A rare Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers 8th February 1958 programme. The fixture between United and Wolverhampton Wanderers was postponed following the Munich Air Disaster, which occurred two days earlier. The programme features a small article congratulating the team on their performance against Red Star Belgrade, the match they were returning from when the crash happened. The vendors uncle worked at the printing press where the programmes were printed. Only a handful are thought to have survived as the programmes were pulped following the tragedy. Central School of Arts and Crafts, tooled with decorative corner-pieces and boarder, with 'FS' monogram on upper cover with green onlay, spine gilt in compartments, g.e., spine faded, 8vo, 1925. *** The Central School of Arts and Crafts was established in 1896 by the London County Council, it became part of the London Institute in 1986 and in 1989 merged with Saint Martin's School of Art to form Central Saint Martin's College of Arts and Design. William Richard Lethaby (1857-1931) trained and practiced as an architect, but was also a designer, educator, and architectural theorist and historian. He was a very important influence on art education and on the Arts and Crafts movement in Victorian Britain.  The dedicatee of this presentation binding, Stuttig, settled in England before 1891 and taught wood carving and gilding at the Central School and at Camberwell.

T. C. Rolt), (1910 - 1974). He was a prolific English writer and the biographer of major civil engineering figures including Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Thomas Telford. He is also regarded as one of the pioneers of the leisure cruising industry on Britain's inland waterways, and as an enthusiast for both vintage cars and heritage railways. This volume came from the library of Sir John Smith, founder of the Landmark Trust, a fellow waterways enthusiast and close friend of L.T.C. Rolt and his family.
