Norton 500T Tele Rigid trials motorcycle. 1950. 490cc. Frame no. 30023 This bike featured in classic dirt bike magazine. This 500T engine was believed new to Dublin in June 1949. The machine was first owned by Mick Tracey, one of the foremost Irish trials riders of his day. This bike starts first kick and has been re-commissioned and cleaned. It has recently bee enjoyed on local pub run. Reg. 881 YUL. V5. c/w dating certificate and lots of history.

This lot comes with a letter from the Editorial Department of Weekly Welcome and Woman's Way, addressed to Master Kenneth Bastin and dated 15.05.1941, "Dear Kenneth, I am very happy to tell you that you have won first prize in my General Knowledge Competition. Your entry was very good indeed. I hope you'll have lots of fun with your speedboat. Cheerio, Your chum, Topsy."
A WW2 Allied Cease Fire Order, issued on the orders of Field Marshal Montgomery at 20:50 on May 4th, the original field order in purple mimeographed ink was received by Cpl. B. Bradfield (ATS), whose name is written in pen on the top right corner, framed and glazed. At 18:20 on 4th May 1945 German field commanders surrendered all hostile forces in North West Europe to Field Marshal Montgomery's 21st Army Group at his Tactical HQ, on Luneburg Heath. Immediately afterwards he ordered his Chief of Operations, Major General David Belchem, to issue a cease fire order to all subordinate units, this document being a surviving copy of this order. This signal was transmitted at 20.50 hours on the 4th May 1945. Cpl Bettie Bradfield was part of the Auxilliary Territorial Service (ATS) during WW2, having first served with the 21st Army Group in Bristol and then being deployed first to Belgium and then to Germany as the end of the war approached. This document is being sold by her family.
A mid-20th century limed oak Footstool, with drop-in wool-work upholstered seat pad, impressed mark 'W', together with a limed oak dressing-table stool with caned seat, canework split, and an oak stool with barley twist legs and cane seat (3) Provenance: from a house on the south Devon coast, the family bought the house in 1936 and furnished it mainly from Heals, the house has been in the same family until now, and this is the first time that the furniture from that house has come to market.

Historic documents: a 19thC leather-bound Album, the contents compiled by Sarah Frances King, b. 1834/5, containing over one hundred and fifty letters, signatures, Cartes de Visite, photographs, envelopes and three 'Free Fronts' etc., dating from late 18th century to late 19th century, including correspondence from eminent social reformers, politicians and religious figures, including letters from Mrs Elizabeth Fry, Mr Edmund Burke, Mrs Jane Burke, M: Rockingham, Marlborough, Somerset, Miss Burdett Coutts, Joseph Wolff, etc.; Transcript of the letter from Elizabeth Fry: Dagenham, 8/10.1827 My dear friend, In reply to thy kind letter I may say I fully approve (of) women being received from distant ports into your refuge & I also think by no means less than 2..6 a week should be paid with them. I think there is little doubt if made known you will soon be full. I fear I shall not visit Derby this autumn but should be glad to have thee aided by a good committee. In The new prison that thou seen my little work upon the subject of forming these associations if not I should like to send thee one - . I happen to have left thy letter at Plashet and am therefore fearful I may not have replyed to all thy questions. I feel(?) for thee in thy various callings & ?????s but I trust that grace and strength will be granted to thee to fulfill them to thy own peace and the good father - I remain with regards to thy husband, thy affectionate friend Eliz th Fry. I have not quite recovered my strength since my interesting journey in Ireland - my family are pretty well. Other letters refer to: purchase of Penn for £1100 (Mrs Burke), 'sad state of distress about their house at Penn' (Edmund Burke), Cuddesdon College (W H Ridley), requesting that Rev. Thomas King be granted a position of Prebendary (Marlborough), and how the sudden death of servant was a great loss due to the fact that he had been such a good brewer (signature indecipherable); the album also contains signatures from other notable 18th-19thC figures including William Wilberforce, William Ewart Gladstone, Walker King, Edward King, Edward Copplestone, Lady Anderson of Lea Gainsborough, and a free front signed 'Byron', Dover, addressed to Miss A Pardo, 57 Montagu Square 23rd April 1830, etc., some items stuck down, much loose, and others trimmed, annotations in feint pencil, album has mostly lost its spine Provenance: Sarah Frances King was the daughter of Walker King, the younger, Arch Deacon of Rochester and sister of Edward King, Principal of Cuddesdon College, Oxon, and later Bishop of Lincoln), she married Rev. Stephen Henry Fox Nicholl in 1868; she and her wider family were well connected with the social-reformist establishment of the time. The vendor's late husband was Sarah King's great-grandson, this is the first time that this album or its contents have come to market.

NICHOLAS II EMPEROR , on the right - AND THE AUTOCHOR OF ALL RUSSIA. Along the edge of the edging, there are relief elements made in the form of teeth.Description of reverseIn the center is the Small State Emblem of the Russian Empire - a two-headed eagle, whose heads are crowned with two crowns, the third, a large crown over them. All of them are connected with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the eagles chest there is the Moscow coat of arms - a shield with the image of St. George the Victorious with a spear, slaying the dragon. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called Apostle. On the wings are the coats of arms: the Kingdoms of Kazan, Poland, Tauride Chersonesos, Astrakhan, Siberian, Georgian and the coat of arms of the united principalities of Kiev, Novgorod and Vladimir - 4 for each wing. In the right paw of the eagle is a scepter, in the left is a power. Below it, from left to right, are depicted: the denomination - the inscription 10 RUBLES and the date of issue 1899. Along the edge of the edging, there are relief dentate elements.Coin weight: 8.60g.Diameter: 23 mm.
