Sergeant George Geiger (circa 1843 - 1904) – a Congressional Medal of Honor for his action at the Battle of the Little Big Horn on 25 June 1876 Sergeant George Geiger (circa 1843 - 1904) – a Congressional Medal of Honor for his action at the Battle of the Little Big Horn on 25 June 1876 Bronze embossed five-pointed star (Army, first model) with one point facing downwards, bearing the engraver's signature "Paquet F.". The eagle riband buckle fastened with rings and the suspension bar with safety pin, both also embossed in bronze. On the original, slightly soiled ribbon. The reverse featuring the dedication "The Congress to Sgt. George Geiger Co. H. 7th U.S. Cav. for Gallantry at Little Big Horn, Mont. June 25 1876". Width 53.3 mm. Total weight 30.97 g. Introduced as the highest decoration for valour by President Abraham Lincoln in 1861 during the American Civil War, the Medal of Honor has been awarded to approximately 3,500 soldiers to date. Sgt. George Geiger, born circa 1843 in Cincinnati, enlisted in the 47th Ohio Infantry, Comp. A in 1861. He was taken prisoner in the American Civil War near Atlanta and detained for two months in the notorious Andersonville Prison. Following his release in 1865, he served with the 7th U.S. Cavalry, Comp. M from 1867, re-enlisted with the 7th Cavalry just a few days after being discharged on 29 November 1872 in Unionville, SC, in Louisville, KY, and was assigned to Comp. H. At the Battle of Little Big Horn, Geiger was awarded the MoH for his bravery on 25 June 1876 in occupying an exposed position for four hours outside their own line of defence, together with Private Windolph, blacksmith Mechlin and saddler Voit. They feigned an attack that allowed 15 other men to make their way unnoticed to the river to fetch the water that was urgently needed, especially for their wounded comrades. Neither Geiger, nor his three companions, nor any of their 15 comrades were killed. In the Battle of Little Big Horn in the summer of 1876, five companies of the 7th US Cavalry were besieged and partly annihilated by warriors of the Lakota and Dakota Sioux, the Arapho and the Cheyenne. Of the total of about 650 US soldiers and scouts, 268 were killed, including George A. Custer along with his brothers Thomas and Boston, 55 more soldiers were wounded or unaccounted for. On the side of the Indians, who vastly outnumbered them, led by chiefs Sitting Bull, Gall, Two Moons and Crazy Horse, about 40 warriors were killed and 80 more wounded. Condition: I - II

