A fine William & Mary walnut and marquetry-inlaid mirror, circa 1690, possibly by Thomas Pistor Jnr (fl.1673-1710) The rectangular plate within ta cushion moulded frame, each corner with floral marquetry highlighted with green stained bone, 55cm high, 49cm deep Thomas Pistor's workshop, 'The Cabinet' , was located in Ludgate Hill, London. Furniture featuring closely related marquetry was supplied, either by Thomas or his father, to Colonel James Grahame of Levens Hall, Cumbria, with the first bill dating August 1684 to March 1686, and mentions 'a large wall(nut) flowerd Looking glass', delivered April 1685.
