A pair of 20th century untested moonstone cluster earrings, the central circular cabochon cut untested moonstones within surround of ten cabochon blue stones, within white metal mount with yellow metal reverse and screw back fittings, unmarked, cluster 13mm wide, 3.8gms (2) Condition report:Possible that earrings are a conversion from either post earrings or another piece of jewellery. Both show solder join where screw fitting attaches to the revise of the earring. Both untested moonstones would benefit from a clean, there is residue to the reverse and sides of the cabochon. Blue stones are of varying shades of blue.General scuffs and surface blemishes seen to the metals of the earrings. Both screw mechanisms are in good working condition. First earring - Five blue stone cabochons show obvious chips to the stones, remainder of the blue stones also show marks to the surface. Inclusions are seen to the blue stones under x10 loupe. Claws are present and white metal mount to the blue stones doesn't appear to show any major thinning or splits. Second earring - Six blue stone cabochons show obvious chips to the stones, remainder of the blue stones also show marks to the surface. Inclusions are seen to the blue stones under x10 loupe. The back of the frames have been written on in pencil and are with splits. With signs of wear consistent with age and use. Cracks/break in the corner of the glass of one frame. Small holes in the back of one frame. Paper appears discoloured/potential time/UV fade. Please note that we have not removed these from their frames to examine. Some patina/verdigris on frames.