David ANDREW (1934) Remembrance of things past Limited edition print 9/20 Signed, titled, numbered and dated '75 71.5cm x 58.5cm Postage is available on this lot from £42.50 to a UK address. internationally renowned artist, represented by Messums, David Andrew received enormous encouragement from the august Ben Nicholson during his lifetime. He was born in Redruth, and initially trained at the Falmouth School of Art and later at the Slade in London in 1958/59. During this period, he drew inspiration from artists like Ben Nicholson and Piet Mondrian and delved into the psychology of perception. He had his own personal connection with Nicholson; although Nicholson was not associated with Falmouth School of Art but, he became David's most important mentor, mainly during his fourth year at Falmouth, and his first year at the Slade. This good fortune came about when he sent Nicholson a copy of an essay which he had entered for a competition on 20th Century Painting, - in which David had referred to Nicholson. Ben invited David to his house, and with the brio of youth, he asked if he might bring a painting of his own along to show him. Nicholson, once shown David's work, talked obliquely around painting, making associations with expressive hand movements, influencing him more by enthusiasm for the “feeling” he valued in paintings, than by any facts or theories attaching to them. David found Nicolson’s energy and enthusiasm were as inspiring as his paintings, which stayed with him over the course of his lifetime. From time to time, Nicholson would drop David a card out of the blue, inviting him to come and see what he had been doing. He always asked for David's comments. He was never dismissive, whatever thoughts David happened to express about what he, Nicholson, was doing. He reciprocated with critical feedback on the paintings that David had lugged along with him on his motorbike. Following his student years, David taught at Bournemouth and Portsmouth Colleges of Art while spending summers painting in the vibrant Mediterranean light and along the coasts of the USA and Canada, using a converted recreational vehicle as a mobile studio. In 1971, he assumed a teaching position at Queen's University in Canada, where he served as Associate Professor until 1995. In 2004, David Andrew returned to Cornwall, where he continued his artistic pursuits in Mousehole. The first kept it for 37 years. It has an MoT through to September 2025 even though, as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires annual testing. The Citroen is reported as running and driving well, with no known issues. Make & Model:Mercedes , 190E Date of Reg:E855HPG Colour:White cc:1997 MoT:2025-08-01 Fuel Type:Petrol Mileage:43850 Transmission:manual Summary:This manual 1988 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.0, with rare full leather interior has had just a single owner from new and is showing a low mileage of just 43,850 miles on its odometer (which can be warranted from the service and MoT history). It was registered in January 1988 and has an MoT through to August 2025. We are told that the car has always been garaged and not driven if there was the chance of rain; as a result, it is in very good condition inside and out. It was fully serviced up to 2020 and then taken off the road after that point. Its spare wheel has never been used and it still has its original Mercedes-Benz first aid kit and valet kit (as supplied when new) which also hasn't been used. The car runs and drives, with its electric sunroof and windows all functioning as they should. Recent work after its period out of use has included a new fuel filter and fuel pump service, plus new spark plugs.    Paperwork with the car includes the V5C, book pack with owner's handbook and supplement, Blaupunkt Cambridge radio instructions, dealership directories and service book. This is stamped up to 43,752 miles in January 2018. Make & Model:Nissan, GSi Date of Reg:H59MJC Colour:Red cc:1998 MoT:2025-09-03 Fuel Type:Petrol Mileage:44314 Transmission:automatic Summary:This very smart Sunburst Red Nissan Primera 2.0 GS saloon is now a very rare modern classic, with the website How Many Left? recording that only two 2.0 GS examples are left on the road. The model was introduced in late 1990 as a replacement for the Bluebird and built in Sunderland; in its day, it was a very well-regarded car with a reputation for fine driving and good handling. The 2.0-litre SR20 engine produces 128bhp.  This example was registered in March 1991, making it an early car. It features electric windows all round, central locking and manual factory sunroof. It is totally original - even down to original dealer numberplates, tax disc holder, keyring and factory stereo (with electric aerial) and is now showing a low 44,314 miles on its odometer, which can be verified from the paperwork. Condition inside and out is very good, especially considering the originality. The MoT is valid until September 2025. The first owner had it for 30 years until his death in 2020; in his ownership, it was carefully looked after and apparently garaged every night. It still has his binoculars and cassettes in the centre armrest cubby hole where he left them (along with newer versions of the sweets he also enjoyed). The V5C shows four recorded keepers overall. The Nissan has been featured on Furious Driving, Lloyd Vehicle Consulting and JJ On Cars on YouTube. It has also been in the Daily Telegraph's Rarest Cars series (and on its stand at Silverstone in 2023). In November 2023 it was displayed at the NEC Classic Motor Show on the Pride of Ownership stand and won the Retro Repmobile Trophy at the 2022 Festival of the Unexceptional. We are told by the vendor, who uses the car regularly (but sparingly) that it runs and drives well, with no known issues. Recent work has included an oil and filter service during the summer, with the tyres and battery also being quite fresh too. All electrical items are functioning as they should. There's an extensive history with the car that includes the current and past V5Cs, service book (with stamps up to 36,493 miles in February 2008, although there is paper evidence of servicing beyond this), owner's handbook, MoT certificates back to 2000, assorted invoices and press articles. There's also a separate dealer workshop manual as well as a Haynes one. The Nissan has all its trophies and awards as well, plus two original keys (with the alarm deactivated).

