spray of flowers in gilt lambrequin border, c1770 (2) ++ Chelsea cup - badly broken and glued with only part of the handle remaining. Worcester dish - with stacking wear and the gilding on the rim mostly all worn off
A Hispano-Philippine carved and polychromed wood figure of a male saint, originally holding a staff in his upraised right hand, his tunic tied with a gilt band secured at the front and in black boots, rosewood plinth, 58cm h; a similar carved and polychromed wood figure of St Joseph and the Christ child, both first half 20th c (2) ++ Losses to the decoration and old faults

A rare signed photograph of HM King George V when Prince of Wales and his family, signed George P and also signed by Princess Victoria Mary and four of their children - the Princes Edward, Albert and Henry and Princess Mary, dated Xmas 1906, albumen print on card mount, 21 x 16.5cm; a signed photograph of Queen Mary, dated 1936 (2) (see illustration of the first) The group also includes Prince George (then aged 4) and John, the 'hidden' Prince who was 6 months old at the time. ++ In fine condition, the first with some light handling marks
LAURENCE STEPHEN LOWRY (1887-1976) A Mill Girl signed, dated '70 and dedicated to Susan in ball point pen, pencil, an invitation to an exhibition,18.5 x 12.5cm, unframed (see illustration) Provenance: A gift from the artist to Miss Susan Grainger, the present vendor, in 1970. Obtained by Mr J W Wood of Hyde, Cheshire who called on Lowry each year to collect the artist's donation to the Salvation Army. On being asked for his autograph on one such visit, Lowry "rummaged about", finding the first convenient piece of card - a printed invitation to the Hammet Gallery's John Piper Exhibition 1969 - on which he quickly sketched a mill girl. The story was reported, with a photograph, in the Manchester Evening News on 8 March 1976, a copy of the illustrated clipping from which is sold with the drawing. ++ Light corner creasing and surface marks but free from serious faults and in slightly shabby appearance, could be easily improved by conservation. The work has never been framed
A rare Victorian silver card case, die stamped with the reclining figures of Ino and the infant Bacchus framed by grapevines and scrolls on a matted ground, 10cm h, by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1854 (see illustration) The marble sculpture of this title by John Henry Foley (1818-1874) caused a sensation when first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1840. ++ In excellent condition
A Victorian silver snuff box and another silver snuff box, the first engraved with scrolling foliage, the second engine turned overall, 7.5 x 5cm and 5 x 3.3cm respectively, the first maker C C, Birmingham 1895, the second by another and marked for Asprey's London, Birmingham 1961 ++ The first box with erased inscription to the lid, otherwise fine, the second box practically as new

William Patten Jnr. (d.1843) Portrait of Amelia Lady Banks wife of Sir Edward Banks (1770-1835) signed lower left Wm Patten 1837 oil on canvas 90 x 70cm Provenance: The Banks family and by descent Lady Banks was the wife of Sir Edward Banks an engineer who became the principal contractor of Public Works in England. His first projects were in the early 1790s in constructing the Lancaster and Ulverston Canals under the direction of John Rennie the leading engineer of the time. After moving south in 1801 to build the Surrey Iron Railway Banks went into partnership with W. J. Jolliffe. Over the next three decades Banks and Jolliffe were responsible for important bridges dockyards lighthouses and prisons which all contributed to Britains commercial strength and domestic security. Amelia Banks was Sir Edward Bankss second wife. She was the daughter of Sir Adrian Pytches of Stretham. They married in 1821 and she died in 1837. Sir Edward and Lady Banks lived at Adelphi Terrace in Westminster and had country estates at both Sheppey Court in Kent and Oxney Court near Dover
A Late 18th Century Mahogany cased 8 day Longcase Clock, W D Durant, Yarmouth, the arched hood surmounted by three plinths for finials and fretwork frieze over plain freestanding columns with brass capitals over a convex throat and long arched trunk door flanked by cantered corners and raised on a later plinth base to a 12” first period arch painted dial with painted bird to floral and strawberry spandrels with gilt Gesso surrounds enclosing a Roman and Arabic Chapter Ring with subsidiaries for seconds and date to pierced steel hands, the movement with four knocked pillars, anchor escapement and strike on a bell, height 81”
