It includes descriptions of Lake Tana, the source of the Blue Nile, Arab shipping, Prester John, "the famous Unicorne", and palm trees.

Arundell (Rev. John Stevens, with folding engraved plate of Cuzco but lacking folding map, engraved illustrations in text, heavily foxed in parts, contemporary mottled calf, rebacked, 1709, both a little rubbed, 8vo & 4to (2)⁂ The first concerns cinchona which was the source of quinine used as a cure for malaria, and was greatly needed by the British in India.

James Vivien de Fleury (British, fl.1847-c.1903), "Bonne Nuit Bay, Jersey" watercolour on wove paper, signed "JV de Fleury", dated "1892" and inscribed in pencil with title verso and recto 18 x 23½in. (45.7 x 59.8cm.) * Notes: London painter of landscapes and coastal scenes who worked in watercolours and oils. He lived in London at Fulham and Notting Hill, in Margate 1861-2 and in Birmingham 1892-3. He first exhibited in London at the Royal Academy from 1847 and also at the Society of British Artists and British Institution. He did not exhibit at the principal societies after 1869. He travelled in Brittany, Switzerland and North Italy. Several works by de Fleury of Guernsey and Jersey are known, the most recent being dated 1903. * Condition: In good condition, with no faults.