Lot 307

This long-wheel base Ford Transit County 4x4 was ordered new with a factory optional 4x4 conversion undertaken by County Tractors of Knighton in Powys on behalf of Ford Special Vehicle Operations at a cost of £5,099. It is fitted with a 2.0 litre Pinto engine. Purchased by the vendor from ACA during 2023 when it was offered with restoration work having been completed in 2022 along with a new cam-belt and water pump. We have been advised that the previous owner endeavoured to retain as much originality as possible using new old stock Ford parts where available. Other options include a new alarm, sat nav, reversing camera, new window rubbers, fuel system overhaul and electronic ignition. The newly issued MoT is without advisories. The history file includes the original order form and bill of sale, many MoTs dating from 1992 when first due until the present, various receipts, V5s, tax discs, handbooks, wallet and spare keys. The mileage is recorded at 80,856.

Supplied new by Bristol Street Motors and then by TC Harrison. First registered on the 28th of January 1987 and understood to have initially been used as a dealership demonstrator before being passed to its second recorded keeper just two months later. The Speedo head failed early on in its life and was replaced by TC Harrison at 12,204 miles in March 1988. In November 1988 it appears the replacement speedo head required replacement again at an indicated 2,729 miles. Thereafter, the Cosworth has only received limited use, backed up by MoT certificates dating back to 1990 at 2,735 miles and through to 2017 at 12,980 miles. The total mileage that the Cosworth has covered is believed to be less than 30,000 with the current reading at 13,231. More recently the Cosworth suffered from a small engine bay fire whilst being started after a period of inactivity, so will need some repair work to return it to the road. No insurance claim has been made and the car remains clear on Hpi . The vendor has confirmed to us that it has received little use over the last twenty five years and is in original condition.Paperwork with the Cosworth includes the V5C, MoT certificates back to 1990 that back up the low mileage, old tax discs, and some early invoices. There's also the book pack with owner's handbook, radio guide and security instructions. The service book has five stamps up to October 1989. There's also a spare key as well.

It was resprayed in 1986 by a subsequent owner. At some point in the 1990s, it seems to have been barn-stored until 2021, when it was bought by our vendor. Its odometer shows 15,922 miles and the V5C shows three registered keepers since DVLA computerisation. There's no record of an MoT back to 2005, when online MoT records began. However, as an historic vehicle, it is now MoT-exempt. The vendor states that the vehicle runs and drives, with no known issues beyond the fuel gauge not working. An electric fuel pump has been fitted. Paperwork includes the V5C, buff continuation logbook, owner's manual, and some bills. There's also some spare keys as well.

1928 Austin 12/4 Burnham Saloon 1479cc (Man) – CF 8710This car, first registered on 14th September 1928 is finished in Maroon and black with a leather interior. Carrying the arms of The Lord of Cannock, it shows that it has been in his possession ever since the creation of the V5, only transferring to his wife on his sad passing. A man dedicated to his cars, there are a few news articles online about his passion for them. There isn’t a great deal of history with the car. The old buff logbook shows that the deceased vendor had the car in 1983, with 8 other owners going back to 1959. The Car is showing in good condition.  Once commanding £25,000 the current guide is realistic and quite a bargain. It would be good to see more younger folk driving the pre wars. It is real driving, and it is exciting. View more - https://hansonsclassics.com/car/1928-austin-12-4-burnham-saloon-1479cc-man/

Provenance - The script was discovered by the vendor in a house that was purchased from Rodney Pincott who worked in the art and prop department on various movies including For Your Eyes Only, License To Kill, and The Krays. The script has what appears to be his name written in pen at the top of the title page leading us to believe this was indeed his original copy of the script at the time of filming throughout 1980. The annotations through the first part of the script also seem, to indicate items that a set / prop designer would need to acquire as part of their job.
