She was originally a tanker finished in grey and black and was owned by various oil companies, subsequently belonging to the South Devon Electric Generating Board in the late 1950's - 1960's. The doors are sign-written and a roof-top attaching banner type sign is present but not currently installed. The conversion from tanker to flatbed has been very ably and sympathetically carried out and it is evident that high quality hardwood has been used to provide the remarkably correct period appearance. Drop sides have not been constructed, but various steel hardware for their attachment is present including four slot-in pillars and hinge plates. She has since provided Stirling service fetching in the hay from the fields on the family's working farm. A new heavy-duty 12 volt battery is fitted.

The current owner has rebuilt the car completely using as much of the original parts as possible, and a complete re-build of the engine was completed in July 2015 (and a photographic folder is included showing her being lovingly restored). Dawn has since been used regularly on navigation rallies, visiting vintage shows and local trips. This Herefordshire registered A35 was built at Longbridge on 11th March 1957 and was shipped to the Hereford Dealers - H.A. Saunders Limited. An economic to run motor car with a lovely local registration number.
A 1936 Austin 7 Ruby Saloon, Registration No. CLJ 628, finished in black, first registered 12/11/1936, 747 cc., Chassis No. 256095, Engine No. 2560970. Currently showing 98,529 miles (Not warranted correct). A new V5 is present. This was the first Austin motor car acquired by the family in July 1986 from Lincolnshire and engendered the enthusiasm for the Austin marque, which resulted in the gathering together of the collection. This car successfully completed the 750 Motor Club John O' Groats to Lands End Run at Easter 1992 in celebration of 70 years of the baby Austin. This well presented car starts and drives and is sure to provide many more memorable adventures in the hands of the new owner. A new 6 volt battery is fitted.
A 1953 Ford Anglia two-door saloon, Registration No. LWP 866. Finished in black. First Registered on the 19/08/1953, 933 cc. The wings and bumpers have been removed for the carrying out of some limited welding work, which appears to have been done. The various parts for reassembly appear to be present including the wings, bumpers, headlights and a new exhaust that appears to be suitable. We have so far, after cleaning the points, managed to get the engine to run for a short time, but hope to update on this shortly. Update... Today she has been running and drove in all gears around the sale yard, the brakes also seem to work o.k. The driver's side door requires a new key as it is locked at present, but can be opened from within. Some extra wheels and tyres are also with the car.
A 1912 Austin 15 Tourer (Right hand drive), with coachwork by Austin, Registration No. YJ 691. The coachwork is finished in attractive mid blue, Chassis/Engine No. 5865, 2,840 cc., a V5C is present, the existing Registration number having been allocated on 13/03/2013, (she apparently previously had the South African Registration HX 7536). She was acquired by the family in 1993, having been re-imported from South Africa and has been the subject of an ongoing restoration since that time. Work has been carried out to the body-work, the woodwork, the upholstery/trim and also mechanical work, including to the engine, which is of the later, more powerful design with individual "T Head" cylinders on a cast iron crankcase painted to resemble aluminium. It is understood that one of the cylinders (No. 2) required replacing and one was removed from a spare engine and assembled to the crankcase, thus explaining why one is of a differing colour. The Information Folder includes correspondence in 1993 with the D.V.L.A. regarding the registration, a photocopy of an extract from The Car, Oct 26, 1910 - "A Day at the Austin Works", a photocopy of Instructions for the 15 h.p. Car and various invoices including for new (steel spoked) wheels in 2011. Whilst the family have run the engine and driven a short distance around their home, they will understandably be feeling disappointed that they never had the chance to experience that first great adventure on the open road. Here arises the opportunity to acquire an Edwardian Era motor car, produced 112 years ago, prior to the First World War, a type of vehicle that is generally only seen in a museum and apparently one of only 688 ever manufactured. You are unlikely to see another. This Austin 15 has carbide front lighting with a brass calcium carbide acetylene gas generator "A.L. Popular" by S. Smith & Son. Ltd., A.L. Generator-Allen Liversidge, patent no. 25661-09 Reg 557367, 9 Strand, London", 12 7/8" high, a Pair of "H & B Projector Headlamps No. 960, Best English Make by Howes & Burley Ltd., Birmingham", the slatted lenses 6 5/8" diameter, 8 1/4" high x 10 1/4" wide x 7" deep, the horn fixing holes 7" apart and 1/2" diameter approx. Also present is a pair of rear oil lamps "Dependance Reg'd trade mark, J & R Oldfield Ltd., manufacturers, Birmingham, patent nos. 20060-14395/11, type no. 5402, 8 1/4" high approx., the oil burners being present. The original carburettor that was on the car has been found and will be sold with the car, whilst it does not bear a maker's mark, it is believed to be by Claudel-Hobson, a company that apparently produced carburettors for aircraft. It is very heavy and of rather unusual design using a principle of vaporisation that was, it seems, quite efficient.
A 1927 Austin 7 Chummy, Registration No. VW 1347, finished in attractive blue and black, first registered 05/09/1927, 747 cc., Chassis no. 43423, Car No. A5 275, Engine no. M 43740. This charming scuttle-mounted headlamp car, which has magneto ignition was acquired by the family in 1989 and was a barn find in poor condition, as can be observed she has been the subject of body and upholstery renovation and has had considerable work carried out to the mechanic components. A plate is attached to the inside of the near-side door: "Supplied by Frank A. Bloomfield, Automotive Engineer, Braintree, Phone 5". The Information Folder includes a photo-copy of the Instruction Book, a leaflet for Blu Magnetos for four cylinder automobile engines, a V5C registration document, an old Road Act 1920 Registration Book (in which she is recorded as originally being finished in green & black) and various M.O.T. certificates dating from 1997 to 2002. This van was first registered on the Isle of Wight and was acquired by the family on the 02/03/1990. Since that time the van has been stripped and considerable restoration work has been carried out including preparation and painting of the chassis, the unique to the vans pressed steel 3 stud wheels and the body-work. The engine, gearbox and other components are understood to be present and it would seem that little more than reassembly is required. The Information Folder includes a photocopy of an Austin Vans brochure, correspondence with British Motor Industry Heritage Trust regarding the registration number, various invoices, etc., Here arises an opportunity to purchase a surprisingly uncommon vehicle of great character that undoubtedly; with professional sign-writing, could provide eye-catching publicity for a wide range of businesses, as well as free entry to vintage rallies/events which are, once again, becoming very well attended.

The present owner has been in the process of preparing this A35 to show in Concours competitions but although much of the work has been completed, including a high quality re-spray, new upholstery, etc. some further finishing/assembly work is required to complete the project.
