A Royal Doulton Advertising figure, 'Sketch Girl', model number 444, designed by Leslie Harradine, introduced 1923, withdrawn 1938, no HN number, impressed 444 to base, printed factory marks, 18.5cm high Footnote: The Sketch, a magazine of art and actuality was first published in February 1893 and remained in production until 1959. The items on the girls tray include a jockey for sports, a ballerina for theatre, a toy soldier for news and a cupid for love stories, which all represent the fields of interest covered by the magazine. No one is certain about what the little devil represents; perhaps satirical humour.
A mid-19th century mahogany campaign box of rectangular form with brass corner protectors and flush fitting side handles the lid with central brass plaque engraved 'Sir William Russell Bart', 68cm wide 35cm high, 35cm deep NOTE: Sir William Russell Bart refers to Lieut. General Sir William Russell (1822-1892). The box bears a label for Lot 1936 at Sotheby's Stokesay Court Sale, October 1994. The Stokesay Collection included many lots connected to Sir William who was born in Calcutta in 1822, he succeeded his father, the first baronet, in 1839 and entered the army in 1841, he served in the Crimea and the Indian Mutiny and was honourably mentioned in despatches.

Mathews - ‘Bills Donkey then was brought into Court, who caused of course a deal of Sport, He Cocked his Ears and Op’d his Jaws, as tho he meant to plead his case’. hand-coloured aquatint, engraved by Charles Hunt, published by Ackerman & Co, London 19 1/4 x 23 1/2in (48.7 x 59.7cm) in a contemporary veneered frame. The print depicts the first prosecution under the 1822 Martin’s Act with regard to ‘the ill treatment of Cattle Bill’. The Prosecution was brought by Colonel Richard Martin (1754-1834), MP for Galway. "

Joseph Farington was the first topographical artist to systematically record the scenery of the Lake District with a view to publishing prints."
"WILLIAM TURNER OF WALTHAMSTOW (b. 1763 exh.1787-1816), Fair under Fairlop Oak, 1789, signed and dated W. Turner, 1789 (lower left), watercolour 11 1/2 x 16 1/2in (29.2 x 41.9cm). The scene shows a gathering by the Fairlop Oak at Wapping. A Fair was held there on the first Friday in July from the mid eighteenth century onwards. The Fairlop Oak is said to have had a trunk measuring thirty-six feet in girth and spread an area 300 feet in circumference. The Fairlop Oak was accidentally set on fire in 1805, and later blew down in a storm in 1820."

Battin` (sic), together with a parchment certificate, named to `Walter Alexander Auguste Bettin`, dated 1959, with the original slip case, detailed `Copy of Freedom City of London`.
A 1950 NORTON 500T TRIALS MOTORBIKE Reg. No. JWT 134, 490cc. Black, 80"" long overall This vehicle was first registered on 26th November 1949 at Coldshaw Garage, Haworth, West Yorkshire, and subsequently purchased from there by James Ackroyd on 24th January 1950 and owned continuously to the present date. The bike is now offered for sale as part of his estate. The machine had had no modifications or additions and apart from one or two peripheral parts is exactly as originally supplied. Mr Ackroyd used it for trialling in Yorkshire and throughout the North of England and Scotland as a member of the Ilkley and District Motor Club. The bike is supplied with various contemporary Norton instruction books, spares, lists and other ephemera. It also includes the bill of sale showing a cost of £143.10s plus purchase tax
