Suffolk Regiment Other Ranks Helmet Plate Centre 1902-1914, second type (Gilding-metal construction) K&K: 371. Four lugs. The change was in the design of the castle, this was necessitated on instruction from the War Office, dated 30th January 1900. The Regiments that used the representation of the Castle of Gibraltar, had to redesign it to the correct pattern then used on the Seal of Gibraltar. The main design change was in the Castle design, itself now having three Turrets with the key suspended by chain below the central gateway rather than laying under the Portcullis in the first type, the grass also removed from under the castle, and 'Gibraltar' scroll held against the top of inside of the circlet.
Northumberland Fusiliers (20th, 21st, 23rd and 29th Battalions) Tyneside Scottish Cap Badge of the unit raised in the Great War (White-metal) two lugs, first pattern issued in 1914 in the design of a circular Celtic strap, replaced in Jan 1915 by the larger Glengarry badge. K&K: 1135, with red feather plume.
The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) 25th Battalion (Frontiersmen) army unit raised in the First World War, (Gilding-metal), slider. This is the first type of the badge which is made from the Grenadier Guards Cap badge of the time with numerals '25' and scroll 'Royal Frontiersmen Fusiliers' mounted under. This was said to have been done in a local garage on the formation of the regiment. Rare, K&K: 1142.
